The employees we're fighting infront of me today and I felt disturbed and they were screaming and there were no toy sections for my kids

I'm really disappointed and honestly pretty concerned about the rotisserie chicken I purchased today from Smart & Final. When I got home and started eating it, I realized the chicken was completely undercooked--pink, glossy, and visibly raw in the center. I even took a bite before noticing, which is extremely unsafe. Rotisserie chicken should never be served at this temperature, and this poses a serious food safety risk to customers. I rely on ready-to-eat items to actually be ready to eat. This was not only unappetizing--it could have made me very sick. I hope management reviews their cooking procedures immediately to prevent this from happening to anyone else. I've attached photos so you can see exactly how undercooked it was. Really disappointed, and I won't be purchasing m food from here again unless I'm confident the issue has been addressed. read more

Mexican lady restocking produce was extremely rude. Interaction happened 11/26/2025. Had a question about a produce Item for DoorDash and was told you have to look for it yourself you are not paying me to help you find the item. She stated ' I do DoorDash I find things myself' security and manager stepped in. Awful service I should not be discriminated because of my work because I'm also a paying customer I will be contacting corporate as well because these type of employees should not be employed if they do not want to assist customers. read more

I usually like to come to Smart & Final because of their meat selection. The quality is great. I sometimes find meats that are discounted as well, which is a huge plus. The store is very clean and organized. The price point of products is decent. The checkout line can be a tad long occasionally, due to only one cashier. This grocery store is wonderful overall and I will continue to come back. read more

I called earlier looking for distilled water. I thought I bought it here before but I didn't want to waste time driving there and they didn't have it. I spoke to a man who answered the phone. I asked if they have Distilled Water in stock and he said "Distilled Water?" I said yes, a girl in the back said: who knows. Next he tells me: "Sorry, we don't carry that." First time I have ever had to use yelp and I am hoping it is the last I don't know if the company sees this but this is a warning for customers on weekend's the general manager wasn't available until Monday morning. I DO NOT recommend this store for absolutely any reason right across the street there is food4less and savemart! Today at 3:45pm estimated pm I came into the store looking for a specific bag 20 pound bag of white rice by Peak. They only had brown on their shelves so my daughter and I settled on the stores brand of First street extra fancy enriched grain white rice that's okay. Not even my biggest issue to come. We get into line which I will be calling their district about because I recorded on camera this whole interaction their cashier this young Asian or Hispanic man he's slender short cropped hair, his nametag and my receipt read the name Angus. keep his eyes off my 12 year old daughter from the moment she put the bag onto the conveyer belt until she put the items into the cart it was absolutely disgusting. My daughter wasn't dressed provocatively she wasn't socializing with this man and he kept his eye's glued even scanned my item twice. We have it all recorded on camera and you can see every part of her he was looking at my daughter was in tears by the time she was in the car. Record these interactions and watch your children in this store! I'm not sure what type of background checks are done on employees but a thorough inspection needs to be done my video, my receipt, are all going to cooperate asap Monday morning! read more

Good store to purchase items in bulk and at good prices. I just wish they had more cashiers. There is always a line to checkout.

I usually come here for a quick grocery stop or when I need chicken legs or thighs. I don't like to post things online but I feel like someone needs to know. I came into the grocery store and notice the chicken was a 99cents/lb. I grabbed the max 4 packs of legs. I notice a n odd smell when I grabbed the packs and smelled my hand of they happen to be the chicken packs but I didn't smell anything obvious anymore.. I continued to shop and I again notice an off smell. I smelled my clothes hand and wonder what is that. I just so happen to ring do some merchandise behind a locked cabinet. While waiting I closed my eyes and smelled each pack and 1 of them smell terrible. I told the staff member hey I think this is bad! He said oh yea we had some returns.what ? ! I thought to my self. I asked well what should I do with this ? Thinking he would say I can take them nope he said to put them back! Wtf! Chicken or any raw meat should never be returned! That's ridiculous! read more

If you go here on a Tuesday (the day before the new sale cycle starts), just expect them to be out of good flyer items in the meat department. And unlike Safeway, they won't give you something comparable at the flyer price. When I encountered this, the manager seemed pretty irritated by my inquiry, and was totally unwilling to do anything to help me out. Looked around the store and ended up buying nothing. This store sells things in bulk and advertises the item as if it's on sale, but if you do the math you'll see it's actually not a good deal at all. Even Safeway has better prices on lots of items. If you really want a good deal, just go to Winco. Much better prices and friendlier more helpful staff. I would rather not have anything to eat at all than buy my groceries from here. read more

Smart and Final has the BEST Rotisserie out of all of the rotisserie chickens available. Hands down it is the largest, juiciest, best seasoned bird you will ever taste! $6.99 for the entire bird!!! This is just an incredible value!!!! It tastes like it came from a 5 star restaurant!! read more

One of my favorite grocery stores in town!! Clean store, beautiful fresh produce, great meat quality, inventory, friendly and mostly helpful staff. They have great sales every week. Great alternative if you don't want to pay Costco membership but still want bulk pricing. Wonderful location!! Smart and Final Extra! has garnered a great deal of attention for its direct (some would say indirect) friendly competition with Costco. They're doing pretty well IMO without the food court, tire center, and ridiculously long lines for their watered down gasoline. My uncle and I visit frequently because of their weekly sales and good prices on their fruit, but one thing perturbs me about Smart and Final Extra! I went by today and had a small shopping list that included milk, bread, and a few other things. Those few other things included a few health and beauty items every man should have to allow him to snag that sexy female. Their health and beauty section is a damn joke. The selection rivals that of a 7-11. One size of mouthwash and an incredibly sad number of deodorant brands. There's your quick tip. read more

Definitely one of my favorite places to shop for my lean meats and fresh produce. Although my check-ins do not say so, I come in here VERY often as I am (forever) in a bulking phase. *sigh* On to the pros: * The prices are extremely competitive. - I like to juice vegetables and one of my favorite steals there are their 25 lb bag of carrots for only $5! Like ohemgee, Vitamin A all day erryday for me. * The store is kept very clean and tidy. * If there's anything you cannot find, the workers will light the way for you. Great customer service in a grocery...? In Stockton..? After moving to CA I needed to figure out where I would do my grocery shopping so I ventured to all of the available grocery stores in the Stockton area as I'm not one to drive out of my way. I was disgusted after my 1st visit to this store as there was dust on the canned and packaged foods- ummm...okay... seriously? BUT I gave it another shot after receiving the ad and they had a good sale on eggs- $.99. I liked that I also found apples that were cheap. I've since been back several times and I do like this store- haven't checked for dust b/c I'm sure it's still there. I just avoid those items and stick to the produce. They have good produce. I wish they gave a credit for bringing your own bags. I also wish people would return their carts to the cart corral. read more

We shop for our business at the hammer Lane store. (About 35K per year). The packaging are offered in the best quantities for our needs. The selection of consumer household products has been improved recently, although some of the organization has suffered. We are not happy with management's decision to lock up certain items (that we now shop for at other stores). We shop early several times each week and seem to be tripping over store personnel and pallets of product because Smart & Final apparently does not do this before opening. We cannot afford the liability to operate our business in this fashion. So why does Smart & Final take this risk? Also, the checkout registrars are critically undermanned (2 open at max on any given day). Shopping elsewhere more often now. I've been a big fan of Smart & Final for many many years. For the most part I can go in and get my things and out the door I go. There are times when it is busy, but I mostly experience that time during holiday or celebration times. The staff here at this location are always smiling and willing to help. This store is now requiring that you wear a face mask. How about you make EVERYTHING AVAILABLE ONLINE so that I can just keep doing my part, which is social distancing to avoid wearing a mask. Nobody should be forced to wear something that should be changed out and cleaned in and out of places. Plus according to CDC face coverings are voluntary! I volunteered to stay inside and remain 6 feet a part based on government recommendations, I do not volunteer to wear these hot, moist, germ collecting face coverings, cloths and or mask. As much as I've spent at this store over the years, if stores cared that much then they should have someone at the door, with hand sanitizer, free mask and cart cleaner. I wouldn't doubt a new tax coming out for this. read more

This morning around 8:40-9am I wanted to find out if there was any more 2 ounces condiment sauce lids and container? To find out four different workers kept on transferring my call not even letting me explain on the phone what was I looking for exactly just kept telling me they will transfer my call to a different department. I had to explained myself 4 different times to 4 different workers what I needed. Please listen to the specific details customers ask for instead of just transferring calls not even understanding question. BTW it was all females that answer my call. read more

Awwh, Bubba beat me on 1st to review....congrats my yelpy friend! I really like this store. It offers options that you can't get at my other favorite stores so I make it a once a month, sometimes more must stop. If you need massive quantities of Scott tissue (I confess I'm a closet scottaholic) and some nitrate/nitrite free deli breast of turkey for weekday lunches, maybe throw in some Mexican spices and a 5 lb bag of carrots for juicing....you too may become a fan. Smart and Final has upped their game since they moved from Pacific Ave. The store is bigger, smells fantastic (I notice these things) the aisles are wide and floor is spic n' span (I think the even sell it) so, although it isn't one stop shopping (what is?,,,that would be a perfect world) it's a good place to add to your grocery and dry goods store shopping repertoire. While you're there you may want to see what's on clearance at Tj Maxx two doors down......just saying. read more

Man I forgot about this chain with all the safeway and winco trips Ive made :(. I got a huge bag of starbucks coffee for 20 bucks half the price that i woulda paid at starbucks. 35 lbs of laundry detergent for 13 bucks. and there was a lot of other cool deals here. This place is set up more like a grocerey store than a wholesale joint, I like that change. The huge bulk packages are there but not rite in your face. I like that there is a decent produce section 2. I will be back next year when I have to buy more laundry soap. read more

Has plenty bulk items and a clean grocery section, but sometimes, most times, there are boxes that need to be unpacked in the food isles making it harder to get your cart around. If you need help while you're shopping, don't bother trying to find someone to help you. It always seems there are only two people working and they are both at the registers. Let me tell you about the registers... ughhh... be prepared to wait in line... even if the line is only you and one person in front of you. I don't know what the deal is, but the check out process always is ridiculously long! It seems the clerk has to call for approval for more transactions and money checks than any other store I have been to... and remember, the two people at the counter are the only visible workers. I literally stood in line behind someone who just wanted to remove a canned good from her groceries FOR 15 MINUTES waiting for a manager! I even offered to just pay for the canned good so this poor lady could move along. If you're in a hurry, pay the little bit extra and go to S-mart around the corner. If you like people watching and watching patrons get frustrated, this is the place to go! read more

A good place to do grocery shopping. It certainly beats the new Walmart grocery store. I only shop here if I'm in the area and don't feel like going all the way to my regular store. Some of the prices are a little higher on items I normally buy. So it's just a once in a while shopping stop. But a worthwhile stop if you're in the neighborhood. read more

I really like the fact that they have the products that Costco doesn't carry so it evens out a bit. Their organic veggies and fruits section is usually always expired and moldy, which obviously isn't good for the business. So I tend to stay away from their produce section unless I am desperate in need of the ingredients and even then I get open items (not bagged or packaged) so I can inspect before I buy. read more

I had my first experience with this particular store on July 2nd and I am a little disappointed. I love S & F and have never had an issue before (at different stores), but this time I stocked up on produce, only to find it wasnt as fresh and it should have been. I bought 2 heads of lettuce, a couple containers of strawberries and a container of grape tomatoes. When I got home and started putting it all away, I opened the lettuce to clean and storage pack it and both heads were already turning brown. Both containers of strawberries were already starting to dry up and the tomatoes were already wrinkly as if they had been sitting for awhile. Very disappointing! I will take part of the blame as I should have inspected them better in the store, however I have never had this problem before so there was no reason for me to inspect...until now. I did purchase a watermelon, cucumbers and jicama that were just the way I like them, so its not a total "fail". =) read more

I swear this is the slowest fucking store ever!!! I come here only because it's on the way home from the gym but I am reminded EVERY SINGLE TIME why I don't shop here more often! Wtf??? On any given day, there's no more than 3 check stands open, the produce is hardly ever rotated and looks shitty no matter what time of day it is, and there's never anyone around to answer questions or go look for an out of stock item.
