bbq chicken & duck prices, pork stomach
    Mik B.

re: the wok and roast deli. bbq pork belly is flavorful and skin is crisp. they have less than popular items for the more adventurous, apparently, regularly available--at least the pork stomach and pork intestines were both in stock the 2 times I've been recently. I've ordered the pork stomach twice. chewy and salty and great. what I like best is that the deli fills out a hole in the community when sun wong kee, the old chinese deli in downtown stockton, closed down. fried rice is good. for the volume, the price, and the quality you're getting, its great.

SF Supermarket is great for people coming from out of town. They have a ton of ingredient varieties from different Asian culture ingredients. We don't have some of these items in the bay area, so shopping here was a delight. There are great item finds for Cambodian, and Vietnamese ingredients as well as a larger selection of frozen sausages includong Laos and Filipino sausages. Will be back to grab more items here.

Here to grab some vegetables to make Cahn chua ( Vietnamese sour soup ) fresh herbs like saw leaf and rice paddy herbs were fresh and reasonably price . Pineapple had some dark rings and soft, looks about it's on its last leg . Chicken thighs priced at $1.99 lb. In the glass case were a bit steep for me . Same with the pork shoulder it doesn't look too good. Decided to drive to Winco 5 minutes away to buy pineapple , chicken and pork. I did grab 3 Boxes of mangoes 6 pc. $11.99 and some ong choy, tofu, tomato and beansprouts to make the sour soup .

    Fish counter employees

With the current culture and climate of the US today you would definitely think that people would be careful not to offend or mistreat people of color in this day and age especially if you'd like to keep your stores open and your employees to make a living. But the way I was treated today at this Asian market makes me see why they are calling for a boycott of their stores. I came to the fish counter and was completely ignored in favor of other Asian customers very BLATANTLY I feel so disrespected and so hurt by this especially since this has been one of my favorite stores to shop at but today my feelings are hurt to be so disrespected by these employees at the fish counter, I shouldn't have to go and get a manager in order to be provided with service. I'm sad to say I'll probably never come back and seek other options from now on. If your black and go to the fish counter....prepare to be ignored and have Asian customers step up beside and be assisted first. Seems to be a right of passage or something with how in your face it was. BEWARE BLACK DOLLARS MEAN NOTHING HERE.

We come here once in a while to get some of the things that are harder to find at a typical grocery store. Tomorrow is the lunar new year and when we stopped here today, it was packed! There is always an odor here but it's worth putting up with to get what we need, however it seemed extra bad today. We were unable to find the large incense we were looking for but I believe we got everything else we needed. They did have a lot of specialty items out for the new year and some decorations which were cute. Although it was busy, it didn't take too long to check out but you do pay more for certain items here as they don't carry them everywhere.

Pretty expired items on the shelf still (8/2023)

I give this grocery store some points for having a few hard to find and rare items but definitely zero points for pretty expired items still on the shelf. SF supermarket is a chain and luckily they're all usually set up the same which is helpful. I haven't been to Stockton in a very long time so this was a nice stop for me and I was super excited when I found the "lau thai" hot pot mix. I originally bought a packet from Vietnam in January 2023 and have been looking since. I know there aren't many other Asian markets in town and I believe this is one of the big and the most familiar one. Just be diligent about checking the expiration dates on stuff you buy from here.

Busy store for any of ur Asian food needs. I buy all my fresh fish from here & they have any fish u likely can think of, it's kinda overwhelming (all the different fish). Live crab, crawfish, lobsters, frogs, fish.. all here. They have other fresh meat too (chicken/beef/pork). And, it's clean! Prices are great and if it's busy you have to grab their attention like ur on the stock exchange but they'll get to u eventually. They also fry whatever u buy right there if u want.

    Prepped cabbage.

I'm not sure about you, but for me one of the biggest barriers to eating more vegetables is that I have to chop them. SF market offers some pre-prepped vegetables that are all cut just right and fresh. I just love shopping their vegetable department. I still haven't been able to get one of the fried on site fish yet because there's always a line. But have I mentioned, they have EVERYTHING! Go now!

Ask the Community - SF Supermarket

    Do they have live catfish?

What are the store hours during COVID? I called but no one answered

I believe they are open regular hours!

Is there a deli section with Chinese BBQ pork and roast duck?

Hello! No, they do not have a Chinese Deli here. They only have groceries, produce, meat, and other grocery items.

Are u guys open tomorrow? I came this afternoon u guys are close

They are currently open! Went today.

Do they have stuff for sushi here?

Yes they do! They have seaweed wraps, imitation crab as well as anything else you would need to make sushi. I'm pretty sure they have sushi rice as well but not certain.

Do you sell the sweet chili sauce for lumpias?

I'm pretty sure they do... They sell a lot of the Filipino Soy sauces, banana ketchup, and more there.

    Do they carry crawfish?

Yes, they do carry crawfish. Depends on season and can be a hit & miss at times. I know what you mean about no Ranch 99, but being familiar with both Stockton and Bay area for me, there are certain things not available in Ranch 99, but available…

Do they have the Korean fire noodles I want them soo bad I can't find them is there any other market in Stockton I can them?

Yes they do they have the ones in cups.

He told me all about the popular items, and gave me a sample of clam chowder. DELISH! Let me add that it's all freshly made & it's no water in his clam chowder (from his mouth), it's made with cream! I ordered the shrimp Louie, clam chowder, and carrot cake cupcake. I easily coulda spent $50 ordering seafood here, lol. Food was great! They also sell various seafood that if they don't have, they will order for you with a 24-hour turnaround time. Just call them & ask! I like this place & they'll definitely get to know me.

Seafood Express may not be fancy, but when it comes to flavor they sure do deliver. My Bay Shrimp sandwich had lots and lots of adorable sweet baby shrimp swimming in a light dilled mayo sauce. Genova soft roll of course! DH was a professional cook for many years and he loves my Clam Chowder full of chunky quahogs, so let's check out theirs, a crowd pleaser. Good ratio of medium-sized chopped clams to small cubes of potato. Just right milk to broth ratio and thickness. Glad I ordered the quart. I remembered to order carrot cake thanks to other Yelpers' recommendation. What came was a Texas-sized cupcake chock full of carrots, coconut, raisens, a bit of chopped nuts and all the right spices. Now the frosting can make the deal with CC. Happy to report absolute solid cream cheese flavor, not overly sweet. Winner! Lastly, DH's steak. He likes rare but when I called in to place the order, the friendly voice told me, "Sorry but all the steaks are grilled ahead of time." I saw a speck of pink in his when I was offered a bite, so medium well, oh well. He said it was dry and chewy. However, please note: when I was given this very generous bite, then stopped to grab a photo, someone was mighty quick to ask for it back and wondering about the delay! I'm here to say it was very flavorful, a generous portion and a bit dry. So we'll be back, I'm already eyeing marinated crab, the lasagna with a generous Tri Tip for Himself. 4.5 stars. Good value, good food, good people. How cool is that?
