I have never been to a store that specializes in Asian food. We went there on a recommendation of getting frog legs! Yep! They have live frogs that they sell by the pound, once you pick them out , they will clean them for you . While in the store for the first time I was amazed and the fresh fish selection and the live fish in tanks that were for sale , this store is big inside, we ended up getting noodles for spring rolls and all the fresh vegetables and herbs we needed for spring rolls It's really an experience you don't want to miss! SF Supermarket is great for people coming from out of town. They have a ton of ingredient varieties from different Asian culture ingredients. We don't have some of these items in the bay area, so shopping here was a delight. There are great item finds for Cambodian, and Vietnamese ingredients as well as a larger selection of frozen sausages includong Laos and Filipino sausages. I've shopped a load of Asian markets all over the country. Back when I had a car, I went to Sunnyvale and San Jose or Rancho Cordova--mainly for Korean and Japanese products. I've shopped this store 6-10 times and it's good. They have a few more products for me than the store in Modesto, and I can reach this store by bus. I like the spice and soup base section, but I don't cook so much these days. I usually stop here for kimchi and/or tofu and some drinks and snacks. They have some Korean and Japanese products but not so many. I found the products I wanted and the cashier was efficient. read more

First off, when I say I have been going to SF Supermarket for years, I mean literally a decade or so, so I feel that I have the authority to speak on this place. This place is awesome, especially if you're talking produce. It's basically always fresh and they have a large variety of it. Even the pre-chopped or prepared peeled garlic is reasonably priced which I love. I don't typically buy meat or fish here since I am vegetarian, but I see many other customers doing so. To be honest, you can sometimes smell the seafood, but I don't mind it; it's nostalgic for me. They have so many sauces, dried goods, and frozen veggie meats as well. This place is not as big as other grocers in places such as Sacramento, but for Stockton, it is one of my favorite places to shop! All of the workers are fine or nice. I wouldn't say anyone is overly friendly, but I have never had a negative experience with anyone at the cashier! read more

With the current culture and climate of the US today you would definitely think that people would be careful not to offend or mistreat people of color in this day and age especially if you'd like to keep your stores open and your employees to make a living. But the way I was treated today at this Asian market makes me see why they are calling for a boycott of their stores. I came to the fish counter and was completely ignored in favor of other Asian customers very BLATANTLY I feel so disrespected and so hurt by this especially since this has been one of my favorite stores to shop at but today my feelings are hurt to be so disrespected by these employees at the fish counter, I shouldn't have to go and get a manager in order to be provided with service. I'm sad to say I'll probably never come back and seek other options from now on. If your black and go to the fish counter....prepare to be ignored and have Asian customers step up beside and be assisted first. Here to grab some vegetables to make Cahn chua ( Vietnamese sour soup ) fresh herbs like saw leaf and rice paddy herbs were fresh and reasonably price . Pineapple had some dark rings and soft, looks about it's on its last leg . Chicken thighs priced at $1.99 lb. In the glass case were a bit steep for me . Same with the pork shoulder it doesn't look too good. Decided to drive to Winco 5 minutes away to buy pineapple , chicken and pork. We come here once in a while to get some of the things that are harder to find at a typical grocery store. Tomorrow is the lunar new year and when we stopped here today, it was packed! There is always an odor here but it's worth putting up with to get what we need, however it seemed extra bad today. We were unable to find the large incense we were looking for but I believe we got everything else we needed. They did have a lot of specialty items out for the new year and some decorations which were cute. Although it was busy, it didn't take too long to check out but you do pay more for certain items here as they don't carry them everywhere. read more

I give this grocery store some points for having a few hard to find and rare items but definitely zero points for pretty expired items still on the shelf. SF supermarket is a chain and luckily they're all usually set up the same which is helpful. I haven't been to Stockton in a very long time so this was a nice stop for me and I was super excited when I found the "lau thai" hot pot mix. I originally bought a packet from Vietnam in January 2023 and have been looking since. I know there aren't many other Asian markets in town and I believe this is one of the big and the most familiar one. Just be diligent about checking the expiration dates on stuff you buy from here. read more

SF super market (Shun Fat stockton) The cashier named "Thomas" Is so freaking rude and annoying.It was 3rd time he had add in my receipt for the additional fee for not supposed to be.He double charged me for my 8pcs balut for $35 more dollars.He throw the items I bought and when I asked him why he didn't careful for the items that he scanned,and he said "what" only .Very rude guy!!! Busy store for any of ur Asian food needs. I buy all my fresh fish from here & they have any fish u likely can think of, it's kinda overwhelming (all the different fish). Live crab, crawfish, lobsters, frogs, fish.. all here. They have other fresh meat too (chicken/beef/pork). And, it's clean! Prices are great and if it's busy you have to grab their attention like ur on the stock exchange but they'll get to u eventually. They also fry whatever u buy right there if u want. read more

We came here for certain ingredients that are not as easily found in most conventional supermarkets. We found the service to be good. There were a couple of employees who kindly helped us find everything that we were searching for, but I don't think that's enough for us to want to go back. The store is not organized very well and some things did not have prices on them. I would have purchased more items if they had prices on them, but not being able to make an informed decision meant that I was going to go without it on this particular day. If they could do something about the shockingly foul odor, and I'm not talking about the fish section, then I'd be more inclined to go back. It appears that they have neglected to properly clean up in a very long time. No supermarket should be so filthy. If I ever go back I will definitely post an update. read more

Solid Asian supermarket in Stockton. They've been around for a long time and have a steady turnover of products. Their produce section is always stocked with various Asian greens and fruits. The meat section has your standard cuts, plus additional Asian cuts and parts of the animal you may not find at a more American market (beef bones for broth, organ meats, intestine, etc.) and pre-marinated meats. Their seafood section is pretty good with tons of fresh fish and they do fry your fish upon request, which is always nice. Their frozen section is pretty extensive and you can find all sorts of frozen dumplings, buns, ready to cook meals, etc. Because this place is old, the building and interior could use an update, but definitely still looks clean. Staff here is helpful when you're looking for particular items, but note that there may be a language barrier. read more

I'm not sure about you, but for me one of the biggest barriers to eating more vegetables is that I have to chop them. SF market offers some pre-prepped vegetables that are all cut just right and fresh. I just love shopping their vegetable department. Pretty nice Asian market with a huge Filipino and Vietnamese selections. I bought several Magnolia Ice Cream UBE (taro) with coconut along with Lanka (Jackfruit). It was on sale for $6.99 and in the Bay Area, price is around $12. Their produce is also pretty good with very good selections of Philippine Mango, Jackfruit, Dragonfruit and many more Asian fruits not sold in regular grocery stores. If you buy fish, they will clean and deep fry/steam them at your request. They also carry a ton of Hong Kong and Taiwanese cookies which was amazing. I bought a few and overall, price is reasonable. Definitely worth coming here to buy Asian produce and more. To my surprise, service was also pretty good and aisles were kept nice and clean. Cheers! read more

They have a great selection of seafood; oysters, crab (small and dungeness), many types of fish and shrimp. They also have a grand variety of meat items, ranging anywhere from chicken feet, to pork belly. They also have a huge selection of Chinese, Japanese, and Filipino snacks. By the entrance there is a row of different rice brands. I always get either the 50 lb. Buddha or the Jasmine 3 ladies brand. They no longer give away bags, so if you plan on buying a lot, bring some reusable bags. Unless you want to pay 10 cents each for their bags. Some cashiers can hardly speak English which isn't beneficial for excellent customer service. The security guard on duty tends to stare at the customers, even those that aren't doing anything wrong. Since it is located in the Normandy Village center, it isn't difficult to find parking. Their shopping carts DON'T go far though. I parked in front of the beauty salon next door to the left, and the cart stopped halfway. I had to carry my bags to and from the cart. I understand it's to prevent people from taking their carts, but they should put the stopper a little further from their main entrance. read more

I went in there this morning for a few items and most likely not going back any time soon. Everything there are mark up 40% or more. I make a little less than $100.000 per year and their prices has impacted me a bit. Lot of Asian seniors live on fixed income shop there. There be troubles in the horizon brewing just waiting for them for their returns for those that don't derive. I couldn't believe it's happening here in Stockton. Greed had set in at SF Market. I have choice not to shop there but for others it's impossible. This to me like Asian corporations attacking defenseless Asian. I love this place. I really do. When I crave a certain dish or want to try something new out of a wide variety of yummies I wheel my wagon to good old SF. Every time I come here I have a pleasant experience. The customer service of Asian markets may be notoriously "bad" or lacking to some, but I see it as a good thing. One knows what kind of customer service they're likely to receive so expectations are adjusted accordingly right? Just come in and enjoy the rest of the experience. Fortunately, I've personally never run into awful service or bad attitude here. They always have what I'm looking for without fail. I had a startling revelation today. We are not normal. Shock huh? We drove north over 400 miles and are coming home with a new rice cooker. And 15 bags of seaweed snacks. And a bag full of plastic Asian platters, trays, and a covered bowl. Hey! They were cute! So this store deserves at least 4.5 stars. And I'll tell you why. Wow. This is a nice big store with wonderful fresh produce. I didn't go see, but I suspect their meat and fish dept was just as stellar. Aind asles upon aisles of canned imported goods. I am getting some good vibes here. It is decently clean & nicely organized, even though the parking lot itself leaves a lot to be desired. Not their fault. We have been all over So Cal looking for those elusive seaweed snacks. Nearly impossible to find in the Asian stores in our area. They are crisp little toasted sheets of nori, lightly salted and crispy. No carbs, no sugar, low calorie, and simply addictively tasty. A great alternative to potato chips. Of course you have to like seaweed. If you are interested, go to the snack aisle and look for the label, Triple M seaweed. In little green bags. You might even like it. I had to load up on them while I could. So, then the dishware. Same story. We've hit any number of Asian stores to find the right platters, trays, covered serving bowls, and with no luck. But SF Supermarket had just what I wanted, and then some. I felt I'd struck gold. Lastly, the rice cooker. Ours was on it's last legs. After all, it was brand new a mere 36 years ago. And you must realize, every Filipino family must have a rice cooker. They had lots of them here, low end to high end. It was a no brainer. We picked out a really nice one this time. The manager came up to us while we were paying, and apologized but still warned us that if the cooker breaks, we cannot return it to the store. OK. We couldn't anyway, since we live so far away, but we now know we would need to follow the warranty directions. Here is the clincher. The manager made sure it worked before we left the store. He offered to take the rice cooker out of the box, then plugged it in, rev'd it up. When it got warm, he smiled, re-boxed it and told us we had just bought one of the best brands, Tiger brand. Nice to know, and really above and beyond what his job requires. We left very happy, and I am here to tell you, I would recommend this store to anyone who asks. read more

They have a good selection of meats, fruits and vegetables. Plenty of snacks imported from most of Asia. There are also noodles, spices, herbs, Asian drinks of all sorts, and well stocked aisles for anything else you would pick up from an Asian market. The prices are all very reasonable and competitive too. It's cleaner than most nearby markets and there is ample parking since it's in a busier shopping plaza. A friend who lived in Stockton recommended going here since it's the biggest one. Boooy he wasn't lying. My Mom acted like she was in Disneyland. Hahaha. She said wow they have everything here. My mom shopped for about an hour checking out everything. She wanted fried fish which they offered, but the line was too long. Anyway we will come once a month so my mom can get her Asian market fix. This place is a ripoff. The prices posted on the shelf are not what they charge you at the register. For example, I recently bought a 5 oz bottle of Kikkoman soy sauce supposedly for 3.99 but they charged me 6.99 for a 20 oz bottle.
