First, umur is so nice! I messaged him and was able to make a same day appointment and come in right away. Second, I have a iPhone seven plus and was quoted $129 somewhere else like honestly. Umur immediately let me know his price was $69 for my screen situation. Lastly, I get there and he said 15 mins!!! I took my Samsung S8+ to Smart Cell Repair in March because the battery was not holding a charge as good as before; but, this was due to it being 3 years old (normal wear and tear). Smart Cell Repair was the cheapest quote ($49) with the best reviews so I took it to this vendor for the battery change. The person who helped me (Shawn) was super nice, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. The service was done in about an hour (which was pretty fast). When I returned homed, I noticed that the battery was not OEM and not equivalent in mAh (which I thought was strange since I have a S8+ vs an S8) but it was working. After a couple months, my phone eventually would die after reaching below 50% so I called Smart Cell Repair back to see what we could do. Just like before, the person who helped me was very responsive and courteous which I appreciate. I was thinking he would exchange the battery for a new one since it was within the service warranty (1 Year) but he said it was probably due to some motherboard or "IC" issue and that I should check out my phone service provider to try to trade it in. I was a bit disappointed with the answer but shrugged since the initial cost was about $50 dollars. I searched to see if this "IC" issue was the reason but concluded that it was not the issue since it definitely could still charge ("IC" or chip issues apparently would make it so that charging would not even work). I definitely did not want to get a new phone since it was already paid off and it is currently in great condition albeit the battery dying and the supposed motherboard issue. I searched for a Samsung authorized repairer which turned out to be a "UBreakiFix", a vendor that I had initially thought about going to but decided not to because of the cost ($129.99). I needed to get the phone fixed ASAP so I decided to go with this vendor. I also had an issue with the back plate coming off because the glue was dried out which maybe was from the initial battery maintenance. "UBreakiFix" was able to fix my phone (same day) with an OEM battery, with the same stock mAh, and fix my back plate issue. The phone is good as new! I give Smart Cell Repair at least 3 stars because they were very nice and responsive. However, at the end of the day, my phone was not fixed for the long term, I was a bit disappointed with the final outcome, and I am out $50. Lesson here: If you do not want to spend a lot for an authorized Samsung repairer, want a short term solution (could be a long term solution but mine didn't work out), do not care about the possibility of non-OEM batteries and also have fast/nice service, then Smart Cell Repair is your vendor! If you want a long term solution, an authorized Samsung repairer that will have OEM batteries/parts, also has a quick service model with a repair tracker, but also do not mind spending over $100 for a service (with parts included), then I would go with UBreakiFix. read more
