Save yourself the frustration and use a different company. The quality of work was poor, and within just 6 months, the grout began to deteriorate. When I raised the issue I was told it was due to moisture and overuse which is baffling considering this is a master bathroom shower, of course it's going to be exposed to moisture. Rather than standing behind their workmanship they blame the product that they provided and even suggested we are cleaning it incorrectly. To top it off they want to charge me $300 to repair a small they just didn't install properly in the first place. When I pushed back I was told "nobody else is complaining "as if that somehow invalidated my experience. It's disappointing to see a company take so little responsibility for their work. COMPLETE SCAMMERS! Probably the worst company on yelp. Scheduled an appointment then completely no showed claiming they didn't have the address despite having confirmed the appointment for days. After they no showed, we rescheduled for the next day. They then had attitude and sent me snarky messages about who would pay them since this is a rental. I stated obviously I would, and was confused why this was suddenly an issue when they had no problem with me paying remotely before I called them out for missing the appointment. Anyways, next day arrives and they showed up late according to my maid. They then called me nonstop harassing me for payment. I asked, very reasonably, that they send a photo showing the repair was done, which is what we had agreed to originally since I couldn't be there. They refused to send a single photo showing the work was done. They sent me a photo of their zelle account, then kept calling me saying they had sent a photo (again, they sent one of their zelle account, NOT proof the work was completed). After they called me about 10 times in the span of 20 seconds, I blocked them while checking with the maid. I then asked my maid if they had completed it and she said no and sent me a photo. They had done NOTHING, which is why they didn't want to give me time to verify. Ragingly unprofessional and combative, cussing me out nonstop for not paying for work they didn't even complete. Savales and his partner were punctual, polite, comprehensive, efficient, knowledgeable, honest, and upfront. They took no issues with wearing shoe coverings in the house were very considerate overall. I had an issue where I (first time DIY shower install) used a diamond blade to even out edges of marble shower floor tile, and they tried various polishing pads and sand papers to try to get the shine back... unsuccessfully. Rather than mess with it for another couple weeks trying various things, I reached out for yelp quotes. Savalas was the only one that responded to say he can fix it... and he did. But, he also gave me some tips, tricks, and advice on how to finish the project without creating more issues (like don't use the epoxy sanded grout on this marble or I'd be calling him again to fix the scratches). Fairly priced, especially for the amount of time and frustration he saved me with his work and also helping me plan the rest of my work. Very much recommended, don't waste any time and just reach out. Salvales is a craftsman, and even among the 5-star rated people here, that's rare. read more

Smart Grout & Stone Restoration helped us do a full restoration of our shower after we noticed the sealant in the Plano house we just moved into was loose. Lindsey was very communicative and thorough in figuring out what we need, he was quick to schedule, and he was clearly a true master of his craft in his level of knowledge and attention to detail. The shower came out absolutely sparkling and beautiful, and I will absolutely call him again for anything related to stone and grout in our home like sealing our granite and marble countertops. As a side note: as we were discussing what we needed, I asked for a flood test because of irrational anxiety about whether there might be leaks, and he was super honest in saying it was unlikely I needed one even though it would be more business for him. Savalas came out within 1 day to look at the grout and 2 days later he was back to fix everything. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE... PRICE GOUGE. JUST AWFUL. MUST HAVE FAKE REVIEWS. I requested a quote to have a tile backsplash installed in the laundry room. Small area and they asked for pictures and if I had all the material, which I did. Sent it over and they said it would cost $500 via text, which seemed fair and also said they would come the following day for the installation. NEXT DAY, NO SHOW AND NO CALL, so I asked what was going on and received a call from Chrysali who said they couldn't make it because of a family emergency. She then said the next availability would be in two weeks and asked for the amount quoted and proceeded to say it wasn't right. She asked me to forward her the pictures and came back with an estimate for labor at $3500! I questioned the amount given the small area and that I had all the materials and she said that she could send a technician out to provide an exact estimate. We scheduled the time for the next day. Next day came and so did the appointment time. AGAIN, Two hours later NO SHOW and NO CALL, so I reached out to Chrysali who then informed me that he was running behind and would be at my house 45 minutes later. Given that I had reserved the time in the morning and had meetings for the rest of the day but let her know my availability and if he came when I was on a call, I wouldn't be able to answer the door. Guess what? He came when I was on the call, rang the doorbell, waited a minute and left. The guy made me wait for 2+ hours and could wait several minutes for me to get off a call that I let them know the time where I would be free. I was very pleased with my experience with the Smart Grout team. I shared photos with them of what I wanted to do. They gave me examples of the services they could provide and what those services would cost me. I asked them to come out and confirm for me if the services they could provide would result in my desired outcome. They came out, saw what I was asking and immediately told me they could not guarantee my desired outcome as they said they could grind away only 3/32" of the granite surface. This is to ensure a consistent appearance post restoration. They shared with me a lot of details to help educate me on options like replacing my existing builders grade granite and ensuring the staining did not get any worse if I kept my existing granite. These guys were more concerned with educating me to help me than making a sale. They could have easily arrived, done the work, not hit the desired outcome and charged me for the work they did. But, they did not do that. They were ethical and as concerned as I was about achieving my desired goal They also shared with me how to best maintain my counters in between their annual to bi-annual visits to clean and seal my countertops. As such, I highly recommend Smart Grout & Stone Restoration when you need someone to come out to do your annual to bi-annual cleaning and sealing of your granite to ensure it looks like it did when you picked it. read more
