Smart Levels was impressive, I'm really critical about these types of services but they were able to work with me very adequately, and beyond that too. They definitely know what they are doing, I wouldn't think twice about it. Staff is also very attentive and insightful so they know exactly how to help you. I was helped by Esli and he was very helpful and educated about the whole business, so it definitely made the process much better. For future references I would suggest you ask for Esli when going. I was super excited when i attended the largest o.c mixer and received a flyer for 1,000 free postcards and biz. cards. I currently need postcards, banners, cards. so, i figured i would give this company all my biz,. that was not the case. the site is not user- friendly. Before you can even upload what you want on your card you have input and pay for the product, yes before you even see proof. I uploaded my logo and it told me my order had been processed. I had no idea that this would be the only thing on the biz card. In order to add my name and phone number, i had to pay 125 and hour!! wtf!!! lmao! and to top it off, the sales rep and customer service rep didn't bother to assist me, nor did they seem to give a f..k if i ordered anything, yes i was using a coupon but, I had a long list of projects for there company. boo!!! what a waste of time. read more

I so much wanted to give them a good rating, because their pricing is very competitive. Unfortunately, their service was extremely poor. They sold me on becoming my "complete solution marketing" company, and said they could consult with me on issues beyond printing. With that in mind, I asked them about mailing costs for a special postcard printing project. Their answer was the postcards they prepared would cost the same as normal postcards (between $.32 - $.46 each). Unfortunately, that turned out to be wrong. When I took the cards to the Post Office, I was informed that because of the size, the mailing cost would be $.92 each! Instead of owning up to their mistake and offering to do anything to make it right (NOTE: I didn't ask for my money back... or even for a specific credit amount), they said it wasn't their fault and pointed the blame at both me and the Post Office (NOTE #2: I am no fan of the Post Office... but it wasn't them who misled me, it was Smart Levels). If you are looking for true customer service, my recommendation is that you look for it somewhere other than Smart Levels. read more

Smart Levels Media is the very best print/marketing outfit that we have come across in Southern California. This is why we have been using them for over 10 years. Prior to meeting the Smart Levels team, we had tried multiple print shops, but none of them provided the customer service and efficiency that Brandon Moody and the Smart Levels team employs. Brandon specifically is extremely responsive. He has processed print jobs on extremely tight time-frames. He also provides feedback and opinions to ensure that the quality and design fits our needs. I am extremely disappointed at their service. I had ordered postcards with them about a year and a half ago and they had come out nice. I had no problem with them, so when I wanted to get my business cards, I thought of them. Before taking my print to them I had actually yelped their business, and everyone had given great reviews except for a few people saying that they had a problem with their cuts, how it was not clean, as if they used a dull blade. Well, I decide the to give them a try based on the great reviews and my past experience and even left a note about the yelper's cut situation for them when I placed my order, hoping that they would take special care. However, when i picked up my ordered I noticed the cuts and, noticed that they completely ruined the edges. My design is minimalist, with just one solid gray color for the background and a simple shape on top in pink, so any little flaw shows, and these edges are no small flaw. Also what was even worst was that there were faded spots in the gray color on all the cards. My biggest problem with them though is when I notified them about the issues. The guy Peter was just bringing excuses telling me that I don't know about paper and it's fibers, and that they can't do anything about that. I showed them the samples they had in their office of their own cards and pointed out that they don't have those problems and that the postcards I had ordered with them didn't have that problem but he kept saying it's the luck of the draw, and that if the papers are not on the right side with the fiber of it facing a certain way they come out that way. Then about the color he said that "Grays" come out like that, so I told him that they should put a note on their site mentioning that gray colors have that problem, then he said all colors have a problem one time or another, they would have to say that for all colors. That they are just human and a million things can go wrong with the machines! His exact words were "you need a PHD to understand those machines" (which I am sure no one operating them has!) At the end I had to stop him and I said look I don't wan to argue with you, I just need to be compensated. He told me that he could reprint them for me, or give me credit. I told him that I don't want to print with them again, and I don't want to drive to pick them up again since they are an hour away from me, that asked if they could ship it, to which he said no since my original order was "Will call". So I took the credit and left completely unhappy. I don't recommend them at all do to their bad costumer service! read more

Printed documents late and incorrectly. Customer service was rude when asked about it. Had to pull an arm and leg to get it fixed. Was hoping to use them for printing long term for my businesses but thankfully this first and last experience warned me about their poor service. Will never use again. read more

I have been a Smart Levels customer for many years because of the incredible pricing they offer. Recently I had an opportunity to experience their amazing customer service. I had two large jobs that needed to be completed for a trade show. Unfortunately, I was only able to get the artwork completed and to Smart Levels at the very last minute. On top of that one of the files kept having issues. I went back and forth between Smart Levels and our graphic artist numerous times until it was right. As a business owner in Irvine, I actively engage in and support local businesses where I can. A new project I'm launching requires printed material- last minute. So I checked out Yelp for local printers and came across Smart Levels Media. After checking out their website, I wasn't impressed with the instructions and information for printing a basic business card. The instructions are written in technical terms, and those in graphic design will not have a clear understanding of them. Additionally, it is not clear which choices to make for the business card finish depending on what types of graphics and text the card will contain. With many questions in mind I decided to give them a call. Instead of someone answering the phone like a typical business, I got an automated answer like AT&T (or worse Time-Warner) uses. I continued to hold and was on hold so long that I had to call back. While, after waiting for the business day to progress, I had called back and faced an even longer waiting time. No one answered the phone, and instead I was given a message that "this voice mail box is empty" as if it were a mobile device that has not been kept current. What a terrible system! Needless to say, I will be going elsewhere for my printing needs. Somewhere there is choice of finishes, examples of paper type, and someone to actually answer the phone! read more

I just discovered this printing company in Orange County after the printer that I would typically use decided to increase their prices by 6%, making them no longer competitive. I called customer service and talked to Felicia to verify everything that I was seeing on their website was accurate. Felicia was super friendly and though it was a business call we did get side-tracked and managed to start talking about how driving through school zones during peak times of the day have become the bane of our existence.. It was quite an entertaining conversation.. Though it didn't stay fully business that is ok.. It showed the personal and friendly side of this company which is VERY refreshing. Their prices are super competitive and their turn around time is very quick.. Even though for a standard order they estimate a 3 day turn around they got my order done in 24 hours and I didn't have to pay extra. I loved the progress reports on my order that I would get emailed to me in order to show me where my order was in production.. I very much appreciate that... Needless to say I am super impressed with this company and as long as they stay true to the models in which they are currently operating under.. I've used SLM three times now, twice for myself and once for a client, and I have been more than satisfied with the results. I'll start by staying that $200 for 1000 off-set printed brochures is unheard of. If you have ever compared offset printing with digital, then you know what I'm talking about. They are a low-cost alternative and this is what I'm reviewing. It seems people don't understand the concept of 'get what you pay for' and in this case, you're actually getting more (I suppose if you're not in the business then you may not know what to expect.) When I know I'm going to be using Smart Levels, I design with the limitations in mind and my marketing materials come out great. When I NEED my colors or cutting to be exact, I pay up and use another printer, and when I need my hand held...ditto, you get the idea. For what they offer, they do a great job, a quick turn-around, and the prices are difficult to beat + the specials are ah-mazing!! Customers service is good too, tho I agree about ease of use of website, but it hasn't put me off at all. read more

I ordered completely customized door hangers using their downloadable template. The print quality was excellent, the cuts were right where the template specified, and even the perforated tear card was spot on. There's so much that can go wrong with even a simple door hanger that I was quite nervous depending on them for the first time. But with multiple call backs to ensure things were the way I wanted, a soft-proof process, and excellent templates and automated emails letting me know where in the queue my job was--I won't hesitate to use them again. The only small complaint was that there was a misunderstanding about the cost of the perforation. It didn't show up in any estimates I saw, and it wasn't until it was going to print that they notified me that there was a $40 cost to have the 2500 door hangers perforated. It could have been my mistake, and I'm satisfied with their level of communication. read more
