When it first opened I took my dog there looking for another option for us to have for daycare/ boarding because it is closer to us. They did the trial and told me he was an issue. Had to be put in time out multiple times. I was constantly watching on the cameras and he was playing with other dogs but something about it bothered the staff. Nothing out of the ordinary from when he is with his friends at the dog parks or at his other daycares. I chalked up t up to the staff being inexperienced and new. But, also not the right fit for us. I know people who have had a similar experience there as well. Now today this happened and why I am posting so late after I went there. I would definitely be nervous taking my dog there. Just wanted people to know if you had a dog staying at Smart Parke in Brea today 8/16/26 a dog got out and was running in the middle of the street on Birch . Luckily the cars all seen it and stopped. The dog got all the way to the apartments close to State College where a woman walking her dog was able to hold it. The Smart Parke employee then was able leash the dog safely. If it was my dog I would want to know. Hopefully they told the owners. It was a medium sized short hair brown dog. read more

Evaluation: 2-4 hours completely free day care. They give a report afterwards and tell you how your pet did. Overnight boarding: you get a full webcam access to their suite whenever your pet is in there. The big dog area looks very spacious and the staff told me my dog LOVED the bath they gave afterwards. My dog is currently struggling to keep her eyes open after picking her up from boarding, so that's a great sign. My only gripe is the option for a bath doesn't come with a brush out or anything. Not even as an add on service. It's literally just a bath and they dry your dog in a kennel dryer. But for $30 on top of boarding, I'll take that bath option any day of the week and brush my dog at home. read more

We just took her in and they had her for four hours for free and then they let us know what next steps were. It was really easy to book online! After a previous negative experience, my fiancé and I waited several months before bringing our dog, Posie, back to daycare. We decided to give this facility another chance because she genuinely loves playing with other dogs, and daycare seemed very different from overnight boarding. Before returning, we made it very clear to staff that because of our previous experience, we wanted to be contacted immediately about any issues involving Posie, no matter how minor. Staff assured us they would communicate with us, and based on those conversations, we felt comfortable trying daycare again. We had a few uneventful visits, but our most recent experience raised serious concerns and brought back many of the same issues we experienced before. We dropped Posie off around 2:30 PM for Day Camp. Around 3:55 PM, I checked the daycare cameras and noticed that she was nowhere to be found in the large playgroup area that we had paid for. Concerned, we contacted the facility to ask where she was. Initially, we were told that Posie had been placed in a holding area while staff handled transfers and departures. Later, a supervisor called us and explained that because Posie is "rambunctious," she had been separated into holding crates while staff completed other responsibilities. During the conversation, he stated that she had been there since arrival. This was frustrating because it meant our dog had spent a significant portion of her daycare visit separated from the group without our knowledge. Had this been communicated to us, we could have made an informed decision about whether daycare was the right fit that day. What was particularly concerning was that it appeared Posie's situation was only addressed after we noticed she was missing from the cameras and contacted the facility ourselves. While we were still on the phone with staff, we observed Posie being brought back into the play area on a leash. This left us wondering whether she would have remained in the holding area even longer had we not checked the cameras and called. When I expressed concern about how long Posie had been confined, the supervisor focused on correcting my estimate, explaining that because her drop-off was at 2:30 PM, she had "technically" only been there for about 90 minutes. The issue was never whether it was 90 minutes or two hours. The issue was that our dog had spent a significant portion of the daycare session separated from the activities we were paying for without any communication to us. What made the explanation confusing was that Posie has attended daycare here multiple times, and staff had always given us positive feedback about her interactions with other dogs. We had never been told she was disruptive, difficult to manage, or unable to participate in daycare. The first time her behavior was presented as a concern was after we discovered she had been separated from group play, which left us confused by the sudden change in messaging. Another part of the conversation that left me frustrated was when the supervisor told us that it seemed the facility was unable to meet our needs and suggested that perhaps this was not the right place for our dog. We had not yet spoken with management, nor had anyone attempted to address the concerns we were raising before suggesting that we take our business elsewhere. This also brought back concerns from a previous daycare visit. On that occasion, Posie came home with a wound on her leg that our veterinarian indicated was consistent with a bite or tooth abrasion from another dog. Thankfully it was not severe, but the skin was punctured and required monitoring. We were never contacted about the injury, and when we asked staff about it afterward, we were told there was no report of any incident occurring. That previous experience was one of the main reasons we stopped bringing Posie here for several months. We eventually decided to give the facility another chance because she enjoys socializing with other dogs and hoped the prior incident was isolated. Unfortunately, after this most recent experience, many of the same concerns resurfaced. Another concern is the overall level of supervision during busy periods. During our recent phone call, staff repeatedly described the environment as chaotic and explained that they were managing multiple responsibilities at once. As a customer, that left me wondering whether there are enough staff members available to supervise the number of dogs present while simultaneously handling transfers, cleaning, pickups, and other duties. Finally, during the last two daycare visits, Posie was returned to us completely soaked and smelling strongly of urine. We were told that staff regularly clean and mop the play areas, but both times we felt the need to bathe her immediately upon arriving home because of the odor. My mom usually dog-sits, so this was his very first time sleeping away from home, and he had never really been around other dogs or people besides our family. I was incredibly stressed to leave him! Thankfully, the team here is amazing. On drop-off day, Becca was so wonderful--she gently helped Simba transition into the playgroup and went out of her way to make him feel comfortable, which put us totally at ease. Mid-trip, my 'dog mom' anxiety spiked because we missed him so much. Sharina was absolutely incredible. She completely understood our longing and arranged a FaceTime call so we could see him. This was the first time we have tried day care for our small rescue dog Ruby. She has some anxiety and reactivity that we have been working on with a trainer. Smart Parke offered an initial temperament evaluation for Ruby. We were impressed with the large open areas and cleanliness of the facility. The staff were all very friendly and professional. We were pleasantly surprised Ruby happily spent 4 hours in day care with many other small dogs and passed her evaluation. I've been bringing my dog here for daycare and boarding, and overall I've had a really positive experience. To be transparent, my very first visit had a few hiccups. I was thankful that they accepted my county vaccination paperwork and that I was able to board my dog privately until she was spayed (which I did complete). There were some initial issues related to camera access and paperwork that were a bit frustrating at the time. The camera issue itself ultimately appeared to be more of a technical problem, but the initial communication at the front desk left me feeling like my concerns weren't fully heard. Looking back, it seems like something that could have been easily clarified with better communication. That said, coming from a customer service background, I believe it's important to give businesses the opportunity to address concerns before forming a final opinion. What really stood out to me was how the management team handled everything. They reached out, listened, and took my concerns seriously. They made the effort to explain, correct, and improve the experience, and followed up in a way that felt genuine and accountable. The issue was addressed quickly, and I truly believe they used the feedback as an opportunity to improve, which I really respect. Since then, I've continued bringing my dog here regularly - including overnight stays - and the difference has been clear. The staff is attentive, kind, and very in tune with the dogs. They recognize her, look forward to seeing her, and consistently keep me informed about how she's doing, including any concerns. She is treated with patience and care. They've also gone above and beyond in ways that meant a lot to me. They honored a daycare promotion I had missed when I first enrolled, and during a recent visit when my dog had been sprayed by a skunk, the team was incredibly attentive and helped clean her thoroughly and thoughtfully. That level of care made a stressful situation so much easier. The facility itself is clean and well-maintained, and the team members who work directly with the dogs genuinely seem to enjoy what they do. I have no doubt that they have the dogs' best interests in mind, even knowing how challenging it can be to manage so many different personalities. No place is perfect, and dogs can be unpredictable, but what matters most to me is how a business responds when something doesn't go as planned. In this case, they made it right, and that's why they've become my go-to for daycare and boarding. I am writing to share my recent experience at Smart Parke Brea location, which has moved from initial excitement to significant frustration. Despite the thorough onboarding process and my early planning--booking a luxury boarding option two months in advance for a two-night stay--the service I received was unacceptable. The communication was highly inconsistent. While I was promised daily reports, the first day's report on a prepopulated form was a ten second video clip and two prefilled bullet points with one sentence in each category. The second day was on the same form except there was no video and on the category nothing was written. And on the third day, I received nothing. More concerning was the actual care provided. There's no way to know what he did throughout the day when the live cam only shows his room. Even if you pay extra for a private suite, you're still only able to see your dog in an enclosed space. That's why a detailed daily report is so important for owners--it provides insight into our dog's activities, behavior, and overall well-being. By the second night, he appeared restless due to an apparent lack of activity despite the 1:1s services included. This led me to believe that some staff members have little interest in the well-being of the animals in their care. Finally, when I picked up my dog and attempted to discuss these concerns with a staff member named Destiny, I was shocked by her response. My feedback was met with hostility and immediate dismissal; she even emphasized that she had not personally cared for my dog and therefore was not at fault. My questions, concerns, and worries were clearly expressed, yet she only responded by lecturing me about their system instead of addressing them directly. Given this lack of professionalism and the poor quality of service, I no longer feel comfortable boarding my dog at Smart Parke. But here's what sold me: When another dog decided to pick on my precious 8-pound angel (yes, 8 pounds of pure fluff and innocence), the staff didn't just ignore it. Smarte Parke has been such an amazing experience so far. I have taken my 8 year old Great Pyrenees twice to the one in Brea and once to the one in Corona. Nova isn't a huge player, but she loves to observe and get attention from the humans. I love watching her on the webcam hang out with dogs that are her same temperament. She was having really bad separation anxiety when I went to work ever since her older sister passed. Taking her to Smarte Parke while I am at work has helped so much with both of our peace of mind. We drive up and she is so excited to go see all her doggo friends (and human ones too!) Thank you for being so caring to all the dogs! This place needs to be shut down right away. This place makes dogs sick. This place made my dog thirsty, dehydrated almost passing out from walking to my car. It was panting and heaving. Had the worst cough you've ever heard in your life after we boarded it for five days this place is a danger to all dogs. Please do not take any of your dogs here. When asking for a manager, none was available even though it was during working hours apparently there's not a manager available till 11 o'clock even though the place opens up at 6 AM. This is very unacceptable. I will be calling corporate tomorrow as well. read more

Drop off as early as 6:30 am and pickup by 8pm next day, extra $15 charge after 3pm pickup. $60 for single bed room which includes 3 meals a day (Nutrisource) or bring your own food for $5 extra a day. All dogs are evaluated and all vaccinations must be up to date before your dog is allowed to participate in doggy camp. Boarding comes with 4 hours doggy camp. I've decided to update my review to better represent the comically inept 'management' and 'owner' at this location. As I said in my previous review, the customer service and management at this location is a weak point, the response to my review proves that point. Instead of contacting me directly, the 'owner' that loves to gaslight, pass blame and be argumentative of and critical review decided the best course of action was to ban my dog. All of my information is readily available on my profile, not a single person in management took the initiative to reach out, address my concern or attempt to make it right. My concern was not 'addressed on an immediate basis' I did not hear back from Sahar for 3 days. When I did get a response from her I was told I'd get a call that evening, no call ever came. Two days after that another email saying I'd get a call that day, no call. That was followed by yet another email promising a call that day that never came. When I finally did get a call, I was working and promptly responded with a text only to be told at 11am on a Friday, mere mins after her call, that she was 'out of town without internet'. I was consistently brushed off by her. Chelsea (or Beca?) as an 'owner' you have access to my information and at no point did you attempt to reach out, as any responsible and competent manager should. Instead you only appeared after a critical review to ban my dog (who is the only actual victim here). Is that good management? Is that anyway to handle unhappy customers? Is this how you address valid concerns and criticism? The answer to all that is no. My concern stemmed from the use of a 'calming stick' that an employee violently and aggressively slammed on a wall directly above other people's dogs and then used that same 'calming stick' to push/hit the dogs. I have screenshots of all this from your webcams. The scariest thing is I just happen to be watching. So that begs the question, what goes on the rest of the day? Do the owners of those dogs know that is how their pet was treated? Is that the 'overall vision and what you do for your beloved pet family on a daily basis'? Because if so, yikes. My concern is very valid and should be brought to the attention of all of the people that use your service. You had every opportunity to address this with me directly and make it right but instead you perfectly demonstrated how weak your ability to manage and provide customer service is, as I stated at the beginning, truly and comically inept. read more

I got to watch our girl playing with other dogs along with sleeping in her room. My dog always seems happy to go! Staff is friendly and when I check the camera I see him playing or relaxing on the rock. Sometimes staff is sitting down with the dogs. I left him for boarding and I like that there is a camera for playtime as well as bed time. The only reason I give a 4/5 is for pricing. Daycare and boarding are fair prices. It's the add ons that get me. Extra for feeding home food, extra for him to be out instead of in his little cabin. I suppose I am used to Bow Wow and other daycares to have the dogs out playing until pick up. When switching dog food, it's crucial to do it gradually over several days to avoid digestive upset. A typical transition involves mixing increasing amounts of the new food with decreasing amounts of the old food over a period of time. So, I am surprised that it is free for in house food, but not food from home. Overall great for day camp. Friendly staff. Clean facility! read more

I'm usually pretty conflict avoidant, so I didn't feel comfortable bringing this up directly to anyone at the facility, but I felt it was important to share. While watching the livestream of the little dog area yesterday evening (after 5PM), I noticed a staff member being, I don't know, a little rough with some of the dogs. She was sitting in the middle of the room -- and honestly kind of shoving at times -- dogs away when they got too energetic near her. At one point, she held the large broom/dustpan she was sitting with horizontally to push back/spook a dog that jumped up behind her. Shortly after, I saw her grab and hold a younger puppy tightly by the scruff when it was playing with what seemed to be her own young dog (a yellow lab or a golden) and bumping into her. These two dogs seemed to be getting along, and she didn't mind if they were playing away from her? Since this is an unstructured playroom, the dogs were naturally energetic and attention-seeking, so it felt strange that she chose to sit in the center while responding to them this way. She did pet calmer dogs that came near her, but if they got excited or tried to climb in her lap, she pushed them away while allowing her own dog to sit in her lap and get attention. That detail isn't inherently problematic, but it may help explain why the other dogs were also seeking her attention. I also noticed many of the dogs stayed along the perimeter of the room instead of engaging with her while she was seated. It was uncomfortable to watch, and I thought it was worth mentioning in case other pet parents have different expectations for how staff interact with dogs during play. I will say, though, that every other staff member I have happened to watch or encounter has seemed very friendly, especially the team in the mornings and early afternoons. read more

I signed up my dogs to do daycare and boarding here in Nov 2024. When Jennifer was the manager, everything went pretty smoothly. My dogs loved going and the staff were pretty communicative with us. They took really good care of our dogs whenever we went on trips. Jennifer even called us sometimes to update us on our pups Fast forward to 2025, the services here have gone down in quality. The new staff and people in charge are not communicative at all. They're very dismissive and it literally takes WEEKS to get any concerns handled. At our most recent boarding stay, they gave us an UPCHARGE that was not on the estimate they gave us. Since you have to put a 50% deposit of the total reservation fee, we knew exactly what the price was. But surprise, on the day of drop off, the price was a lot higher than what we initially put the deposit for. They blamed the "summer upcharge" and basically gas lit us on their policy. It took the manager 3 weeks to get back to us. I also HATE how sometimes, the staff are very rough on the dogs. Needless to say, I don't think we'll take our dogs back to this place. I think their communication skills need to be improved and whoever is in charge needs to better train their staff read more

My JoJo had her first visit to Smart Parke and it was such a great experience. The place is so clean and smells amazing. You would never know that they board animals. The staff was super friendly and helpful. When I have boarded Jojo at other places she is always bolting for the door when I pick her up. At Smart Parke when I came to get her she looked so happy and relaxed and was not pulling me to get her out of there. I was able to watch her on the webcams and that was such a relief. Incompetence on behalf of the staff. Had my dog in daycare today and I get a text message that "he rolled around in poo". When I came to pick him up, the employee explained that due to some smeared poo that was not cleaned up properly by the staff, he "accidentally " rolled around in it. Instead of addressing the issue by properly cleaning him up due to their lack of oversight, they "spot cleaned him as best as they could" but was WILLING to give him a bath for $40. Who does that? Your team failed to keep the facility clean, allowed my dog to roll around in the mess that YOU FAILED to clean up and have the audacity to ask me to pay to fix your mistake?? Unreal.....I've been a customer with Smart Parke for over a year and highly recommend the Corona location. Brea on the other hand, you're better off spending your money elsewhere. read more

I thought this would be a great experience for my 5 month old Malinois but I couldn't have been more wrong! We were flying to Seattle for my grandson's first birthday and needed to board her for 3 nights. We dropped her off at approximately12:30p on Thursday and I decided to check on her at 4p. She was already locked in her kennel, had pooped and peed on her bed. She was completely stressed and I could see her barking and jumping on and off her bed. I called and was put on hold for several minutes and when the girl answering the phone finally talked to me, she said they would be doing clean up in an hour! I told her NO! My dog is completely stressed and needs to be attended to and she said someone would look in on her. 15 minutes later my dog had spun in circles on the bed stopping only to bark frantically. She tracked her poop everywhere and was leaving smudges on the wall...It was literally everywhere! I called again and she tried to put me on hold again and I told her "Absolutely not!" She informed me that they put the dogs inside their kennels to calm them down before feeding. I told her not only was my dog not calm, she was in severe distress and needed to be attended to. An attendant arrived about 5 minutes later, 20 minutes after my original call! I asked if she would be cleaned up and was told she would get wiped off or i could order a bath for her for another $30.00. Over the course of the 3 nights, my dog was put into her kennel by 730pm and left there for the entire night. She pooped on her bed at least twice and was left in her kennel for the whole night. I honestly had to stop logging in at night to check on her because it was ruining my time with my daughter and grandson. I would check on her during the day and she was completely despondent. Since picking her up, she has struggled to poop and cries every time she tries. I had to get her some ointment and they said the likely cause is severe stress! If you have a younger dog that you love, that needs love, affection, and attention, DO NOT BRING THEM TO THIS FACILITY! THIS IS NO BETTER THAN A DOG PRISON! NO PLAY! NO LOVE! NO ATTENTION! It's probably fine for old dogs but definitely not young dogs! I will NEVER take my dog there again! If they can give video access to dog owners, why can't they use that video access to watch the dogs that are in private areas and make sure they are OK and don't need attention? I love my dog and will never put her in a place that treats her like nothing but a dollar sign again. The cameras give me peace of mind that I can check in on them and I love getting the daily report cards for overnight stays! I love this place! The cameras are a bonus, it's fun to see what my dog is up to. I have a "senior" dog. When I leave my dog, I trust that he is going to get good care. They do a good job screening the dogs to know the best play area for them. I love that he isn't in a cage overnight, but rather on a padded cot with a blanket in a suite with an open roof. read more

This place is a joke. I let my dog stay with them in 2024. Left a review on google if you all would like to read it. I came back to read the reviews just to see how horrible the owner responds to all the negative ones. Definitely twists and gaslights all them. These negative reviews are exactly the reasons why I stopped sending my dog there after 3 times. I was told that they don't show video recordings because it's just a video in real time and it doesn't record. That is false, as you can see the owner's response to one review. Also, people be careful of charges you may see on your card. I had to get two removed many months after I stopped going there. I asked if this was fraudulent or a careless mistake? Her response was how dare I accuse them of being fraudulent. Also not once have I seen her apologize for the situation but "she's sorry we feel this way". Enough said. read more
