My review is extremely long overdue. I've been bringing my senior Siberian Husky here since 2021. He's 12. I washed my dog myself prior and I just couldn't put the same time and effort to grooming him myself anymore with my back injury. I know Siberian Huskies are no easy task. = I remember his first wash was a doozy and overdue for a grooming. They took such incredible care of him and he looked so handsome. I laughed when I saw the both of them covered in his fur when I picked him up. They even pointed out that his skin allergy was flaring up and recommended a cream for me to try. He's so fluffy it can be hard for me to catch it early and also turns out he had Thyroid issues that flares up his skin too. It showed me they really care a lot and took time with our old man. I knew I found our forever groomers! They even take an adorable photo of your pup and give the cutest bandanas or even a tie! I loved getting his photos and loved seeing how adorable he always came out. They always do such an amazing job and I know how hard huskies can be. They offer a extra tidy option and I always chose it since they clean up his fluffy bubble butt and trim up a bit. Sorry no pics of my dog's butt but they were were so detailed! Earlier this year the old man passed and Noriko and her Husband reach out to me since Diesel hadn't been in a few months. His health was declining and he left us in a little over a month ago. When they found out they sent me his last grooming pic and a little keepsake with his fur with a heartfelt card. I was extremely touched that they would go out of their way to do that for us. When we open our arms to another dog we will 100% choose Zen Pet Grooming again. My dog is very anxious and does not let anyone touch him, but they are always so patient and kind with him despite his tendency to try to bite them. Our initial few visits to Zen Pet Grooming was great but towards the end it became a bit disappointing. Noriko and her husband were really sweet and welcoming and really loved our dog which made us feel great.. but in our last visit we brought it to their attention that his haircut was uneven and he had rashes all over his skin from the irritation from cutting too close (pictures attached). She had apologized and offered ointment but there was no offers to fix the haircut or have any follow ups on how he was doing. Today we decided to try them again since they are usually so kind but first my phone call/voicemail was ignored and when my significant other called back with a different number, she was a little rude towards the end. I am disappointed because we really liked this place but it seems their quality of work and customer service has decreased. ******** Update: In response to the owners comment below, we've taken our senior dog to plenty other groomers who had no issues giving a proper haircut. Also I find it ridiculous at the fact where she wrote at the end "if you are looking for a good quality haircut, this is not the place for you" ... you read that right folks! I am going to speak VERY highly of this place for our first visit!!! I emailed first to get information as this was my first time to a groomer, and also first time taking our newly adopted dog! They answered all of my questions and told me when they can do a consultation. We took our dog, Chewie, in and immediately our dog felt comfortable with them! Because our dog is adopted he was found as a stray and is reactive which we were worried about! We made our appointment and 40 minutes later we got a call letting us know Chewie was doing amazing and that he would be ready for pick up in 20 minutes! There are many reasons this venue has 5 star ratings and you should bring your dogs here! Noriko and Masa are so nice and super kind/gentle with the pups. I can get both dogs groomed simultaneously and with dedicated time (usually 2 hours or less). They stick with their estimate and don't add on charges later. One dog has IBD and can't have any treats, and I have fragrance allergies. Treats and spritzers are for owners to give and are kept on a table at the entrance. They have a variety of shampoos based on your dog's needs. After your 2nd visit, they will give you a picture of your dog (the 1st time it stays up on their wall). The cuts are as good as any other groomer and if something didn't get done the way you wanted, it's because the dog showed signs of stress and they respect it by not causing further agitation. As a huge animal lover trusting just anyone with my little one's isn't easy. After meeting the owners and seeing how they interacted with them I was quickly put at ease. My two cats Mia and Kuro have the hardest time taking baths! I have the scars to prove it. I don't know how they did it but their fur is now silky smooth. That alone gains my respect! I was very nervous about taking my little fur baby Miley for a haircut since she's very anxious and barks quite a lot. Our Gigi loves Zen! They are so gentle with her considering she is a very skittish girl. They have called me during one of her appointments to tell me they are going to take longer with her because she was shaking a lot and very fearful. Just had my first experience with Zen Grooming! (located where Grooming Tails was on Orangethorpe and Richfield) where I was a long time customer. Let me just say, when you first walk in, you have the sense of calm right away. There is a wonderful aroma, and relaxing music in the background. Not sure how they did it, but my Madi came out great and is the first time she hasn't scratched like crazy after a grooming and was so relaxed. Excellent job on her nails as well. Give them a try! Hope this place improves I debated about writing this review because the young lady was nice. But she is an awful grooomer. Ive had 6 dogs in my life and never has one of my dogs haircuts been this terrible. I told her what i wanted 5-6 times thinking she knew her job. My dog is a specific breed and we didnt ask for anything too demanding.. she took offf alll OF THE DOGS WHISKERS, and all of the eye lashes. What dog groomer does this? Rule#1 is to leave the eye lashes. I cant believe this girl has a license to cut pets hair, she did a disgusting job on my boy. The only consolation i have is that the hair will grow back. I didnt have the heart to be rude to her when i paid but the job was the worst groooming I have ever seen. She doesnt seem to have a passion for grooming pets, she just did whatever came to mind. she needs to go back to grooming school or find a new trait because this is not okay. Please do not come here save yourself the money and sadness of seeing your pet looking a hot a$$ mess. read more

The owners of this place are so nice! They treat my dogs so gently and are fast, efficient and do a wonderful job every time I go! My dogs are very bonded and I usually take them together. One was having surgery so she had to go without the other. The next visit I had to take the other one alone. Both times the groomers were extra kind and understanding.
