I finally had some time to stop by SmartStyle at Walmart and bring my mom with me. We loved how convenient the location is since I'm always at Walmart anyway! Sheila was absolutely wonderful with my mom. She was patient, kind, and took the time to communicate with her and understand exactly what she wanted. My mom absolutely loved her haircut and style...it was exactly what she asked for! I also had a hair treatment and blowout, and I loved it! My hair felt so soft, and the whole experience was so relaxing that I was practically falling asleep while she styled my hair. Thank you, Sheila, for being so wonderful with my mom and for giving both of us such a great experience. We will definitely be back! read more

They charge extra to blow dry my hair so I decided not get it blow dried, but I really appreciate her service and I love my new haircut! read more

My first time coming here , had my hair done by the Stylist Linda, and let me tell you . I have NEVER HAD MY HAIR DESTROYED TO THE POINT OF NO RETURN. And to think I can't even fix it. I reached out to the manager of the store . Suzanna or Suezette. Well she's just as bad as the lady who did my hair . I wouldn't call her a manager because she certainly doesn't give a crap. She told me to send an email and someone who contact me on Wednesday . No has reached out. The photos I will be attaching is a photo of my hair , shorter , shoulder length with long layers . The other photo is what they gave me , mind you she said she gave me a balayage (blonde tips) I think a Linda needs to go back to work at the barber shop where she came from. I can honestly say I'm very impressed with everything about Smart Style. I did not have an appointment and they still took me in for cut/color around 3pm on a Monday. When I arrived there were two hairstylists working, one was at register and the other was working on a client. There wasn't anyone ahead of me waiting in line, but for the services I requested I was asked to wait 20-25 minutes until the busy stylist was available. (The stylist available at register said that her shift was ending soon and she wouldn't have enough time to finish, and that it would be best if only one stylist was working on my hair) Initially I was a bit hesitant about getting my hair cut and colored here because most people believe that salons located within grocery stores aren't of very high caliber, but my hairstylist Janice proved that belief wrong! I explained every detail of my cut/color to her as well as showed her a picture of what I wanted and I received exactly that. Customer service was EXCELLENT!! She conversed with me throughout the process and thoroughly explained what exactly she was doing to my hair. I was initially told that the look I wanted to achieve would take anywhere from 2-3 hours, and though it took a little bit longer than that, I appreciate Janice taking the extra time to perfect every detail. As a perfectionist myself, I understand the need to make everything as perfect as it can be, and Janice explained to me that every hairstylist there will always try to make their client look their very best & would not let their client go walking around with a hideous cut/color. After my hair was finished I was recommended a few different products that will help to retain my color. I would definitely recommend that anyone looking for an amazing cut or color should book an appointment with Janice. read more

This was a very disappointing experience for my mom and me. I took her here to get a color, shampoo and flat iron, which should have been UNDER $70 as indicated on the sign behind the pay area. However, afterward we were told that flat iron was an "extra" $35... We were not told that when I initially discussed prices with the stylist. The total was $97 for my mom to get color and wash (no cut), who has short and thin hair. When I asked for an explanation, she told me that the prices went up within the last year due to the minimum wage increase. The prices posted did NOT reflect the price given. As a result, we will NEVER return to the hair salon at Walmart-- unprofessional and not straightforward about pricing. read more

I recently decided to go to this salon every Friday to get a lil shampoo pampering. On my first visit, on a whim, I decided to get an A-line wedge instead of just a shampoo. The girl named Tara took me to her bowl and amazed me from then on. First, she did the wedge SPOT ON and with the proper technique. Then she did a handy dandy texturizing technique that impressed me. I went back the following Friday to carry out my initial intent...sweet shampooing. She did it like a pro. Wait....yaaay! I plan to see her for coloring too! read more

First off, I went in on a whim. I felt like getting my hair done that day and just went in to see what they offered. Tara and the manager were so helpful and patient. I was so indecisive and had nothing in mind. We looked through colors and talked about what we could do with my hair. Ended up being a great consultation and settled on an all over color and cut. I was so nervous and Tara was so patient with me. She did an amazing job and I can definitely say I will be back again. I called in to see if they thinned out hair and they did so I went in. Didn't have to wait long maybe 7-10mins at most and Susan did my hair. We discussed what I wanted and went with layers to help thin it out so when it grows out it doesn't look unhealthy thin at the bottoms. She was fantastic the whole time, patient and nice, answered any amd all questions and even explained why she would cut it a certain way or what product she used in my hair. I've always been weary about salons because of having more bad than good experiences but I would definately go here again. My hair feels and looks 1000x healthier. read more

My regular stylist is on maternity leave so decided to try Smart Style based on reviews. I apparently wasn't fortunate enough to receive services from one of the better stylists ( not named in any of the reviews). Mine was a nice person but I was shocked at her seemingly lack of skill, imagination and ability to offer advice &/or suggestions. She seemed very confused and unsure of herself which made me very nervous. I offered many pictures but walked out with nothing resembling what I wanted. I came home and had to cut off at least an inch from one side to even out my cut. She might be better with children's cuts or men's clipper cut. read more

I went here in hopes to make my hair a natural looking dirty blonde. It is naturally blonde, and was a light brown at the time. I attempted to dye it myself with a simple box dye at first, it didn't work so i went straight to the salon. I came in being very detailed how I wanted my hair. I figured if they had to bleach it might as well have someone who knows what they're doing right? Well they bleached it. Fried it- but definitely made it blonde. So blonde it was white. I called because I was so upset I spent so much money and my hair was so damaged just for me to look like Elsa from frozen. They had me come in again, free of charge and agreed to help me get to the blonde I wanted. I showed them samples of exactly the dirty blonde i wanted, just tone it down a bit. What happened? They turned it BROWN. My hair is brown. The same brown I had before I went in and even started this whole process. They were very nice every time I went in, but I just can't with this finished product. If you're looking to go blonde, definitely look somewhere else. This is not the place to go. read more
