After reading so many great reviews about Dare to Dye and Courtney, I decided to take a chance--and wow, did she deliver. When I sat down, I explained my situation and showed her photos of what I wanted. Courtney asked thoughtful questions about my current style, what I liked and didn't like, how much I wanted to cut, and my hair care routine. After talking it through, I trusted her to make the final call. She went a little shorter than I initially expected, but the result was cute, fresh, and exactly what my hair needed. I absolutely love it and have received so many compliments from family and coworkers. Don't let Courtney's young age fool you--she is a true professional and clearly knows what she's doing. On the day of I came in and was greeted by her and my stylist for the day, Jamie, who gave me a quick little tour around the salon before starting. Jaime, is extremely knowledgeable about the hair products the salon keeps in stock, and is more than happy to answer any questions or concerns you have before starting and during the process. Never once did I feel uncomfortable during the whole duration I was there and she was very understanding and attentive to my concerns regarding my scalp. She did a PHENOMENAL cut on my frizzy dried hair, and educated me on how to style it and which products to use to maintain it as well. lThese folks are miracle workers, thank you for everything! But I needed an appointment for an "updo" for a formal event and was booked with Jaime, for Jen was booked elsewhere. Fine by me, for I would trust anyone in Style & Grace. I see Jaime around the salon and she always radiates a bit of sunshine, professional expertise and badass female vibes every time I see her. This was my first appointment sitting in her chair and I kind of knew I was in the right hands. I absolutely did not want "mother of the bride, nor Holly Hobby teen" updo. I think I stated to Jaime the need for "I'm in mid 50's, skateboarding woman, needs formal hair that shows my edgy personality, yet stylishly on point and can last until I am out until 4am and possibly over served" updo style. All while in a formal gown. LOL! The kind of style that says you cared enough to have your hair professionally done, but also messy enough to let my personality show. She nailed it! Easy for Jaime to complete, but impossible for me to ever execute on my own. Thus always trust a professional, right? For almost the same amount of time I've been getting my extensions done by her, and the thickness and health of my natural hair has remained the same as before and after. Jung begins with a clean scissor cut and then utilized scalp treatment to protect my hair from the perm. Given the delivery of the final look, it is clear that Jung is very experienced and her input on what fit my face gave me the reassurance that I needed with changing my hairstyle. It was also surprising that the perm lasted 3 months each time since I have straight hair. Jung is very kind and personable during the hair service so each time I met with her was an enjoyable experience. Jung has also done some of my family member's hair as well!
