    Father and son training
    Mark R.

First of all, I'm not to be confused with the Mark S. that reviewed this on 9/8/2009, just thought I'd point that out. I literally just started training here near the end of March which is when they just started up the 7:30pm Tues and Thurs Muay Thai classes, and I have never felt better! Coming into the gym on my first night I got to talk to Chris and he was able to give me the lowdown on prices, which sounded very reasonable to me ($90/month with 1 year contract) he even offered me 2 free trial days to try out the classes. When I came in the following Thursday night I got to meet Evan who was very friendly even though I know this guys Pro MMA record is like 3-2-0 (1 NC) he was very approachable and very quick to answer any questions I had about the gym, technique, equipment, or even borrowing a book from his library, and the workout is definitely no joke, I haven't sweated like I did since... since never?! You just definitely have to try it out yourself, I think I overheard one of the members say they "felt like throwing up" after last mondays class and I agree I almost felt the same (luckily I didn't eat anything heavy lol). Also one big plus, I am a father to a 3 year old (4 years by this July) and Evan told me I can have my son hang around the gym while I trained, which was very cool and helpful when I don't have anyone that can watch him, he even let me use the focus mitts so that I can do some combos with my son (which he's getting better at after every visit to the gym) although he isn't old enough yet I will definitely be enrolling my son to the Kids Muay Thai (5-9 yr olds) as soon as he turns 5. Everything else has been covered by the other reviewers so I don't even need to get into that, my best advice is that you come in for your free trial class, and give this place a shot if you're looking to get back into shape or even get competitive (I might even start to fight competitively once I drop a few weight classes), and one thing I'd like to mention I used to be in a competitive Tae Kwon Do sparring team 2 years ago and comparing it to Muay Thai training would be an understatement.. True Fight Club's Muay Thai/Boxing Training is INTENSE and will work you!

I initially signed up for an 8-week challenge and then committed to an 18-month challenge because I instantly felt inspired by seeing how many calories I was burning in such a short amount of time. Prior to coming here, I inconsistently would go to the gym. I had zero discipline however since coming here, I have integrated bootcamp workouts into my daily routine, which I had NEVER thought I could do. If you are a beginner or getting back into your fitness, no matter where you are in your fitness journey, you should consider coming here. With your membership you have access to unlimited HIIT classes, so you can start off with one or double up. The HIIT classes change daily, and the class schedule has many options to choose from, which makes it easier to find a time that fits for you. The workouts can be challenging, yet fun, and you will walk away feeling accomplished. I love the structure of the class that offers a good balance of cardio and strength. The coaches and the supportive atmosphere got me, everyone is encouraging and the coaches do an amazing job keeping everyone motivated and engaged. The parking can be a bit challenging; with the move to the new location, I am excited to see the ongoing upgrades and appreciate the commitment by Trevon in enhancing the space. I highly recommend this boot camp to anyone looking to improve their fitness while having a great time!

I had no background in CrossFit or weightlifting and felt completely new to it all, but they explained the basics clearly, kept things motivating, and often stepped in to correct form so we built the right foundation. That gave me confidence and made the classes something I looked forward to instead of dreaded. Over time, I enjoyed Boot Camp so much that I moved into CrossFit. I'm still a beginner in CrossFit and probably will be for a while but my weight loss has accelerated since making the switch, and I've started feeling stronger, healthier, and more positive overall. So far, I've had classes with seven different coaches plus Brad, the owner, and every one of them has been dedicated, approachable, and engaged. Each coach has their own style, which makes it fun you pick up something new in every session. Brad himself is humble and very committed to building the kind of community that makes people want to keep coming back. The best part of this gym is the great community of coaches n people. It's full of people who push themselves, encourage each other, and make the hard work enjoyable. If you're looking for a place that challenges you but also supports you, CrossFit One World is it. Joining here has been one of the best decisions for my health and well-being.

Everyone there is so warm and welcoming, and there is no judgement there at all. There are so much laughter and chatter, it's always such a warm and fun atmosphere. I know it's seems almost impossible to wake up at 5am and be at the gym by 6am for exercise, but once you get into the rhythm of starting your day early and sleeping early, it does wonders for your body and energy! The pricing is also very affordable, and bootcamp membership is offered in chunks of 3-months/6-months/a year. I'm only be in California for an undetermined amount of time, and after expressing my concerns, Mitch was very understanding and accommodating, so we were able to find something for me. Time flies really fast during bootcamp, but what I really appreciate is that there's no pressure to do beyond what you're capable of, you can go at your own pace and no one will judge you. Dianne and Mitch both demonstrate each exercise so it's easy to follow along, and they keep track of how many sets of each exercise we do. One of the biggest things they emphasize is correct posture, so you don't accidentally injure yourself during exercise. I've walked out of gym feeling all my muscles aching (in a good way!!) and I definitely am feeling so much healthier and less antsy I recommended my sister to come here as well and today was her first day of PT. It's her first time going to a gym for exercise, so having a PT to personally guide her was a good choice. She said it was a little bit of a challenge but she appreciated how attentive they were to the exercises she could do and the ones she struggled with. Needless to say, this was a great choice for us!! Thank you so much!

The energy here is unmatched - the vibe is consistently positive, motivating, and welcoming. From the moment you walk in, the front staff makes you feel like part of the family, like Victoria, Francisco, Bon just to name a few! They're not just knowledgeable and professional, but they remember your name, celebrate your wins, and make every visit feel personal. Also, the coaches are top-notch, the workouts are consistently challenging and fun, and the community is strong. I've visited other OTF locations in the area, but Hayward has something special. Whether it's the way the coaches push you just the right amount, the upbeat playlists, or the camaraderie among members, this studio has created a space where fitness feels fun and empowering. It's the kind of place that makes you want to show up, even on the tough days and trust me, there are many tough days when you don't want to show up but once you walk into the office, the mood changes and it's GO Time! Huge thanks to the entire OTF Hayward team for creating such a welcoming and energizing space. If you're looking for a studio that blends great workouts with even better people, this is the one.

I'm keeping myself anonymous as I have witnessed first hand at a different studio the disrespect I've received over a critical "complaint" by staff. First and foremost Coach Erika and Coach Michael are incredible coaches. Hayward is extremely lucky to have Coach Erika here. Strength and attitude shows every-time she is behind the mic and her music slaps. Coach Michael is so incredibly focused on the members and corrects incorrect form to avoid injuries which is not seen in many OTF coaches often. He has saved me from a ton of back pain!! He is sadly not at the front desk anymore but Francisco is always a light to see not only was he helpful at the front desk but he is the same on the mic. WAY TO GO FRANCISCO! Valerie who is one of the girls at the front desk is also such a joy! Her kindness and incredible humor is the best pre workout you can get here. I don't take the early morning classes as much anymore but again such a joy to see as the first person you see walking in. Now here is my "critical complaint" the music in the afternoon is obnoxiously explicit in the lobby. I have never been to a group fitness class where when I walk in the first thing I hear is the f bomb and repeated uses of the n word. Very inappropriate. Garbages in both the lobby and the bathroom can be disgustingly full on the weekends and the afternoon. I would sometimes have to park near the plazas garbage to throw away my Celsius can or pre workout just because I cannot even stand looking at that garbage in the studio. I have sent emails regarding freezes and I would have to wait several days, longest time was 2 weeks to get an email response by a manager or assistant manager. Sometimes the freezes don't even get set up as I got charged for the month that I was suppose to be on freeze. I have noticed that they have gotten new managers, maybe retraining should be in order as the "assistant manager" does not act like one. Not very friendly or approachable, gives bland answers when asked questions and does not really have the spirit when it comes to a place like OTF and trust me I have been to multiple. The last straw was when I had asked the "manager" about unfreezing and the month that I was suppose to unfreeze never happened. I have decided to just stay back until my membership unfroze again. I have been going to my orangetheory classes regularly again here at Hayward since I had been going to the Alameda studio since my freeze and I try to make my schedule work to only make it in the mornings when it comes to Hayward. OTF Hayward is a charm but it needs to get its shine back.
