UPDATE 3am Hubby is on can 8am im on can 9am Hubby back on can A visit from the health inspector is a must! NO NO NO! When you open the mozz sticks and you get that OLD STALE STAGNANT dirty oil smell you know they DONT change the fry oil! Uuck yuck yuck NOT only did they go from 6 mozz just last week to 5 mozz this week and have the gahonas to charge $10.95 is INSANE! The calzone was super salty stuffed with mozz NOT ricotta top was basted in butter and SOOOO SALTY! The pizza was gross too PLEASE SMELL THE BOTTOM, it smells like an old shed, no lie! I give this place less then 6 months and the For Rent will be out! read more

Another one of those annual holiday get togethers with friends. This year we visited Smash'N Pizza (former location of Nonna Marie's). Smash'N Pizza a great little upbeat neighborhood pizzeria on Union Blvd. In Totowa feels fun from the second you walk in. It's the kind of spot that's just as good for a casual slice as it is for a laid‑back burger with friends. The room is limited in size but buzzing, with bright red and black splashed across the walls, a few chairs and tables, and décor carefully planned so the whole space feels energetic and modern. Logos and graphics are scattered throughout, giving the restaurant a playful, branded vibe that makes it look and feel like a cool little Italian hangout rather than a typical slice joint. Pizza, which we shared as an appetizer is the star, with pies that come out hot, crisp, and flavorful, piled with fresh toppings if that's your choice, and a sauce that tastes like it was made that morning. As for me, I always prefer a plain cheese pie. Right alongside the pizza, the burgers were surprisingly fantastic too, juicy and well‑seasoned, and the menu branches out into plenty of other tempting choices to accomodate everyone's taste. I tried the double cheeseburger, along with fries and onion rings, and would certainly recommend giving it a try. Service and hospitality were on point, quick and friendly. And being greeted like a regular, even on my first visit, and checking in often without hovering was appreciated. The overall atmosphere made the place feel welcoming and relaxed, turning a quick lunch into the kind of experience people look forward to repeating. Smash'n Pizza just opened up and I had to stop by for the grand opening event! The staff is super welcoming and friendly, has the vibe of an old school pizza place with a modern edge. I got the smash'n house burger, onion rings, wings, chicken tenders and fries. (Don't judge me, I was hungry!) Smash burger was great, their smack sauce is out of this world on it, I would ask for extra on the side next time. Wings were delicious, great bite, crunchy and just pulled apart. Tenders were definitely to my liking, paired great with the smack sauce as well! And what's there to say about onion rings and fries? I never had one I didn't like. Just okay! Burgers were tasty but on the greasy side. Pizza is just okay, especially for this part of jersey. Pricing is decent and service was good. This is a greasy, cheat day meal for sure if that is what you are looking for. read more

My first visit of the had a single burger, cheese fries and an order of wings with BBQ sauce. To my surprise more food than I could eat. Everything tasted great. My second visit i got their cheese steak. It tasted like i made it at home on my grill. It had a little heat to it and slices of pepper and onions with a ton of meat all under melted cheese. I also got tenders and two slices of grand ma pizza. The cheese steak was so big I couldn't eat the others. I'll let you know on the next review. I have to start off with the food was fantastic, like a true smash burger. I got the double onion smash, and my husband got the double regular smash. Cooked perfectly, perfect crust, melty cheese, smashed onions, 10/10. These are true smash burgers. I got the bacon jam cheese fries. Bonus points for being shoe string fries. The basket was GIANT. I'm thinking for $9 it's gonna be light on the bacon and cheese. NO. These fries were SAUCED! My husband got the specialty fries of the week the Chimichurri fries. He loves Chimichurri and he housed the burger, the fries and then got a slice to go. We travelled about an hour and a half to get here because I saw their Instagram videos and the food just looked too good to not try and they seemed like they have fun there. We spoke with the owner Rob who came out to check on everyone eating in. Which who does that anymore? That blew my mind! You can tell this guy takes pride in what he's doing. Apparently they've only been opened a little over a month yet there was a guy in there with his kids and the owners asking him about their kid's sports and all that. It was packed when we walked in at 1pm on a Sunday. This place is going to be a neighborhood spot I can tell just by the vibe and how the owner was genuinely customer focused. He was so kind to hook us up with some treats for the road which was a total shock. (Thank you!!!) Even if the food was terrible (which it was NOT, I'm giving this spot 5 stars) the staff, and owner would redeem that. We will ABSOLUTELY be back without a doubt. read more

There are 2 owners a tall guy and a short guy. They're both really cool and extremely jolly. So right when you walk in you're welcomed. I've had a few things now besides what I posted. I'll say all their slices are great. The motz sticks, fries, & onion rings are a good addition to your meal. Grilled chicken sandwich is good too don't be afraid to try it just bc you're at a burger/pizza joint. I'd say it's my fav slice in the town. Went here after seeing videos online and very impressed. The service was amazing and the food was incredible. Their onion smash burger was really nicely cooked and seasoned. Their onion rings were homemade and so crispy. The milkshake and the banana pudding was some of the best I've ever had. Not too sweet yet so delicious. Then I had their mozzarella burger which was hot at first but tasty after it cooled down. Alright, why did it take me this long to try this place. The pizza is spot on but the star of the show was their burgers - holy hell, phenomenal. This doesn't diminish the pizza by any means - the pizza is fantastic, but being a pizza and burger joint (amongst other things), you'd think one would be far superior than the other. Nope, not here. What a wonderful restaurant! the food was absolutely delicious and there was a small miscommunication on my part with my order (entirely my fault, I misspoke) so they offered to remake my order no charge and gave me a coupon for a free lunch. I think the place is going to do very well. I have been there a few times now since they opened and I have been really pleased with everything I have tried so far. The staff and owners are really nice people. There's parking there which is a nice plus in this congested town. On to the food, my family and I love it!! Who's smashin Nonna is excellent. Nice crust tons of flavor and not too heavy. We also tried the nonna with the honey spicy pepperoni which was amazing. I love that they use the small pepperonis. I have tried their regular smash the bacon jam smash and the newly added Italian smash. They were all delicious. My favorite was the bacon jam smash. The Italian smash was a fun experience, don't order on a first date it's def a messy burger lol but it's an experience worth having. We also did the garlic knots today and like everything else we loved it. I highly recommend giving this place a shot. There are a few really good pizza spots in this town. I feel like each of them have something that makes them stand out enough from the other. Smash n pizza is another really awesome pizza and burger spot that stands out as its own experience. Very interesting concept which is what first drew me to this place. I was greeted by the brother/sister owner / operator duo. After some conversation about how there business is going and how they have been in the restaurant business for a long time with heavy ties to the Jersey shore pizza industry, it was time to give there smash burgers and wings a shot. I took the food to go and the owner threw in a homemade pastry. After just one bite I knew that this place was not only ran by great people but was serving a great product. From the bun to the pickles to the even spiciness of the wings, All the little aspects of the meal were great. the quality of the wings and the tenderness of the burger aloud all the big aspects of the meal to just make a perfect product. Most places you get one or the other, either the big or little things are done well. When a restaurant can get both right and have great customer service it's just makes for an amazing experience.
