Convenient location in Durham. The food came out quickly, but it was basically packaged as to go and you could find a table if you wanted. I went with the bbq bacon smash burger. It was pretty good, just just missing a pop. I don't if it wasn't enough bbq or onions or the bacon lacked flavor, but it was missing something. Not grease, though, it had the greasiness! And that's what you'd expect from a "smash burger." The rosemary fries were great! Crispy, crunchy, and a nice rosemary touch. Excellent fries.

    5 CHICKEN TENDERS FRENCH FRIES

I came here to grab a snack. I remember the tenders being good at another Smashburger I had been to in DC. They were great. Got a 5 piece with regular fries. The fries were McDonald's-like being thin and long. Overall, great food. The price was reasonable-ish at $12 and change for the two orders. I don't know if I'll come back...so much else to try and nothing here made me want to come back in the future.

Came here during lunch break with a few coworkers from Hock. They make the burgers fresh and I really enjoyed mine. The cashier didn't get irritated with me when I changed my order three times while ordering because everything looked so yummy. I like that they offer the single patty or the double patty, if you're hungrier. Our burger and sides were brought to us fairly quickly, probably in about ten minutes. I got the mushroom swiss burger and it was so good. It was very filling, also. I stole some of my friend's tots and they were also good. I would like to try the fries in the future and definitely the burger with the brisket.

Terrible service. No greeting coming or going. The girl taking orders was clueless and on her phone most of the time. She brought out one burger to our table of two. She left the other one in the window under the heat lamp. If she were any slower, she would be going in reverse. So I had to get my own burger out of the window. What appears to be the owner is smothered in apathy. Over priced, poor service. Wall paper is stained and peeling. Looks unsanitary. More like TRASHBURGER. Go to 5 guys instead.

One of the best burgers I've EVER had. Ever. All places have struggled after Covid so I'm not gonna crucify them for issues that are out of their control. Considering the context, and being realistic for the establishment, the burger is amazing. Keaton is a great manager and when he's in the building I can guarantee my burger and fries are gonna be "chef's kiss" every time. My burger is always tasty. I leave full and happy.

Close-up of employee touching food whilst breathing her germs on it, in a pandemic.
She Who Must Naught Be Named H.

I'm livid at how casually the employees take masks. There's no point stacking furniture, putting tape on the floors and adding a barrier in front of the register when masks are optional. I went there for the first time on April 16 with my husband. The woman who made my shake had her mask below her nose. I asked if she could pull it up please. She rolled her eyes at me, but did it. By the time she turned around with my husband's shake, the mask was down again. Being disgusted, I spoke to the manager, Ketan. I explained what she did with her mask (I left out the attitude). He made a weak excuse about how 'masks shift when working'. I then reiterated that she pulled it up, and 2 minutes later it was down again. He shrugged his shoulder, mumbled something and walked off. I will never eat here again. If you take safety seriously, you should avoid it too. If this is their standard in a pandemic, I can't imagine how nasty they are normally. I will mention the kitchen staff were both wearing masks properly. So food was safe until it hit the packaging window.

SLOWEST FAST FOOD CHAIN IVE EVER BEEN TO. 30min making a burger and a medium fries, not including the ordering time! Don't waste your time and patience unless you are dying for a burger indulgence and you have nowhere else to go to.

I was hoping I would not be disappointed. Downtown Durham on Parrish Street I do believe. I went there midday and there was a sparse lunch crowd already seated when I arrived. The warmly lit space presents nice aesthetic as you walk into the restaurant. A very chill and comfortable atmosphere. I love the bar and the mirrored wall nestled behind it. The spot is pretty laidback and very clean, but has a bit of a rustic nuance to it as well. I like that. The serving staff were extremely nice and helpful towards advising me in making my selection -- with me being a first-timer and all. I kept it simple...I chose the Classic Burger (pink) with pepper jack cheese, bacon marmalade, and as a side, I had to go with the Dirty Fries -- 'cause that's how I roll y'all. About the food: I have to say, the burger was staunchly built and crafted with artistry. Nice and tall with a seriously tasty bun encapsulating everything. Perfectly well-seasoned meat and the first bite was simply delightful. I noticed as I got towards the center of the meat, it was bit less juicy than the surrounding parts of the burger, but nevertheless still tasty. My Dirty Fries were delicious In the end; the experience as a whole was quite delightful and I would definitely like to go there again -- perhaps try a different burger to expand upon my experience with this place. Something that I'm legally obligated to keep quiet about... but let tell you- this burger was Gooood. This "Signature Secret Burger" was rather unique, as it was like you took a pretty simple egg burger, and just ramped it up. My initial thought when I first tried it was that it was a burger squared, the mystery ingredients amplified the flavor to make such a savory meal. It wasn't to overbearing like many other burger places that I've visited, not immediately making me feel fat and full after taking a few bites. Our party also ordered a whole quart of fries, and they were SO GOOD!!! I'm a sucker for good fries, and you knocked this out of the park! Your fry soft was nice and mellow and complimented the fries perfectly. (And even afterwards, the fries warmed up really well and were still Really freakin' good!) Finally, during my visit, their anniversary event (Happy 15th By The Way ) and they were offering FREE DESSERT for someone who happened to sit in a randomly chosen seat. It was cooked precisely to my specified medium, with a flavorful patty and nice structural integrity throughout. The tater tots were basically as good as they come. We paired the meal with IPAs - Dancing with the Bulls and Bull in a Bottle Shop - both of which held up well against the richness of the food and worked particularly well with the burger. I had high hopes, but there is reason why fries made from fresh potatoes aren't widely offered at restaurants and it's mostly bc they have so much water content and easily come out soggy. And these came out exactly that way - soggy and limp. The chicken sandwich I ordered was a special, limited time offering, and it was also ok. It was advertised as having a slaw on top and that's a strong word for what was served. When I think slaw, I think robust, crunchy veggies with some vinegar bite and while I got a bit of that, it wasn't enough to balance out the fried, savoriness of the breaded chicken patty and bbq sauce.
