After a late night out I was just craving a good burger. Smashburger did not disappoint. I got the truffle and jalapeño burger and they both definitely hit the spot. The truffle flavor was prominent which I enjoyed. The jalapeño burger has just enough spice and texture from the crunchy jalapeño pieces. The service was quick and the person taking the order was quick to answer any questions and was patient as we were a bit indecisive. We stopped in here on Sunday afternoon about 2 o'clock for lunch. I've never been to Smashburger before so this is our first instance. I will say the burger was really good. I got the double cheese. I really did not like the rosemary tots and they were three dollars and some change and you didn't get a whole lot so I didn't like those too much. The burger was good like I said but it was over $10 after tax just for it. My dad got the same thing except with fries and my daughter got a kids meal and it was almost 40 bucksis why I would give us a three just because the price does not match the food that we got to be honest. Atmosphere was OK floors were very slippery and greasy so they really needed to clean those cause somebody could fall but for some kind of coupon or something because it was expensive, but the burger was good. read more

Would have loved to try the food! After waiting in line while the cashier socialized with fellow employees he finally took the order of the one guest in front of me. He immediately went back to ignoring the growing line and started socializing again. While I've seen Smashburger here for many years, I'd never eaten there. After an appointment nearby my husband recalled having eaten at a Smashburger when traveling once and that he had liked it. So, a lunch stop we did! While short staffed, ordering was easy once someone was available to take our order. I went with the original Smashburger minus onions with shoestring fries and a drink. I ordered the double bacon Smashburger for my husband with fries and drink. Because burgers are made fresh, never frozen, and likely also due to staffing, it took quite awhile to receive our food but it was well worth the wait. From the delicious bun to the ripe flavorful tomato and just the right amount of pickle rounds, the sauce, and the shredded lettuce (why don't more places do shredded lettuce vs the huge leaf lettuce on burgers?!) my original Smashburger was excellent! The shoestring fries weren't hot by the time I got them but were edible, and I'm sure would be tastier if hot or at least warm. My husband really liked his burger also and despite the $30 tab for the two burgers, fries, drinks we were okay with the price for the quality delicious burgers. read more

This was the first time we ate at a Smashburger. Were disappointed and won't go back. To start off, it was a 92 degrees F day. Walked into the store and it was 92F. The air conditioning was out. No sign on the door warning those who planned on dining in. No open door to keep it from being so stuffy. No fans brought in by management to help. No acknowledgement of how hot it was until we brought it up. We had no option but to sit outside. Besides, inside the bland, undecorated restaurant all you could hear was the cashier employee talking loudly to the kitchen crew through the serving window about every take-out order. It would not have made a pleasant dining experience no matter what the temperature. We ordered 2 types of single burgers, two types of single fries and 2 regular size soft drinks. One burger was ordered with just mayo and cheese. They couldn't get that simple order right and left off the mayo. One fry order was the sweet potato waffle. One fourth of them were burned to a crisp. Price after tax was $30! For not much more than that we could have gone to an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. read more

I ordered a smashburger and a large fry for delivery. I left instruction to leave at front door no need to knock as I'm able to track exactly when the delivery is here. When I open the door it was a downpour. The driver (from doordash who was handling the delivery) instead of opening my screen door and putting it in between my screen door and my front door just left it on the porch so when I picked up the bag it was soaking wet the fries fell out the hamburger fell out all on my porch so I got soaking wet cleaning the food off of my porch and now have nothing to eat. I called smashburger and they said that they can refund my order it'll take 3 to 5 days but they can't do anything about the $7 delivery charge and the tip that I left the driver. read more

We had to go to sign some paperwork. So on the way back to my husbands work we saw smashburger was close. I got the bbq bacon cheeseburger with no bacon, extra bbq and crispy onions and a large fry. My wife got the BBQ bacon burger with regular fries.I got the classic double with the smash fries. Let me say that both fries were great! I tried hers, and they had the right amount of salt. Mine was notched up, and the taste was out of this world! My wife loved her burger. I have never seen her eat so fast. I had to wait till I got back to work to eat mine. It was good, it was different. I don't know if it was the best, but it was in the top five. One reason I love smashburger is because the food is so fresh! I came here over the weekend and got a grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and everything was fresh and delicious. My family got burgers and salad and enjoyed them as well. The service was fast and all employees were friendly and helpful. Of all the higher-level burger restaurants, Smashburger has always been my favorite. Well, to be honest, after Meatheads, but they're not around here so I'm going with Smashburger for the sake of this conversation. On a recent Thursday they were running a "Buy any double burger, get a Spicy Baja Double Free" special. It's like it was custom made for me. I didn't take much to nudge my wife into dinner at Smashburger. I knew what I was having when we walked in, and that Spicy Baja burger was all I could think about. My wife had never had one but said it sounded good (talk about making my head swim!) so she ordered one! For my side I had the brussel sprouts and she had the everloving awesomeness that is the sweet potato fries. #GreatStuff Izzy took our orders and even put with my dumb jokes. #WhatATrooper Not even ten minutes later we were mowing on those Spicy Baja burgers. (mostly...wifey gave me her fresh jalapeños...and I thank her for that). I was pleasantly surprised at the brussel sprouts. The store was clean and well-stocked when we arrived there was someone in the dining room taking care of a couple of recently vacated tables. The location of this Smashburger is a bit of a challenge, being located right off the intersection of Hurstbourne and Shelbyville roads. The hard part isn't getting there, the hard part is getting out. Sure there's a driveway that takes you out on Hurstbourne, but you're taking your chances if you want to turn left. Awful. First off they messed up my order that I waited over 20 minutes in store for after placing 20 minutes prior online. They had 2 customers in there as well as me which I got there before and placed an online order but got mine last and got the wrong burgers. Also my burgers were completely burnt and not even edible. We use to eat here it was really good. But it has gone way down. My husband ordered a milkshake and didn't get it until he was over half way done with his meal. And it was more like chocolate milk. I saw the three star review(s) here on their yelp page, I thought we would take those reviews with a grain of salt but BOY.. was I wrong, they put too much pepper in their food. Sure pepper/salt might bring out some flavor but taking a bite out of the burger is as if you are dipping each bite into a mountain of pepper. I have eaten my last Smashburger. We were coming to Louisville to drop off a friend for his ride home and decided to take him to smash because he does not have it at home. What a disappointment. The taste is exactly the same. It's the portion size that has dropped. In no way is that burger worth $8 and $4 for a meal upgrade including a small drink and haystack onions. They have a fantastic rewards program that occasionally offers double points, BOGO, and more. I love that they offer Gluten Free buns. Unfortunately, it's an up-charge to switch your bun. I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants but Smash Burger USED to be one of them. I've quickly fallen out of love with them. I like the idea of building your own burger and I tolerated the long wait betwixt ordering the burger of my fat kid dreams and it arriving at my table. The last two times I've been my order has been wrong. On my most recent visit I doubled checked my receipt before saying something (as I wouldn't hold your feet to the fire if something was lost in translation) and when my burger was sent back (they could have just brought me the missing cheese) we could hear and see the temper tantrum from the kitchen. By the time my burger reappeared everyone else was done with their food - after being faced with a tough fat kid problem: do I politely wait for everyone's food to arrive and let mine get cold OR eat my tasty burger while I awkwardly watch them eat before reversing roles. My mother's burger was also not at all what she ordered. She knew better than to send it back to the kitchen. On this visit one of the reasons it took so long for the line to progress is that one of the cashier had to step out of line to transact a drug deal. This is exactly the lunch you want to have when you've taken the day off to chauffer your mother on her errands. I only regret I didn't have my kids with me so they could join in on the awkwardness. One normally waits until they've cleared the line to transact personal business and keeps criminal activity to their own time; or has the common sense to be discrete. I cannot imagine being back; I'm not going to pay sit-down restaurant prices for less-than-McDonald's service and criminal activity. read more
