We picked up burgers and fries for family dinner, all of us sticking to only one burger patty. It is enough, I promise. The burgers are filling and I loooooove their crispy fries. Don't forget that Five Guys is known for tossing extra fries in the bag. There's no need to over order. I'm not a fan of visiting Five Burgers. The food was very good. The service was as you would expect. The machine asked for a tip which I hate. The prices were too high for a burger and fry joint. Also, I was aggravated that the only way to have ketchup for my fries was to open 20 little packets. When I eat in I expect to have a dispenser or at least bigger containers of ketchup. read more

Five Guys is, if nothing else, reliable.  From the metric ton of peanuts that's present in every store to the oversized fries (cajun, please!) you always know what you're getting when you visit Five Guys. One of the things I both like and dislike about Five Guys is menu choices.  I love that you build your own burger.  The menu is a list of items to add to your burger as you choose.  There are no pre-defined menu items.  You get to build your own bridge.  At the same time, sometimes my brain doesn't want to be a bridge builder, it just wants to look at a menu and pick a number. You have two choices for fries:  Regular and Cajun.  Jim's handy tip:  Get The Cajun.  And be hungry.  You'll get more fries (even when order a small) to feed 8 or 12 people.  I'm not joking. (ok...exaggerating maybe).  The fries are cut fresh from fresh potatoes in the store several times a day, which makes them just about my favorite. We've visited this location a number of times and it's always been a good visit.  The staff is always hustling to keep the food moving and trying to keep up with the dining room.  On occasion things have been low (drink lids, straws), but they're quite to rectify those issues.  We've never encountered a problem and the order-taker can answer any questions you may have. The red and white decor is fun and harkens back to the  soda fountain/burger joint days when people wore paper hats and aprons.  The overhead music is a good blend of old and new, and is not too loud.  The walls are decorated with newspaper articles from across the country singing Five Guys praises. Five Guys burgers are cooked when ordered, not like some other places.  Sure, it's going to take you a few minutes to get your food, but you'll know that it's fresh because you can watch the entire process.  Not all burger places give you that kind of visibility. Now that I think of it, with the massive amount of fries you get they could easily change the name of this chain to Fries Guys and no one would notice (other than the sign makers).  :) read more

I like this burger joint but it suffers from a few drawbacks that I feel are limiting its patrons. First of all is the limited parking and restricted availability. It is located just off the 265 interchange in Middletown but is a bear to navigate to with one of the longest traffic lights in the city. It also has stiff competition with several nearby restaurants (Double Dogs and Chipotle on either side). The meal is always prepared fresh and has a variety of toppings. You can also load up on in-the-shell roasted peanuts. The place is always clean and the staff courteous. I got a bad feeling though they are being squeezed out! read more

God, thank you for blessing me with Five Guys. I remember when I used to live in Orlando and there was only one - I constantly wished we would maybe have one in Kentucky one day, but the chances of that seemed to be the same as In N' Out coming to the East Coast. Then my dream came true and Five Guys multiplied all around the Ville. For a fast food joint, the quality of their food is great. It's a small menu, but what's on there is all that you need - burgers and fries. Everything is cooked with peanut oil so it gives a better flavor, and you get quite a lot, even for a small size. The way the fries are seasoned and the juicy, tenderness of their burgers just make my mouth water. The price can be a tad steep at around $11-$13, but you're getting great quality. One of my favorite fast food chains! If they had a drive thru I'd reaaallly be in trouble! read more

I have never been to a Five Guys. I ate here this last Fathers Day after stopping first at Qdoba and then Chipotle only to be told at both places that they were not taking 'walk-in/dine-in' orders... I guess due to being short-handed. But Five Guys right next to Chipotle was up and running full service. First thing was figuring out what I wanted. There are no 'combo meals' to chose from so you choose your burger, fries, drink all separately. Not a big deal except for if you just order a 'cheeseburger, medium fries and Coke', you will wind up with a massive, double-patty burger and medium drink cup suffed FULL of fries! This is easily enough food for two people. When ordering at Five Guys, you actually MUST order the SMALL burger and/or fries to get what would be considered 'normal-sized' portions anywhere else. I figured the 'small' sizes were more like 'children's' menu items. When I placed my order and paid, I was at the time a bit shocked that it came to approx $16 for my burger, fries and drink. However, when I got my order and saw how much food it actually was, I was more (but not totally) accepting of the price. I could not eat it all. As for the food itself, it was fine. I felt the burger (while massive) was a little on the bland side. I was hoping for more of a charred or grilled flavor. For comparison, I think Smashburger has a much more flavorful burger, but it is also much smaller... ah, life is a never ending series of tradeoffs. The order of medium fries (which was also massive) was way too salty. I can add salt if necessary but these were literally encrusted in salt. I had to scrape salt off to make them palatable. With excess salt removed, they were actually very good. Just please lighten up on the salt. The staff members were all very friendly and courteous. Service was fast and the dining room and restroom was clean and stocked. I think it is a pretty good deal if you take someone along to split the fries and burger, at least of the size I ordered. Ordering is also a little confusing for new-comers as portions do not correspond to traditional item descriptions you find just about everywhere else. Overall, it was fine but I will be sure to order the 'small' sizes next time or split my order with a dining companion. read more

One of the highlights of my undergrad experience was the Five Guys that opened up down the road from campus, and when moving here, I was sad to not have one close by to my first apartment. HOWEVER! Now being in the Hurstbourne area, I was able to FINALLY get my Five Guy fix and boy, it is as good as it gets! This location is coupled with other food places, like Yang Kee Noodle and Comfy Cow. So, temptation is all around you! I went in on Wednesday evening for dinner to go, and was surprised how empty it was! I am so used to waiting in line forever for their burgers! Now, when it comes to this menu, you need to understand that everything is BIG, like, a single cheeseburger is HUGE and a double cheeseburger is MASSIVE. Keep this in mind! I always get a single cheeseburger, since you can just top it with ALL THE INGREDIENTS. I mean, everything and anything! They have your basic toppings (ketchup, mustard, etc.) they also have hot sauce, onions, mushrooms and much more! The possibilities are endless and don't you forget those fries! Getting a small fry will pretty much give you a big ole bag of fries, for these guys always "top" off the fry bag. Man, all in all, everything is just BIG here! The food is wonderful and I never had any problems with it! The service at this location was excellent and I am so pleased that it's close by, but I am afraid I'll be picking up some pounds I really don't need. Haha! One of my favorite burger chains. Burgers just have a good fresh beefy flavor you don't get at most chains. And I love the fries and peanuts. Coke flavor machine gives provides a lot of beverage options. Location is clean and quick. When you want a good greasy burger this is a go to. They are so cheesy and greasy and awesome snd the fresh cut fries are great too. It can seem a little pricey for what you get but the burgers are huge. It sometimes is a little messy inside from the peanut shells everywhere. read more

This place has gotten whipped into shape in the last month. I had stopped coming here cause the food went downhill as did the attitude. One of my coworkers ordered grubhub from there last week and it looked amazing. After work, I stopped by omw home as I used to do once a week, and I was absolutely floored. Store is spotless, they acknowledge you before you're even two steps in the door, the guy at the counter was super friendly and welcoming, the crew was having a good time and the attitude behind the counter is a total 180 from my last trip in. They were fast, my fries were fresh, it all came out in about 4 minutes... I can't say enough about how great my service was. I deleted my previous review and hope this helps y'all get more business. They dont actually offer curbside pickup at this location, despite their advertisements suggesting otherwise. Their phone is off the hook so you cant tell them when you arrive, meaning you have to go inside. If we had known takeout was their only option we would not have gone. Five Guys has historically been one of my least favorite chains and after stopping here for lunch I still stand by that statement. It's not like anything is terrible. Everyone working there was nice and the place was clean when we stopped at 11:15AM. The menu and the prices just aren't good. A single bacon cheeseburger and a drink costs $10 and the value just isn't there. I get that it's fresh meat and all, but the patty is cooked well done so what's the point? I also hate ordering here. There are so many toppings with the only guidance being the 'all the way' option. Give me five suggested burgers for the five guys so I'm not stresses out trying to think about what goes well together. The fries are only fried once so they are always kind of soggy. A large quantity of fries does not make them good and the Cajun seasoning just tries to cover up how average they are. As always, there are plenty of restaurants near this place so I can't think of why you would want to come here to eat. If you insist on visiting, at least ask for the grilled jalapeños which aren't on the board. It's probably the best topping they have. read more

I ordered in store on a busy Sunday after church. The place was hopping and so were the staff. I waited with other customers watching the crew complete their tasks, making sure everyone's order was exact. They were working hard. During my most recent visit to the Middletown, Kentucky location I placed my order for a double cheeseburger & chocolate milkshake. The young man who was preparing my order seemed dazed & confused as he was preparing orders. While I can appreciate a learning curve, he's just cooking burgers & fries. The meat was cooked, the cheese barely melted as I suspect it was not placed on the meat while it was being grilled. but just placed on the bun before wrapping. The grilled onions were warm, not grilled. Tasty but too cruncy for my taste. My milkshake must have been sitting around as by the time I received it , it was thin and watery with the consistency of chocolate milk This was an order placed "to-go" so I didn't have the opportunity to return it nor would want to wait another 10 minutes for a replacement. I consider Five as a premium quality/priced fast food not the same as a sit-down restaurant with personal service. Very disappointed in the quality for the price. Probably won't return. read more

This was my first experience with this chain. The location has a ton of places to shop around it, even an ice cream place right around the corner. The food was delicious, the portions were huge. I did not realize that their burgers had two patties on them, so I definitely had more food than I could eat! The fries and chocolate shake were excellent.
