This place was hopping for a Friday lunch! The food was delicious and fresh. The staff was clearly very busy keeping up with the orders but one particular employee stood out to me. She had glasses and chin length gray hair. The name on my receipt said her name may have been Kathleen? That woman is amazing. She was working as a cashier handling the line, she was working expo, she was wiping off tables... she seemed fully aware and in control of everything was happening in the dining room and in the kitchen and truthfully, she was ABSOLUTELY KILLING IT. Oh man it is back! The ones near us had closed. I'm not sure what the story is, but this new Smashburger has a prime location and the food did not fail us. I tried the Double Mushroom Truffle burger with rosemary fries and my wife had the classic double bacon cheeseburger, add avocado. Both burgers were served so hot we had to be careful eating them. Juicy, and delicous. Slightly crispy patties. The sauteed mushrooms and truffle oil was so earthy, and went well with the rosemary. The sweet hawaiian style buns hold up well to the moisture too. I love burgers of all kinds, but we missed this. Staff was moving quickly and politely. We had a small technical glitch paying, but they handled it well. They were busy, but seemed to be a well-oiled machine already. We will be back soon. read more

I was asked by comment on my review to contact them via email to try and make things right and I emailed them a week ago and still no response. I do not appreciate it when a business tres to make things right but then fails to see it through until the end. If they weren't going to do the proper follow-up, then they shouldn't have left me a message on my review in the first place. Granted I emailed them sometime after they left the comment, but this doesn't excuse them for never responding to my email. It is also important to note that the order came with a small piece of paper that said for any feedback to email them on so and so address. This location is the worst. Everytime I try this place there is an issue. Forget the fact I paid $3.299 for 10 tater tots, they actually gave my order to someone else who took it out of the building for at least 5 minutes. They refused to recook or refund. Got to try a burger/fries thanks to Yelp elite! Full disclosure- I accidentally went here on the wrong date and I ended up ordering anyway, so in the two times going, I can say that I'm a fan overall. As they're still a pretty new opening, they are still getting their bearings. On top of COVID procedures as well, I would say that the staff is doing the best they can possibly do. Everyone is super friendly and very attentive, so major points there. The food: I can honestly say this is one of the better fast casual burgers I've had. I just got a regular single burger, but there are so many different types you can choose from. It's a little bit confusing if you're just wanting a simple burger, but if you say that you just want a single, the person working the register should know what you're talking about. If you're traveling a farther distance, the fries sadly do not hold up for more than 15 minutes. Overall, this is a great, fast burger addition to this area. Came here last nite, what a disaster. Ordered three burgers with GRILLED onions and didn't realize it was an up charge. Fine, my fault for not asking but guess what, no grilled onions ! 4 bucks gone. I am only giving four stars for one reason. My wife doesnt eat beef. Their seasoning has beef in it. When looking at the ingredients, their seasoning has, "beef fat" & "dried beef". Idk what it is with Smashburger locations but each time I go to one, the staff are overworked and unavailable for taking my order. It should neither be a such thing as a customer standing at a franchise branded restaurant for longer than 5 minutes before anyone could take your order. In this case, the cashier stopped me from taking my order to assist in the back with multiple men who couldn't do what she was able to do in the 5 minutes I wanted to take my order. This Restaurant just opened. Everything was clean, the staff was friendly and all wearing mask & They offer hand sanitizing wipes. Service was fast considering it was there grand opening but You can order ahead either online or by the app. The menu is full of delightful items, something for everyone's appetite. I love love the Turkey Burgers from Smash Burgers. It's fresh, flavorful and every bite leaves you wanting more. Seriously, I've tried a ton of Turkey burgers and nothing compares. This was our second time at the Smashburger while visiting here in Schaumburg, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The food is good and I like that they also offer turkey burgers for those that don't eat red meat but like a burger sometimes. This time they also had brussels sprouts as a side option and we tried those. They were pretty good as well. My husband and I both ordered a milkshake. I had mine remade because it was a little too much milk But didn't have any problem getting it remade and the second one was much better so if you like your milkshakes thick, and you visit here just asked for it to be made extra thick! One of the drawbacks I would say is they don't have combo meals and everything is à la carte, making it a little bit more pricey But overall it's a very good option for lunch or dinner. Also, the staff was friendly and the restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. I believe Vanessa took our order and she told us she had just started working there, she did an awesome job and asked us if everything was good and told us to have a great rest of our day! Glad they opened one in Schaumburg. I really like their Chicken BLT. It's so tasty and filling. Their bacon is a tad saltier which I like. I also get a side of their sweet potato fries made just right with some crisp to it but still softer on the insides. Finally add a fountain drink which I got the pomegranate açaí drink and it was the perfect meal. Service was really friendly. The cashier and particularly Anne was very helpful and courteous in taking my order. Food was ready in about 5 mins. Everyone was wearing masks and they gave my order in a bag and off I went. Happy Yelp Elite event! This is the first time I've ever been to a Smashburger. The concept of a smashburger is interesting: a meat patty that's flattened and grilled on the both sides. You get true delicious caramelization on both sides of the patty. When restrictions start to loosen up, I can see the restaurant being a good place for a sit down or an after work hangout bc of the drink offerings and the ambiance the store set up for the customer. The event gave us the option to pick whatever single you wanted with your choice of side and a drink. There was an eclectic list of burgers to choose from. My tried the modified single mushroom truffle Swiss burger with the smash tots. We went for the bleu cheese instead of the Swiss just because of the substitution option. I cannot resist a bleu cheese, and theirs bleu me away. Pungent, deep, and tangy! Their smash tots weren't something to scoff at neither! The rosemary garlic seasoning, uff too delicious! Only caveat was they forgot to get our orders to us after we saw a few people pass us, but you know what it happens and I'm not one to have a small thing like that affect the overall quality of the food and the restaurant. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger along with some Smash tots as my Yelp meal. Also ordered a Baja Guacamole Burger, Smash fries and Haystacks! Everything was delicious. I order one burger a single and one a double just to see the difference in size. Would definitely recommend getting a double. The buns are flavorful and I love the rosemary, garlic and olive oil they had to the "smash" sides! I look forward to when we can dine in so that I can taste everything fresh! First. Smashburger makes a great hamburger. The problem is they never have enough staff, and end up being very slow. This is not based on 1 visit, but every time I go there. This was my first and last time I eat at Smashburger. I placed in an order online and immediately ran into problems. I tried 4 times to add the Reese's peanut butter shake with no whip cream, add oreo, add chocolate. Every time the addons were removed. I went to pick up the order and explained the issue and was told that they can only scrape off the whip cream as the other addons would mess up their inventory. I gave up and left with two incorrect milkshakes. This issues continued after I got home. I ordered a double avocado burger, double classic burger, and a classic grilled chicken sandwich, a regular smash fries, and a large smash fries. I was given a classic burger instead of a grilled chicken sandwich. The burgers tasted bland as if no seasoning was used on the patties, the buns were soggy from all the grease, and the milkshakes tasted like nothing but milky peanut butter and not even the flavor of Reese's peanut butter. I understand the ice cream would not even taste like vanilla ice cream since vanilla was an addon. My girlfriend and I were both disappointed and decided this place is way over priced for the taste and the quality of service we received. read more

First time at Smashburger and definitely the LAST. Order taking service is HORRIBLE. They definitely need more personnel. The cashier who takes your orders is also taking the orders to the tables and bagging to-go orders. She leaves customers waiting for at least 10 minutes while she's doing something else and has no backup and jo other team members step in. I waited at least 23 minutes to place my order because cashier stepped away twice to take care of other stuff then the food was greasy and not that great for the price we paid. In line there was a man that ordered one item and a couple ahead of me. After the man orders his 1 item, he's warned there's a (15?) minute wait; the woman in the kitchen yells to the cashier, "no more orders after that one"... the woman in the kitchen is told something by another teammate and she proceeds to say at a tone loud enough for the customers to hear, "I'm backed up and I don't care, they can wait or go home". Then we were told to scan a QR code and place the order on our phone. I said I'm standing right here, can't you just take the order? Then I tried to pay with a $30 gift card that was issued without a PIN code. The girl tried but was not able to read the card. Paid with a credit card. Then we waited. A full hour after we walked in the door the order arrived. Food was just OK. Fries were dripping in oil that pooled up in the bottom of the fries cup. Unbelievable! Don't Go on a Sunday at 5PM. The burgers were ok. The kitchen service was terrible. I ordered a BBQ RANCH salad and forgot to add the chicken when I originally placed my order. My husband went back to add chicken. He stood in line 5 mins or so to pay for a chicken breast. One of ladies told him not to worry about it. The kitchen lady (manager?) yells something from the kitchen, basically frustrated that he requested to add chicken to the salad. There was another Cobb Salad missing chicken, as well. She and my husband exchange words, and he waits for our food. Fast forward 15 mins. Our other food comes out so I tell my husband that I'll wait for my salad so that he can eat his food. 10 more mins pass and I overhear the cashier ask the kitchen if they ever gave the man his chicken breast. My salad that I had originally paid for was still on the encounter waiting for a chicken breast. The lady in the kitchen tells the cashier that she gave a breast to another salad order. So I guess forget me and my salad...tired of waiting and famished, I asked for the salad that I paid for 20 mins prior. The kitchen lady gaslights us and says sarcastically, "Thanks for being understanding that there's only 2 people in the kitchen." Ok...so how is that the customer's fault? She tells my husband that she can't make me a chicken breast because there's 14 other burger orders. Then she agrees to give us a chicken breast for free but continues complaining about how busy she is and tell us we have to wait (I suppose another 20 mins?). I'm ready to go at this point. She hands me my plain salad and 2 BBQ sauces, NO RANCH. Again, I ordered a BBQ RANCH SALAD. I had to ask for a fork. Angry at this point, I just want my $8 back. I should not have to ask for ranch on a salad with ranch in the name. My husband goes back and asks for a refund, and they hand him a whole chicken breast that I guess I'm supposed to cut with the plastic knife. He insists on a refund. They even had a double turkey burger for my boyfriend. I ordered a beef burger with avocado, bacon, cheese, and mushrooms. When I took one bite of this food item, I was absolutely blown away. It was worth waiting a little bit for this perfect, flawless burger. The burger patty was not greasy or heavy. I was thinking about that remarkable burger the rest of the day.
