This was a great pop in!! They have alot of restaurants in the area but this one has a rather unique menu so that drew me in. It is located in an easy to find area however the parking lot fills up pretty fast being that it's connected to a hotel. The restaurant was very clean inside and outside. All the staff was friendly from the hostess to the waitstaff was friendly. As far as s be beverages go, they definitely have something for everyone. They offer lot on tap, mixed drinks and mocktail/NA options which o always think is great. For the food, let's talk a bout the food!!!!! Those crab rangoon mozzarella sticks was a favorite for sure. They were a. Ice size, very crispy and the filling was top tier. Don't let me get started on that dipping sauce! 10/10 must try again. We also tried the loaded tater tots which were also delicious. Came in after the dinner rush for a late bite, and the experience was less than stellar. The main femme presenting bartender disappeared after dropping menus and her manager had to make drinks and take our order. The manager was great and we were super happy with the NA options. The NA mojito was delicious. Food was expected for suburban pub fare but the menu having a vegetarian menu in a QR code was great for my friend. Fish and chips came with two very small pieces of cod. It was not worth the price point and did not have malt vinegar. The really appalling part of the visit was the raucously drunk businessmen at the end of the bar who were loudly bragging about putting their drunk friend into his jeep in front of the restaurant and letting him drive home. The men also took it upon themselves to touch my friend and I and get upset when we would not entertain his conversation and kept telling him to leave us alone and not touch women ever. The bartenders did nothing during this confrontation and continued to serve old fashioneds to these clearly inebriated men. Ambience? It's a suburban stand alone restaurant that looks like the granite counter section at a big box hardware store. They were really greasy which is not to my liking I ordered the steak medium well. The steak was good. It was more on the medium well side. Came with broccoli and finger potatoes. Our waiter Rizzo was awesome!! So kind hearted and down to earth! Please ask for his section whenever you go in and omg I can't forget about Sarah rose! Although we didn't sit in her section she was such a sweetheart and answered all of our questions! It was my first time here and my friend and I had an awesome time! The restaurant was clean and full of life as soon as they opened at 11am. Unfortunately We didn't get to try any of the beers on tap but I did have a peach chiller which was delicious! I do recommend. 10 out of 10! As far as lunch my friend ordered the mahi mahi taco which she loved and said tasted great! I ordered the spicy shrimp linguine which was actually delicious and it was a nice size portion. They have an amazing patio and beer selection! For the amount of food given, it is reasonable. We came by for a late lunch and drinks. Parking across the street was pretty empty but completely filled by the time we left. Inside, it was mostly empty. The 3 of us got seated at a semi circle booth near the wall menu. As a cider drinker, I was happy to see more than angry orchard on the menu. Unfortunately, one option (Blake's) was not available. I ended up having a glass of the remaining two (Ace and Ebis). My wife got the nashville chicken wrap. I tasted and I admit it was spicy and fitting of the name in a good way. She only managed to get through less than half of it. The side fries were very tasty. When happy hour rolled around during our visit, I went for HH queso dip. Chips were good. Dip was decent. It had meat in it which I felt was unnecessary though. Service felt very mediocre. Server came by a handful of times but never took initiative to refill waters. Was given the check before we asked for it. Then server came back right away to run payment but we didn't have a card out yet. We had an annoying little fruit fly buzzing around us the whole time. Where there's one... Slight pet peeve: There was another party seated in the booth next to us. Their toddler accidentally flung some water(?) at us at one point. I get that kids happen but still SMH when I looked around and realized we were the only two tables in the very large, empty hall. Would have appreciated more space buffer when possible. I stayed in Schaumburg for only three days and I ended up eating here four times, partly because of convenience, but also the food was delicious and the staff was phenomenal. I was served more than once by a delightful server named Sararose. She was attentive and friendly and part of the reason I came back so many times. If you share reviews with your staff internally, I would love for them to all know what a great job they are doing. Came here solo after a tiring morning at work (ended up being a late afternoon meal), and this place was exactly what I needed. The food absolutely hit the spot--I left feeling refreshed and energized! I've come here several times and have always enjoyed the food. Most recently, I tried the Grilled Lemon Salmon and loved it! It was flavorful, filling, and beautifully presented (see photo). I also enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon blanc that complemented the meal wonderfully. Been here a few times, once for dinner and a couple time for happy hour. Beware that their parking lot is really tiny, so you'll probably either end up doing street parking or having to walk a bit. One weird thing I have to call out is if you go to an Old Town Pour House (in Oak Brook or Naperville), they have the same menu as here. Turns out they have the same owners, and I assume at one point they got bought out or something. I have to call out that this place does not shy away from the spicy, which I appreciate. The Nashville hot nachos and chicken has a lot more heat than I expected from a small chain. Same for their scorpion burger, so buyer beware, but if you enjoy spice you won't be disappointed. They have a nice patio we've been to for happy hour, where you can get a beer and a couple bacon cheeseburger sliders for $10, and they have half off apps. The food is solid and the patio is a good way to enjoy warmer days. Service is good, but you'll want to make sure you get your last drinks in before happy hour ends. Overall this is a place I know we'll come back to, either for an early family dinner or a night out if we can find a babysitter for the night. read more

So I've gone to city Works a few times. Food is very delicious. Service is good. So I ordered the chicken picante dish with the broccoli cleaning. I'm not sure what they put in their broccolini, but I took a couple of bites and it was hot like they put some kind of hot pepper flakes on it really didn't say anything in the description. But that's OK I can handle a little heat lol but it would've been nice if they would've put that broccolini off to the side other than putting it on top of the mashed potatoes in the chicken, our service was OK just did her job. Didn't really do anything above and beyond to impress me, but that's OK. I asked her that I really like Als. I came here with a friend on a Friday night and we had a great experience. We walked in at 6:30 and the place was packed! We didn't have reservations and they said it would be a 30 minute wait. We ended up getting lucky and finding 2 spots at the bar so we spent the night there. The bartender was excellent. They have a wide variety of different beers on their beer menu. I was pleasantly surprised with how many they offered. I ordered the beer flight and they were all very good. One of them was a strawberry basil beer, so that was interesting! As a catholic, I was looking for a good fish and chips last Friday. I went out on a limb and decided to try City Works. I'm so happy I did! We started with the crab fondue- which being someone who isn't a fan of crab, I'm surprised I liked this as much as I did! The fondue was very rich, so if you decide to get it, I would recommend only sticking with that unless you have a big group- because it was quite filling! It is goat cheese based, which I love, but it wasn't super tangy. So if you are someone who's not the biggest fan of goat cheese because it has a little pungent taste, I wouldn't write this appetizer off! Definitely worth the try. The star of the show was the fish and chips. The batter was light and airy, and the fish was flaky and didn't have any fishy taste. It also was not rubbery in the slightest, which I find to be the biggest issue with some fish fry. Their coleslaw was good, however, not personally a fan of the red onion in it. I did get honey mustard on the side and it was DELICIOUS. Sweet and tangy, perfect consistency for dipping! The booths are quite deep and the inside is a slightly more upscale sports bar vibe- but don't get it twisted, I still wore sweatpants and was perfectly fine! Our server was a little soft spoken and we had to wait occasionally, but I will assume it's because it was busy and the first day where it was above 50 degrees in the Chicago area for awhile. Food was tasty both times we have come here with our two kids a toddler and an 8 year old everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the tacos and they were delicious and my husband has had the burger and my kids the flat bread pizza. All of it was delicious! I once liked this City Works location but last night's visit won't bring me back. Sat at a messy bar covered in half filled drinks left behind from previous customers. I politely motioned for the female bartender to clean up the mess and she said, "I gotcha" and then proceeded to only remove the 5 or 6 glasses. I waited a few more minutes before grabbing some napkins and wiping the bar down myself. My friend and I waited 45 minutes for our food order. Not sure if my chicken ranch wrap was supposed to be cold, but it was, and my salad didn't have any blue cheese dressing like I'd requested. The male waiter consistently said how backed up the kitchen was, even when someone next to me ordered cheese curds. That customer ironically received his food order quickly. I had two separate single whiskey's, ordered neat, no ice, and I noticed later, after I'd paid, that one was $11, neat, and the other $16 neat/rocks. Poor, slow service, and poor attention to detail. I wouldn't recommend this City Works location. read more
