She was also very informative when explaining the steps that I would go through once I receive my Smile Direct Club box. My favorite part about my visit was that she made me laugh all through the appointment while still keeping it professional. After a horrible experience initially getting my sons aligners ordered, after the order wasn't processed, he gets his aligners and they didn't fit properly and made his gums bleed in MULTIPLE places. "No dentist available" was his response THEN we continued to try and get someone to assist us....finally deciding to cancel within our 30 days...once again chasing around service. No one contacting us and continuing to be told to wait for someone to reach out to us.....made ANOTHER call today as our 10 BUSINESS days wait is up...still can't get our refund. SERIOUSLY?!? Initially I would have just been upset that this didn't work for him, now I'm furious that I'm being continually shuffled to "an account manager" that has yet to call....I want our refund so we can go elsewhere and this 30 day cancellation is ridiculous. The office and scan are great, the issue I have is with the product. I have tried repeatedly to suck it up and wear the devices however edges are so bad that they just made my mouth bleed. The more I had to speak in a day the worse it got. I tried the recommendation to file down the edges and that doesn't help. Unfortunately, I'm leaving this review prior to evaluating the results of the aligners. I had done my research on Smile Direct Club prior to taking the initial step of scheduling a scan of my teeth. I had read yelp reviews as well as reviewed the better business bureau as I wanted to be sure I was making a good decision in choosing these clear aligners. The appointment at the storefront felt impersonal and kind of salsey. They treated me as if I had already made the decision to trust them with shifting my teeth and were looking to confirm payment prior to seeing the results of my scan. As there are other options out there, like I said, I was doing my research and went in to see what they could do for me. I was not impressed and should have listened to my gut. After doing more research, I convinced myself that my experience was out of the ordinary and after seeing how my teeth would shift, I ended up placing an order for the nighttime aligners. The aligners arrived in good time, about 3 or 4 weeks, however, they had manufactured the day time aligners. I immediately called them and they confirmed that I was sent the wrong aligners and they would need to remanufacture my whole set. Another 3 to 4 weeks went by and I received my new set. As it had been over a month since my decision to better my smile, you can imagine I was pretty anxious to get started. I opened my aligners and my first set was two lower aligners. No upper liner. I called that night to see what could be done. After a they inquired with the dental team, I was told the dental team would follow-up with me. A few days went by and I didn't hear from the dental team. I called again and they connected me with the dental team who said they had to remanufacture my first set after I sent them a picture of the two lower liners. After I sent them a picture, I received no reply or update and had to follow up to confirm that they were being remanufactured. I was told that there was no way to expedite my order and I would have to wait about 3 weeks to receive my set and begin. Cut to 5 weeks later, I have never received an update on my new first set of liners and called a couple times to check in. I called at 3 weeks and was told that I takes 3-4 weeks. Called at 4 weeks and was told that it takes 5-6 weeks. Luckily, I didn't have an event that I want my smile to be ready for. I did get my bottom retainer out right before I received my first order and hope my teeth haven't shifted since then. I really want to believe that my experience is out of the ordinary, however I can never recommend this product to any friend or family. The experience has been frustrating and disappointing and I should have trusted my gut after my initial visit/scan. read more
