Talked to Lily 5/19 who told me the reimbursement request would be submitted and that I should expect the check 4-6 weeks. July 15th, sent text for status, no response. July 16th called and spoke to Lily who proceeds to tell me: she read my text and asked Barbara about it. It seems the lady who works remotely (they have a hard time reaching her) didn't submit the request. I then asked if I could speak w/Barbara and was told she's in a meeting. I then asked if there's a corp office she said there isn't one. She then told me looks like there was some kind of system problem so they need to resubmit the request and it will take the bank another 4-6 weeks to process it! I am beyond disgusted with the blame game. Dealing with this billing department has been horrific!! Now it's safe to say they're trying not pay me my money which isn't setting well with me at all. The next step of this process is going to be more expensive and I can only imagine how difficult it would be for documentation to get sent to the insurer. After having multiple billing issues and calling to ask for assistance, she was very rude and unhelpful. I was told multiple times in a very rude way that these insurance companies just don't want to pay. This was a large dental bill and it was quite stressful for me. After calling my delta dental insurance to inquire because I was told she wouldn't help and I'd have to do it myself they were quite upset. She was sending it incorrectly! Within a week it was paid. I would never treat a patient the way she did and I don't want to be associated with an office that allows that.

Got a call yesterday asking if I could come earlier. That was no problem. They were ready to go when I arrived without any wait. It was determined that I would need a crown, but not a root canal (the silver lining). They did all of the work immediately and sent off for my crown to be made. I could've come back as early as next week, but I couldn't make it. Start to finish the appointment was about 2.5 hours. The facilities here are adequate, but not state of the art. There are no tvs on your chair or stand in X-Rays, but they get the job done just the same and for less than most. Dr. Howell does an excellent job organizing her assistants so that her time is maximized. Best of all, Dr. Howell's prices are reasonable compared to her competitors. She offers a dental discount plan if you have no dental insurance for $225. It's worth it if you're having major work done.

Tara Howell was very rough and uncaring when I went to see her on 6/29 to have a tooth extracted. I…read moretold her that I had an abscess but she extracted the tooth without treating the infection. That negligence caused me to get a severe infection that required surgery. I called the after hours number several time and no response. I had to go to the ER. After the 3rd call and after the ER visit she responded. When I went in she tried to pull another tooth instead of treating the infection. I refused treatment and asked her to refer me to a surgeon. After I healed from the surgery, I moved my family from this office for good. Tara is very Kirt in her approach, she's doesn't listen to her patients and I will never go back and I will never refer anyone to her.

This lack of empathy and accountability only added to my frustration. It's clear that the office is struggling with organization and professionalism. I asked her to fix a small chip on my front tooth, and she suggested fixing a similar chip on the adjacent tooth. Afterward, I noticed that the tooth she "fixed" was noticeably shorter than all of my other teeth, which wasn't discussed or approved by me. At the time, I didn't realize the extent of the change, but when I returned to speak with her, she dismissed my concerns and insisted my tooth was already like that, which isn't true. She also claimed she only took a little bit off, but that small change made a big difference, and the tooth shouldn't have been altered at all without my consent. She didn't take responsibility for the mistake or offer a solution and left me talking to someone else without addressing the issue. I take great pride in my teeth, and I'm upset that my tooth was altered without my consent. It's noticeably shorter than the rest of my teeth, and the difference is very obvious. The lack of professionalism and empathy was disappointing, and I feel the tooth should never have been touched in the first place.

His assistants were all very nice. I used to be a dental assistant, so I trust him. When I used to go there, I always had a different hygienist and sometimes different dentist. I prefer to have familiar hygienists and my own dentist. My husband seems pleased with his care there.
