When we started going here I would've recommended them to the world they were great. Now that we have been there for year and a half to two years I wouldn't recommend these people to my dog. They are never there. They are hard to get an appointment with. Now that they have our money and it's hard to switch orthodontist they can't ever seem to see my child to do the adjustment. I have to go to Harker Heights or to Waco just to get something done. Or I have to wait for a month to a month and a half if I have to change an appointment it is ridiculous it is sad and these people have no commitment to the temple area or to our kids Modified to a 1 star. After my initial review they called and got a lot better. But they have gotten impossible to work with. They are never in the office and heaven forbid you have an issue on Friday because they don't work on Friday after lunch. So called in and was told for a broken wire that is poking my son in the mouth I would need to wait tell Tuesday. Please I beg you go anywhere other than this place. read more

Smile Doctors Braces provided us the GREATEST service overall from customer service to prices as well as amazing work. I had received pricing from another businesses and Smile Doctors Braces by far had better pricing and services. Not, to mention Jhona set down and went over our treatment plan and took the time to answer every question. It was such a quality visit in comparison to other places which it seemed to be based on time. She sat with my daughter assisted her in deciding on what was best braces or invisalign based in her life style. She ensured she knew how to operate her scan from home system in which, yes people they monitor your braces from a system you take home no need to be consumed with coming in constantly! I had a smaller child who became restless and Jhona put a Disney show on her so that we could focus on the treatment plan. She went above and beyond plugging in numbers to get payments where they needed to be for us. I also had a consultations with other Orthodontist and I have Tricare insurance they quoted me a price and wanted to get me in the chair immediately. However, Jhona contacted my insurance company to ensure I was covered based on my age in which I wasn't! Words can't express what her attention to detail meant as these other places would have had me paying out of pocket a crazy amount of money based on the fact they didn't check the fine print. I was down about the fact that I was not covered for Ortho care and Johana said, give me a bit and worked it out to where I could receive care at an affordable price! My daughter went back to get her braces and as I waited I heard a big welcome and cheer from staff for her, which just made her feel comfortable and like family. My smaller child was upset she wasn't getting a bag full of goodies or braces, lol and Jhona made her feel part of the process by giving her a T-shirt. The receptionist welcomed us and got us in the back very quickly and the Orthodontist took her time and answered all my questions. Lastly, I got a message from Jhona checking on my daughter a day later as braces at first can be a bit painful, she offered some tips for pain, words of encouragement and let me know I could contact directly with any questions. Recently, I have had two instances with the ladies at reception being extremely rude to both an older lady (my grandmother) and my mother. This instance occured on Thursday, March 31st at around 3 pm after she had had an operation done and had come back immediately after something had fallen out of her mouth only to have the lady at reception ask her, in an extremely rude and disrespectful tone, why she was back so soon. This had already upset her but when the receptionist said that they had a spot open , my grandmother stated that she couldn't stay at that very moment because her dogs were in the car and the receptionist responded rudely again. I am rather upset on her behalf and we are considering changing orthodontist entirely due to this experience. read more

When we first visited, I was worried that the place may be a bit "gimmicky" and was worried that they may be compensating for something because they have video games for the kids, gorgeously decorated offices, snacks and drinks, and even an ice cream machine. They also have a "relax" room with massage chairs. Which had me concerned also about the cost... (I'm pessimistic, what can I say?). Thank goodness my first impressions were wrong! Dr. Karren took amazing care of my daughter, including recommending general anaesthesia for my daughter to get her cavities filled, which we just finished. Dr. Karren was great with both me and my daughter, asked if I had any questions, and answered them all. The anasthesiologist they contract with was wonderful as well. He explained everything and was great with my kiddo! Downside: they don't bill insurance. They do, however, provide you with everything you need to file on your own with your insurance. Oh, and the cost? They were "out of network" for my insurance, so I actually went and got a second opinion from an in-network dentist. Turns out the in-network dentist would have actually cost me MORE. (I'm sure it depends on your dental insurance, though, YMMV). This place has customer service down pat. Everyone was attentive to my needs as well as my daughter's, and one of the ladies even went and got me a cup of coffee from their break room (which was pretty good for break-room coffee! Thanks!). They do payment plans for large procedures, interest free over 6 mos. The only negative comment I have is with the billing staff.I requested they submit a pre-auth for my insurance, and they submitted it under my name instead of my daughter's. This led to a delay in processing it (and I didn't actually find out if everything would be covered before the procedure, but my daughter needed the work done so we went ahead with it anyway). I would recommend calling and following up with billing routinely if you need something like that. They were polite and apologetic however, and fixed the issue as soon as it was identified. My impression is that the billing is out of a different office- the billing people were confused a couple of times, but usually went and figured out why they were confused and then called me back with an answer to my questions. My Husband & I started at their Harker Heights location (while living in KilleenTX) which is just as nice- but now we use the TempleTX location. I love the staff- snacks- entertainment (my Husband loves the XBoxOne & I love the Arcade games)- cleanliness- customer service- relaxation area (massage chairs)- etc. For the past year (almost)- we've been driving down from DallasTX for our appointments. And it's completely worth the time out of the city. I would totally recommend this place if you or your loved ones- are considering an Orthodontist in your area (or within your driving limit). read more

I had a great experience at Smile Doctors! All the assistants answered any questions I had and were very knowledgeable. I'm a dental assistant too so that's how I know lol. Every assistant was wonderful, but I loved Amy, Erin and Crystal. The doctors were very caring and gentle. I don't recall ever being in pain. I was 29 when I got my braces put on and I hated the idea of getting them so late, but this office made the entire time enjoyable. I would recommend this office to everyone. read more

We used to love Smile Doctors. They were totally in tune with their patients. They treated clients with pride everything was towards the kids making them feel comfortable. And then now it's hard to get a hold of them you have to go to an entire different city just to get an appointment. Breaking a bracket or a wire is painful and they want you to wait a week or more to get it fixed. It's ridiculous I would never recommend this orthodontist to anybody. read more

This office is amazing! All of the staff are so happy and friendly, and it makes you want to hang out there all day!

I do NOT recommend this place to anyone. The young dental assistance are unprofessional and always singing and dancing. They are not gentle with the teeth or tell you what they are doing before they do it. The doctor rarely works on the teeth he just looks to make sure the plan is good. Honestly, it seems as if I am having to guide them through the process by telling them by teeth are not straight or my bite is still really far out and I want it fixed. I had very straight teeth to begin with I just needed my overbite fixed- its been 2 years and very little has been corrected. Overall, the place is clean and a fun environment, but I would rather have a professional and caring environment. Best thing about this place are the massage chairs. read more
