At first it felt like a pinch but I got to my car and noticed my lip was bleeding . After a while it healed and left a scar that looks like a freckle on my lip . Such a good first experience (and second!) The front desk associate was super welcoming and professional. They send out plenty of reminders prior to your appointment. Dr. Arjmandi was sweet, thorough, and explained every little procedure and exam. You can tell this dentistry cares about your comfort and emphasizes on communication. She's fast but thorough, so you can tell she has had years of experience. I had two cavities filled and I was in and out of there within thirty minutes. An extra plus, they're knowledgeable about what your insurance covers (which is a BIG win because I've had so many experiences--where I've been charged with something I wasn't covered on). I wanted to love smile essentials - I even referred family members to go there. It seemed like each cleaning was rougher and more painful each time. She lectured me to floss even though I explained that I do, and that I have an autoimmune condition that contributes to inflamed gums. She said I needed a crown and that she would not do it. The other dentist said I don't need a crown and it's not nearly bad enough for insurance to cover one. When I went back to her office for the fillings I found that she had removed me from the schedule without telling me. I think I was discriminated against because of my disability and being on state paid insurance. read more

I waited 6 months and 4 visits to post this review but I've left happy with the full experience at Smile Essentials every single visit so far. Dr. Arjmandi and her staff treat their patients like family! My first visit with Dr. Arjmandi was my first dentist visit in a long time. I had just gotten dental insurance and needed a cleaning. When I got to the office I was greeted by the sweetest assistant, Julia, who informed me what would and wouldn't be covered by insurance and how it works. She's very personable and kind. My gums were significantly inflamed due to my lack of attention to them over the years. Dr. Arjmandi told me we would have to take a more rigorous approach with a periodontal maintenance every every 3-4 months. Of course that's not what I wanted to hear but I understood the condition of my gums and she talked me through my problem areas and what I could do to fix them. She's funny and smart and very nice, definitely made me feel comfortable which isn't an easy thing at a dentist's office. This most recent visit, after 6 months of flossing every day and making sure to brush more consciously, my gums are so much more healthier and I'm optimistic that I have the knowledge and tools to keep up these healthy habits thanks to Dr. Arjmandi! read more

Here is my review from google. These people are liars and they care about money and their image. That's why they'll tell you to leave a review your first visit. Never leave a review on your first experience for anything. They all seem welcoming until they lie and say your insurance has paid (when they haven't). Set up appointments before receiving approval from your provider Or lie to you and say your provider gave them approval. I paid almost 2k and they were willing to keep lying until I figured it out. After I did I was advised by them to make an appeal which is the only thing you can do when you are in a situation where you were lied to. That's how I know they've done this before and will do it again. If your insurance is covered by all means you can go here if you support lying scum that go to medical school to learn how to steal money. If you want this review down don't make me seem as if I'm crazy, you made my sister cry in a chair you're supposed to help customers. You call me or her and explain everything that went wrong so that we understand. Remember "Unprofessional conduct: Professional violations such as mishandling or altering records, filing incorrect or fraudulent insurance claims, and false or misleading advertising can put a dentist's license at risk". They were patient an exceed my expectations once I sat in their chair. They had taken their time with me making sure I was comfortable, pain free, overall doing good. I called as a new patient with an emergency. Not only did the friendly staff get me in the same day, but they also were able to do a (long overdue) cleaning the same day. The whole experience was an unexpected joy. Yes, joy, at the dentist, I know right?! The office has state of the art equipment. Dr Arjmandi is genuine, friendly, and knowledgable. I just went in yesterday for a follow-up after my deep cleaning. I had some concerns over the sensitivity of one of the fillings I received and Dr. Arjmandi calmed my anxiety by taking a look and explaining that nothing is wrong and the sensitivity will go away in time. She also stated that if it kept bothering me after a few months, she will take a second look and possibly add something to help, but she prefers the tooth heal naturally on its own. I appreciate her transparency and willingness to explain what is going on. My gums look much better since the deep cleaning and there has been virtually no bleeding during brushing a flossing. read more

If you have Medical/Dentical do not visit this establishment. The dentist, Dr. Arjmandi, will treat you as an ignorant fool who knows nothing. The dentist will charge for services she does not provide, and she will try to charge you for said services even after Dentical has paid her. On my First visit, she took X-Rays off my teeth. I wanted a teeth cleaning, but she told me i needed 500, and i didn't have the money at the time. She told me Denti-Cal would only pay for a polishing, so she only polished my teeth. She charged Denti-Cal for a teeth cleaning she did not provide to me. She tried to tell me Denti-Cal only pays partially for a deep cleaning, and that i was responsible for $500. Then she tried to tell me Denti-Cal denied the treatment she prescribed for me. When i called Denti-Cal offices, i was informed she was paid in full for X-Rays and a teeth cleaning, and there was no record of a denied claim. Denti-Cal will not only pay for a polishing, because it not medically necessary, however a teeth cleaning is. Dr. Arjmandi views. Dentical recipients as undereducated easy marks. She is wrong. Dr Arjmandi is unethical and unprofessional. Technically criminal. She is a fraud, and she should be disciplined for her actions. read more

This people at this place were really friendly, fast, and clean. The place is really clean and tidy as well. I was there just for a consultation and they checked my insurance during the consultation and I was able to get my wisdom teeth extracted that same day! The reason for 4 stars is because when the technician, or assistant, was taking images of my mouth I asked if I should take my tongue piercing out and she said no, so I didn't take it out. It's always really uncomfortable for me to take those images because of my small mouth. So, when she told me I had to take my tongue piercing out to retake the images I wasn't too happy. First visit to the dentist office in a while so I decided to go with this place since it was closest to home and I gotta say I couldn't be any happier. The dentist and employees were very nice, resourceful and caring. They also offered me a comfortable blanket for my legs because I showed up in slides and shorts lol. My wife had a tooth ache and the dentist was able to see her that same afternoon. When we arrived the dentist had already reviewed her medical history from the forms we completed on the web. After taking a look at the area the dentist had an xray taken of the area. She spent plenty of time explaining the situation along with explaining what was on the xray, what the immediate treatment was and also what long term options were for the tooth. With the prescribed antibiotics my wife is now out of pain and on the way to being cured. The office is well organized and spotless.
