Went to this dentist today. I am handicapped and in a wheelchair. Before making appointment ibdpoke with the office manager who verified the office was handicapped accessible. Upon arrival I encountered a very narrow ramp space that I barely navigated to the door. I sat in the waiting room for over an hour before I was informed the dentist couldn't see me because I needed oral surgery(after i hsd informed the office before appointment was made). I didn't feel welcomed or comfortable. I do not recommend this office. read more

In the middle of my dental treatment, my son transitioned--now two years ago as of last week. This week, which also includes his birthday, is extremely emotional for me. Back in April, Dr. Combs said I needed pre-authorization for a crown and an implant. I was scheduled for an appointment today at 11:00 am. I called the answering service between 9:00 and 9:30 am to cancel due to the emotional weight of this week. By 10:00 am, the scheduler called--not with compassion, but to say if I didn't show up, I would no longer be allowed to make any appointments. That response felt cold and lacked all basic empathy. I had already completed a root canal and asked to proceed with placing the crown. Instead, they claimed today's visit was for implant surgery--something I was never informed about. When I tried to explain that, I was completely dismissed. Alisha, the office manager, gave inconsistent and unclear explanations that only added to my frustration. Then things escalated. Dr. Combs himself called me--not to apologize or understand--but to confront me for writing a review. He even said he would call my insurance company. I could barely get a word in. He was rude, dismissive, and extremely unprofessional. That kind of intimidation from a healthcare provider is beyond inappropriate. Dr. Combs is not from this community--he lives in Ward 8, and from my experience, carries an attitude that feels condescending to the people he's supposed to serve. It's troubling to hear he's the only dentist in the area performing implants, yet his practice lacks empathy, flexibility, and accountability. This office seems more focused on making money through surgeries than offering genuine, patient-centered care. I no longer feel respected or safe under their care, and I would caution others in the community to be aware of how they treat their patients--especially in moments of vulnerability. As a healthcare provider, publicly disclosing details about a patient's medical care without their explicit consent is a clear violation of HIPAA regulations. Additionally, I want to clarify that I contacted your office each time I was unable to attend an appointment. These cancellations were related to ongoing care under my cardiologist, which is fully documented in my medical records. Wanting to support a black dentist I gave this man and his office a Chance, worst mistake I've ever made in my life. I even complained to the staff that I thought Dr. Coombs was rude and maybe had a problem with me... I had bone grafting done which I later found out I didn't need, a cap and new tooth. Still going against my gut feeling I gave this man a chance. I had a slight gap that was OPENED WIDER, TWO different shades of teeth in my mouth that they said I signed off on. Yes I did, that's after being assured I was getting two of the same colors. On top of it all I called and told them I had given them extra time to heal and didn't like what he'd done, Dr. Coombs response was "There's nothing I can do now." (Sorry not Dr. Coombs his secretary, didn't even have the decency to respond directly) since then everyone I know had told me about the bad job I'd had done and I'm Still waiting on my insurance company to finish the complaint. I do not recommend anyone use this dentist and if you do I suggest you have a back-up plan because I didn't and this is what I'm stuck to deal with. read more

Amazing staff. My experience was truly painless. I hate going to the dentist and was dreading the procedure I needed done, but Dr. Coombs was personable and thorough. But truth is when you have an amazing dentist who is honest, cares about making sure you feel good and the work is done right it's worth flying for great service. From Detroit all the way to DC and every trip I've made is beyond worth it. I'm truly blessed to know Dr. Coombs a dentist who advances with the times and is hip to the latest treatments and techniques. Dr. Coombs had to fix issues that were not properly done right by another dentist and he was solution focused and fixed my smile and eliminated my pain. The front office is courteous, warm and inviting. Staff have excellent phone and office manners. Paperwork is performed with the utmost care and discretion. Wait time is reasonable and when you are in the back office, every encounter was thoroughly professional. The area was immaculate and thoroughly cleaned between each patient. The entire staff presented as honest and knowledgeable with questions and very organized. Dr Coombs is very professional and rather no nonsense in demeanor. His delivery in service is second to none. No pain means NO PAIN with him. In addition, he is quick yet thorough. You never feel rushed but the work is done flawlessly. I cannot emphasize enough how colossal a waste of time and energy this dentist's office was for me. I was referred by my regular dentist for a consultation about a crown. I got here on time during work hours and was made to wait for 90 minutes, during which the receptionist--in addition to being otherwise brusque and least concerned--kept pestering me about getting my regular dentist to provide her with referral info that she couldn't find so she could run the insurance through. I was beyond aggravated and eventually left after there was no sign that the doctor was going to be able to see me. I did make sure that my insurance wasn't charged for anything and that the staff knew I had no interest in coming back when they nonchalantly suggested I reschedule after wasting so much of my time. I mean would a call to tell me the doctor was running late with other patients have hurt? Giving 1 star because I can't go lower. read more

It's All about the vibe and he has a tainted spirit. The Doctor is very much arrogant and narcissistic. I arrived for a root canal and of course I had questions. I wait for a small amount of time. Which was okay. I asked questions about his education, he was offended. I asked about his board certificate, he was offended. Then, a nurse comes to retrieve for X-rays and places me in front of a air condition on full blast, how sanitary is that? I asked if I were going to be sitting in that room, during the procedure, the "doctor" then is upset and says, "just so I don't waste you time, I think I'm going to have you go somewhere else". This is all fine. I would rather not have someone with his energy, in my darn mouth. If it baffling that he has notices in the offices that pertain to each customer has their own time to inquire and consult with the doctor. Never did I! I asked a few questions and put his panties in a bunch. Also, he has children just playing in the office. I seen a young boy about the age of 7 coming down the stairs into the operating area. The staff was so very pleasant and nice. They knew I was nervous about having a root canal . But after Dr. Granger explained everything to me, I watched a video and before I knew it it was over. They do not value your time. I went in for a regular cleaning this morning. My appt was 9:00 but I arrived 9:02 am. Two people came after me and went in to get serviced. I still waited until after 10:15 am. By this time, I was too angry to sit any longer. The front desk is a different person and I wish she would have relayed some information, but all she said was that I could be rescheduled. I wish I knew this before I made the trip out to them. They had surgeries going on, but didn't tell anyone of the delay or extra time you will wait. Front desk also said I was only there for a cleaning and I should be next from the 9 am appointments.
