I have had some negative dentist experiences in the 5+ years I've been in DC, and I struggled to get myself to find a new dentist. The other reviews are absolutely true - he was so kind and explained everything he was doing, asked a lot of helpful questions to get to know me and any concerns, and did the entire cleaning himself. His receptionist was also very kind and the office was very comfortable, clean, and up to date! Absolutely would reccomend and already have my next appointment booked! read more

One million stars. Is how many I would give if I could. This is a very well run office that is very professional. The front desk person, Zack, is both personable and professional. He is a kind buffer before a potentially stressful appointment. For my cleaning, Jennifer was amazing. Where other dentists and their assistants at other practices have caused me discomfort, Jennifer was conscientious and careful and did a remarkably good job at my teeth cleaning. Today Dr. Oh fixed a crown that had been bothering me for some time. He explained everything that he was going to do and then explained it while he did it. In using the Novocain he was very conscientious of any discomfort he might cause me. But thankfully he did such a good job that he did not cause me any discomfort. The overall kindness and thoughtfulness of this dentist office is truly remarkable. I highly recommend anyone go to this dentist office for anything that they need done. read more

Echo what everyone else has said. Very smooth and pleasant experience. I have lived in DC for 7 years and never found a dentist that I liked. But when I had a chipped tooth and was due for a cleaning, I had to try again. And I was not disappointed. Super helpful navigating insurance. Very communicative in scheduling. Very personable patient care. Explained all the options and the costs. Parking was a bit tricky with all the construction in the neighborhood, so would definitely leave a little extra time. The reviews don't lie folks, this really is one of the best dentists in DC! Given that there's a pandemic, the office has incorporated a bunch of extra Covid-19 protocols which I really appreciate. Shout out to Zach who is so on top on his stuff and the dental hygienist who did my teeth cleaning, I unfortunately forgot her name but she was a Howard grad and I loved her! Once my regular teeth cleaning was done, Dr. Oh came by to give me a final check up and answered all my questions in a kind manner. Seriously one of the best dentists I've had. Dr. Oh and Zack have changed my entire view on dental care. I have struggled with anxiety and shame around dental issues, and have often procrastinated getting the care I need because of this and bad experiences in other practices. Dr. Oh is the most thorough and patient dentist I've ever had! He takes the time to ask about your overall health/concerns and explains what's he doing and any suggested next steps. His receptionist, Zack, is so helpful and they both consistently follow-up on any concerns and future appointments. Dr. Oh and Zack truly care about the concerns and well-being of their patients. I haven't been to the dentist in around 2 years and honestly can say this might be one of the best dental experiences I've had. I was concerned about having cavities and my issues with teeth grinding, but Dr. Phil Oh did an amazing job talking me through my options and some suggestions he had. Dr. Oh didn't have a dental hygienist clean my teeth, he did it himself which allowed me to get to know him better. He made me feel so comfortable and was very conscious of how I was feeling. One thing I really appreciate about Dr. Oh is he explains what he is doing right before he does it, you will never be surprised about what is happening, which really put my mind at ease. He also doesn't try to push you to do procedures that aren't necessary or try to sell you anything, which I appreciated. The receptionist, Zach, is also great! He was so kind and made sure my experience at Quiet 17 went well. I have come to Dr Oh several times over the last few years and I have to say that it has always been a great experience. I have a history of not, at all, liking the dentist. Dr. Oh takes his time, focuses on only you, and explains what he is doing as he is doing it. I highly recommend him. I never thought that I'd be raving about my dentist, but here I am. Dr. Oh is seriously THE MAN. He is hands down the best dentist I've ever seen! I can't stop telling my friends/family about my new dentist and how happy I am with my teeth. Dr. Oh is such a great, friendly dentist who really explains everything he's doing, takes the time to ask about any concerns you're having, goes through your medical history with you, works gently and carefully with your teeth, and does an AMAZING job! I went in for a cleaning this morning and have been SO happy all day. I've been so worried about my teeth for months and after seeing Dr. Oh, I've been feeling so much better (and I can't get over how good my teeth look after his thorough cleaning--I've seriously never seen my teeth change in appearance so quickly!) I highly, highly recommend this dentist--he's the dentist I wish we all had. He actually takes his time with your teeth and does such a phenomenal job. He's the type of dentist who you feel like you can actually trust, who's not out to take as much of your money as he can--he actually cares about you and your teeth! Dr. Oh and Zack are an amazing team. I am definitely a difficult case but they kept me updated, checked in on me constantly, and made sure I was satisfied with the work that was done. I honestly haven't met such an honest person. Dr. Oh has taught me what I want to pass on to my own patients and that's just being as genuine as possible. The hygienist did a good job, and I very much appreciate that Dr. Oh answered my questions in an interactive way that helps me actually understand so that I can put the recommendations into practice. For example, I learned that the benefit of flossing is helping remove the plaque between teeth and gums and not just removing food between your teeth; and I appreciated the analogy of "flossing vs water pik" with "scrubbing your dishes vs automatic dishwasher"! read more

Just got home from my first dental cleaning with Dr. Oh. What a pleasure! Yup, I'm talking about a dental visit. Dr. Oh and his receptionist are so kind, polite, and professional. Dr Oh took me from X-rays (I didn't have to bite on those painful plastic things- he has a machine that circles your head) through an inspection and cleaning. Conversation was the perfect balance of getting-to-know-me without asking me a question when my mouth is full of dental gadgets. If you are a nervous dental goer, I recommend Dr. Oh even more strongly. He explains everything he's doing, gives you lots of breaks, and is very gentle. This place is fantastic! I made an appointment with them because they have Prince lyrics on the facade, and I regret nothing. Dr. Oh and his staff are super friendly, gentle, informative, and funny! The office is clean, bright, and comfortable (with elements of space station). I really can't express how awesome of a time I had having my teeth cleaned (and this is coming from someone who went to a dentist probably 10 years ago). I went in for a cleaning and x-rays and was in and out. Fast and easy paperwork, x-rays were painless (and really cool to see), and Doc took great care to make sure my mouth was properly tended to. He explained each element of what he was doing in an approachable manner and made sure to listen and accommodate me if I ever had a moment of sensitivity. If you're looking for a dentist, this should be it. They just opened 3 months ago, and don't have much of an online presence--but once the word gets out--they are going to be quite popular! read more

I, like many people, haven't had a great experience with dentists in the past but Phil is AMAZING! At first I didn't even know he was the dentist because he was so laid back and was the one to actually do my xrays. I'm used to the dentist only coming in at the very end to mumble a few words about flossing. He made me feel extremely comfortable, answered all of my questions, actually discussed my xrays like I was an intelligent being and made the cleaning process (long overdue on my end) as enjoyable as something like that could be. He asked many times if I needed a break and to signal if there was any pain. Again, never experience that level of thoughtfulness in the past. I have dumped my previous dentist and wont be turning back. Also, the front desk staff is amazing. She double checked to make sure I wouldn't have any surprise bills and worked with me to schedule follow up appointments. I'm sure I wont be as enthused about my experience once I get my root canal next week (can you say past dental trauma!) but I'm sure Phil will make the experience as pleasant as it can be. The equipment and rooms are modern and the staff are wonderful from the dentist himself to the hygenists to Zack who manages the office. They are my new dentist and Ive been there a few times.
