This is by far the worst dentist office I've been to in over 50 years. Do not sign the form they give you stating if your insurance does not cover an acceptable amount they want you to pay the rest. The doctor was put on the phone (after being hung up on by the rude receptionist) and ask me to get pre-authorization. I told her I just confirmed with two insurance workers and they said it was covered up to their agreed amount. I stated I would call them back and get documented proof of coverage. Ms. Lee then immediately told me I could go somewhere else and then hung up on me. I was respectful at all times. They are scammers to our community taking advantage of those who don't know their rights. Believe the post about the Maryland Ave location. They are rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. No class or self-respect about themselves at all. Do you want to trust people like this in your child's mouth? The pleasant staff that was there before the pandemic is gone. If only I could give NO stars! I came in for an emergency appointment at 11:30am for a tooth that was broke by the Orthodontist team in February. I asked to see someone and was told I had to come back at 1, which I couldn't do because of work. I asked to speak with the dentist to see if she could see me anyhow because I was in so much pain! I explained to Dr. Brown what the issue was and she told me that "she understands my symptoms" and what did I want her to do. I said look at it. DR. BROWN WAS SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!! She kept repeating that I needed to make an appointment. SN: She was unaware the her own office does not take adult patients on Saturdays. I asked her what I should do moving forward and she said "you have to make an appointment ". I expressed to the woman countless times how much pain I'm in and still she had no other words to utter besides "make an appointment" THIS "DR" let me leave her office knowing I am a patient in pain seeking care! I will no longer be using Pine Dentistry for my son's dental care. I received a text message yesterday evening stating that my son's dentist appointment was canceled due to the office being short staffed. I called to reschedule and was told I would receive a call by 1pm if his appointment was reinstated. Later, I received a text message stating that his appointment was reinstated. I called to verify this and was told yes, to come in. I arrive to the appointment on time only to be told that my son can't be seen because the dentist on duty isn't credentialed to accept his insurance. The staff was very rude, particularly the office manager. I wasted gas and my son missed school as he attends an eleven-month program. I was recording the front of the building to post a review on my social media platforms and the manager came outside and started curtsying sarcastically, stating "have a blessed day." Why wasn't my son's insurance checked yesterday to ensure that he could be seen by the dentist? This is the most unprofessional dentist office I've ever been to. read more

The place has a policity that just one parent can come inside with the kid at the time. For first time visit with a toddler this is so sad and unnecessary specially because that first time both parents would like to be present. The Dr and front desk were nice but the rest of the the people there were rude and said ''unfit'' comments during our visit. I dont think we are coming back. read more

My fiance was supposed to have a tooth removed from here there was a minor hiccup with the insurance and once it was straightened out her tooth was infected we called to get some antibiotics but they wouldn't see us without an appointment so we ended up at the University of Maryland Medical Center with a major infection which required surgery which all could have been avoided had they done their job properly here at Pine Dentistry read more

Don't go here. Just do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. We started going to the dentist here because I didn't have a car and that was the closest location to my house. We began to visit at the height of the pandemic in 2020. In April, I went to get my son's 6 month appointment, they wouldn't let me sit with him, due to covid restrictions, even though I'd been able to sit with him at his two previous appointments. They didn't ask me about this dental care or routine. They didn't ask him about it either. They took X-rays and decided he needed a crown. He'd been there 6 months earlier and didn't even have a cavity. How does a 6 year old go from no cavities to a crown, when I bring him every 6 months? Dentist didn't explain why, or what happened. They accused me of not brushing his teeth, which he does twice a day and doesn't drink soda. There was on consultation, just a here you go and get out of there. The front desk people are very rude and the Dentist is absent at best. Don't got here. I'm scheduling a new appointment with my dentist who will have to check out my son's issues. read more

This place is the worst! They scheduled my kids for 10am appointments on 8/17 at the District Heights office and the waiting room was packed to capacity. They made us wait 3 & a 1/2 hrs and hadn't been seen. When I checked to see what the hold up was the receptionist...who also had her son at work running back & forth behind the counter. She proceeds to tell me that they were trying to verify my insurance which was untrue because I called them myself. Very unprofessional staff! read more

They have a firm policy of one parent per child. As a foster parent, we work hard to include our kids' birth parents in their care. Pine Dentistry/Kool Smiles doesn't care, and won't let a 2nd parent back no matter what, so they shut out our kids' birth parents. Our toddler was very upset today to be at the dentist, and it sure didn't help that Pine wouldn't let his mother come back for his 10-minute cleaning, after they had kept us waiting for 45 minutes, even though we had the first appointment slot of the day. read more

The HORRIBLE dentist a women named Dr (smh). Denise Renee Maultsby-Brown gave me the worst fill-in. She did not fix it properly and I told her that it did not feel right. She said it will be OK. But it was NOT it fell out of my mouth and I almost choked. I went back to get it done over...worst mistake number 3 (outside of the cleaning and the first fill-in). The fill-in was done even worst food gets stuck in it, I can feel it in the inner part of my mouth and when I drink something cold it will hurt!!! I HATE THIS DENTIST and the PINE DENTISTRY!!!!! When my fill-in fell out I couldn't even get in contact with them to get an appoint to get a refill...lol. The fake customer service number that is attached to their business number barely helped me. I had to ask for the supervisor of the customer service supervisor to get an appointment!!! It is not worth going there at all!!!!
