I'm a real consumer, not associated with Dr. Harris or anyone in her office in any way (except as a customer) Very professional and well-managed office. Dr. Harris is careful, thorough and friendly. The hygienists are well trained and highly competent. The reception is welcoming and the record keeping is excellent. The practice is very clear on charges and insurance coverages. If your insurance covers Dr. Harris, it would be a mistake not to try her. I've been a patient for over 10 years and am highly satisfied. read more

I went here twice in June 2025 - before we knew about potential contamination. The short version is that I ended up crying in the dentist chair for almost the entire appointment, and the dentist lied to me. See the long version below: I feel like the only reason this practice has an average above 3 stars is because the practice used to belong to another dentist. Dr. Chopra started running it in 2025 (from what I've heard). I started my appointment by letting her know I'm a nervous patient. She did not explain what to expect from the appointment before she started. She started to work, and I felt sharp pain. I asked what she was doing, and she said she was giving me injections. I said that's fine, but please let me know what you're doing. She said, "My hygienist should have let you know you'd be getting shots." I had a panic attack and cried through the enitirety of the appointment with no sympathy from her. During my first visit, she told me she would only be billing my insurance and I would not be billed at all. After the appointment, the receptionist as for $300+. I told her I was confused after being told I wouldn't be billed. The dentist came to the lobby and said, "I never said that." I now understand that I was still responsible for my co-pay, but no one communicated that to me before the appointment, and I don't like that she denied telling me I wouldn't be billed. She used gaslighting twice in one appointment. I was in significant pain. And all this is before I received notice I should be tested for HIV and hepititis because she reusing equiptment. I see they're supposed to reopen this month. Please, please do not go. read more

Just found out about the news that this place is unsanitary and got shut down!!! I am DISGUSTED knowing I got mouth surgery there with potentially dirty, contaminated things all over my mouth. I was just there last week so this is all extremely unsettling. NEVER WILL I EVER GO BACK HERE!!! Just hope they transfer my dental records to the next place I go!!! read more

Extremely long waot time because the dentist is seeing 4 patients at the same time. She cannot concentrate on the patients because she is 'too busy'. There is no hygienist, she will not refer people to any other specialists. The treatment plan and copay is not explained to the patients prior to the appointment Unnecessary treatments that aren't covered by insurance so she can make more money. She treats her employees very poorly, no breaks- nor even for lunch...The treatments and procedures are rushed because she is not spending appropriate time with the patients. More time iscspent with Front Desk and Assistants that she yells at all day long.. Everyone leaves the office because she treats everyone, including the patients as if they are beneath her. It's a very poor and professional attitude. She only "cares" about the money, no respect for patients or staff...Do Not Recommend this Office read more

Writing this ~2 years after last visit to Smiles At the Square. Had a crown put in place here that caused immense discomfort for months after procedure. Less than 2 years later, turns out I need to have a root canal done on the same tooth because now the root is dead. At the time, dentist also recommended filling a cavity that no other dentist identified. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Nancy Harris since 2018 and was happy with the service I was provided until I made an appointment for an Invisalign consultation in 2024. Long story short, she hardly does Invisalign and isn't really equipped to provide you with a positive experience. She doesn't have an iTero scanner to do the impressions, so she used the old fashioned molds which took a long time, were uncomfortable, and had to be redone multiple times. Furthermore, she charges a non- refundable $500 deposit for the consultation, which after further research in the Philly area, is unheard of. I didn't feel confident in her ability to help me achieve a perfect smile since she didn't have the latest technology (which has been used for decades), so I made an appointment at a dentist down the street who did the iTero scanner, old fashioned molds, and two different types of x rays. That appointment was far more extensive and took longer, yet he didn't charge anything. His total price of treatment was also $3,200 while hers was $5,000. So, I lost my $500 and will not return to her office after she didn't address my email and voicemail. read more

Great office located directly in Rittenhouse square. I was greeted at the front desk by Bernadette who makes you feel right at home immediately when you walk in the door. She made sure I had everything I needed for my appointment. Her Professional, courteous, and friendly attitude made me feel like family... would highly recommend to anyone!!! read more

Dr. Harris is a very competent dentist and performs excellent work. Her assistant, Skye, was very involved in the work performed. She is quite proficient and they are a good team. The office is bright and clean. Everyone is friendly. The only issue is processing my dental insurance. But this could be a problem anywhere. read more

Dr. Harris and her staff are amazing! My husband and I are both clients, and this is the first time we actually look forward to going to the dentist. The cleanings, exams, and procedures are always top notch, and Dr. Harris definitely knows her stuff! P.S. I only had a few visits to the office with most of them were "ehh" nothing special. But my lastest interaction with the staff made me question their professionalism. During a routine visit,Dr. Harris had what seemed like a dental student put in a filling which fell out 4 days later! Then when I tried to rescheduled they changed the time on me twice and when I showed up on the day of my scheduled appointment they were closed and they blamed me for not showing up! Going to the dentist should not be a hassle and this was. There is nothing special about this practice and they don't make you feel as if you are more than another body that walks in the door. If you are looking for a dentist who seems invested in your personal health and makes you feel comfortable this is not the one. read more

I love the whole office! Very clean, stress-free environment. Ashley at the front desk offers to call my insurance for me (!) and remembers me when I call. Rachel the hygienist is so friendly and laughs at my jokes. Most importantly, she is also straightforward and honest with regards to my teeth and gums. I really appreciate her direct approach! I was Dr. Harris' patient for 7 years. I liked the office, the staff and her friendly attitude. I wasn't always happy with her work during these years, but realized how bad it was only after I moved to California and realized that I lost a tooth because of her. I visited 3 different doctors who were equally terrified with her work. When I was her patient I had several complains: 1. The filling in the front tooth was poorly made, there was extra filling material left, which made my tooth look thicker. The color of the filling was a little off compared to the color of the tooth. I had to replace this filling three times in 5 years, which felt very weird to me. 2. She had to redo one of my crowns, because it cut my gums too deep and made me feel uncomfortable. 3. Another crown fell off every 3 months. I came to her office at least 4 times to put it back. Last time she worked on this crown it stayed too high, so she removed so much material that she made a hole in the crown. Next time it came off she just let me know that the crown was irreplaceable, since there was a hole in it. I moved out of state very shortly after the visit, and went to another doctor to make a new crown. Wasted $700 on top of other "redo" charges. 4. When I asked her about whitening my teeth, she recommended to place veneers (which means to remove part of a tooth to place artificial cover). It seemed a very radical method to treat healthy teeth of a young person that needed some brightening. Of course the cost of veneers is much higher than the cost of whitening. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Now. What my new doctors said (the same opinion from 3 unrelated doctors). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. The reason my crown kept coming off was because the tooth underneath was poorly shaped (she made it cone, which couldn't hold any crown). She saw this tooth so many times, saw that the crown wasn't holding, and still didn't do anything to fix it, besides gluing it back. My doctor reshaped the tooth, placed a new crown and it's holding perfectly. 2. She missed a huge cavity in my molar, which destroyed a bone and caused tooth loss. This happened despite the fact that she saw me at least twice a year, had numerous x-rays and heard my complaints on uncomfortable feeling and food getting stuck in that area (it had a root canal, so no pain). Her answer was, 'it's just the way this tooth is shaped'. Now I need to replace the tooth with an implant. This definitely shouldn't have happened in my relatively young age. 3. All the crowns she made are ill-fit. They are either cut too deep or too wide or don't fit in many different ways. They cause gum disease to my sensitive gums. The doctors insist that I need to make new ones. Very costly business. 4. The same thing about her fillings. Many of them don't fit. They either irritate the gums or don't seal completely. I am annoyed with her work so much that I think to sue her. Please stay away. read more

I was very afraid of going to the dentist. I put it off for ages while I tried to get the nerve to make an appointment with a new dentist after moving to the Philadelphia area. I finally found Dr. Harris and made an appointment, and I will be looking no further in my quest for a dentist that I can go to without fear. She and her staff were absolutely wonderful; they were friendly, kind, and completely understanding of my fear. They made me feel very comfortable and took the time to explain things to me. I've been in Philly for over 6 years - and I've finally found a great dental office! I've been searching for a dentist like Dr. Harris. Her and her staff - Kathy, Skye and Rachel are all amazing. I have had dental issues all my life (hence, why I hate going to the dentist: because it's always bad news!) However everyone here has put me at ease - they are not only gentle (I'm 33 but have the teeth of an 89 year old from the middle ages!) but also thorough, super efficient with time (we all have work schedules people!) and honest. I have dental insurance - it doesn't cover too much - and they were able to work with me financially about pricing for some procedures I needed to get done - I super appreciate that. Now to the really good stuff! Every room has windows and a great view (something that REALLY helps my emotional state while I'm sitting there getting my teeth drilled - painlessly I might add!) Everything is up to date, it feels like a personal experience, and again, I can't stress this more - I TRUST them. That's huge for me and it should be for everyone else too. I really think if you're looking for a dentist (or want to switch because you feel you're not getting the best treatment) visit Dr. Harris. FYI, I only want to write on Yelp when I have great experiences, and this is one of them. I had 2 appointments with Dr. Harris. My first experience with the office was great, Dr. Harris took the time to talk to me, get to know me, and did a thorough exam. My second experience was awful. Received a call an hour before my appointment that Dr Harris had to cancel because she'd come down with the flu. That happens, not a problem. What I was mad about, was that the receptionist told me this had happened about 3 hours ago, but they were just now getting around to calling me. Not ideal. When I went in for my rescheduled appointment, I was the last one of the day. Dr. Harris saw me before the hygienist because she wanted to get out of the office. She looked at my teeth for about all of 2 minutes and quickly diagnosed me with 3 cavities, and told me to make an appointment to come back and have them filled. Having never had a cavity before and no current dental pain, I was a little concerned by this. The hygienist then took about 10 minutes to clean my teeth. All in all, I was in the chair for maybe 15 minutes max. Not a thorough job at all. I went to another dentist for a second opinion. The other dentist took X-rays, took the time to thoroughly look at my mouth, and talked me through what he saw. He explained that on the surface it looked like I was starting to get cavities, but the X-rays showed my teeth are currently fine and do not need to be filled, and that with proper brushing and flossing, I can hold off on the fillings for a while. The hygienist at the new office told me that that generally X-rays are required to get insurance to cover the fillings, so I would have potentially been in trouble there if I'd had them done in Dr. Harris' office. TL:DR - didn't do a thorough job, quickly diagnosed me with cavities without doing x-rays, not a good patient experience, will not be going back read more

This is the first time I've ever actually liked going to the dentist. I made an appointment a few months ago after I managed to avoid the dentist for about two years, so I wasn't surprised when I was told I had some periodontal issues and a few cavities. One of those cavities ended up being a root canal, so I spend quite a bit of time in the office, probably 6+ appointments in six months. They are so nice! Dr. Harris always explains what she's doing very clearly, and Rachel (the hygienist) is straightforward and easy to talk to. Ashley at the front desk deals with all the insurance and billing issues super easily. My favorite part is their ability to combine appointments, such as scaling and root planing on one side of my mouth + filling cavities on the same side so I only have to get numb once, or putting on a crown and having a periodontal check at the same appointment.
