I had terrible dental health and expected a long, drawn out and frustrating experience. beginning in mid July, I did little research but was told by my sister of the awesome experience she had with Smiles Dental. I reluctantly made an appointment, the Lady on the phone was really nice. Mid August: I did not know how lucky I was to find Dr House. His skill at pain control is absolutely the best, I had all of my teeth pulled, and had less pain both immediately and overall, then any dental experience. I had such anxiety I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do it, but he taught me techniques I am now using in daily life. I was really afraid, but it seemed like he did nothing but narrate it, because I never felt alone, and yet he did the entire precision expert surgery, His staff and he worked like one unit. Late August: My oral care is one of my best things about me, my mouth is so clean and I feel like a new person, like the mythical phoenix who rose from the ashes. I see a new face in the mirror, and her eyes dance as she smiles at herself . I smile at strangers. My smile is beautiful, and so is my life. Thanks, Dr H, for giving me back both. Do not come to this place. This is Buisness not a place that takes care of your HEALTH. I am tired of these dentists acting like health care providers. They are not. When I called to file a complaint mostly to let them know they should reevaluate the way they do things as a place that says they are a place that provides care. Money hungry dentist office that does not mind sending bills to collections even after paying them over a thousands of dollars wanted to send me to collections for the 200 left over. I could not pay with my health savings account anymore because the year ended. They cleaned me out of any and all money I had. I was afraid to go to any other place all year long because of the bills that insurance wouldn't cover. I'm making just enough money. So this is a PSA this "Dentist" office is looking for people who have an immediate 3k in their pockets at all times. When I wanted to only do a few things they encouraged me to do more, now I know it wasn't about my health is was about getting that bill. Upselling at a dentist office is crazy but according to their manager they are a BUISNESS so what do I expect. Go find a real doctor if you need a dentist. It might be a longer wait, it may be overcrowded but at least they give you actual care. They will understand what life is like, when I told the office manager that I paid over 2000 right after she said okay.. and then u didn't pay again until this year I said yeah cause that was everything I had!!! She acted like 2k was nothing like it wasn't going to set me back. They choose the price of their so called services. I rather pay the dental assistants themselves they shouldn't have to work under a dentist honestly if he's going to look at me for 3 seconds and then leave. Again not actually providing care taking on as many people as possible to get as much profit as possible. No one is going to read this or care but I'm doing it anyways in case their is someone like me who is not white and rich , that thought they were going to a place that would help because duh it's a health care provider a dentist, dental care... a basic need really, they will help me! Again I'm not signing up for a spiritual retreat! It's not an extra thing I like to do and spend money on. The system is fucked up and fuck dentists and all health care providers that came into the game for the money. I want to be a provider that helps people and everytime something like this happens it reminds me everyone is against you even the people who are supposed to be offering support. Makes me want to have an even stronger dedication when I do step into being a provider. All to say fuck you guys that's really petty. Threating my credit the main thing that matters in America. After I been working so hard to pay everything else you want to complain about your $200 after I paid you $2000 of that 2200. Crazy! read more

Dr. Sherman A. House, DDS is extremely rude and unprofessional. I came in I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience. During my visit, Dr.House, was noticeably rude and unprofessional in their communication. I had planned to bring my whole family here, but after experiencing the dentist's lack of compassion, I no longer feel comfortable doing so. I was scheduled for a cleaning this morning and it's been a while so there were some new faces. Everyone was soo nice and welcoming- the receptionist, hygienist, doctor, dental assistant, scheduler. Mia provided excellent care and my teeth felt super clean afterwards. Dr. Rho is so personable and friendly. He found that a previous filling I had done was failing and I needed a crown. Him and Fabian were able to fit me in same day, which I appreciated. I didn't feel any pain! I hate going to the dentist but their kindness, level of care were top notch! I had my second cleaning with Anne recently and she was upmost professional personable and compassionate! I'm now convinced this office is the exception to the rule when it comes to the poor experiences I've had with so many other offices who've mis-diagnosed me with unnecessary procedures i found i never needed; like stating i had gingervitis, cavities and needed caps. This office never pressured me to have any unnecessary work done and in fact, found nothing wrong with my dental health. That's why I'm confident in my decision to have them complete my front teeth implants within the next month or so. I can't say enough about this practice and highly recommend anyone looking for dental care to give them a try. I'm certain you'll be as impressed as I am! read more

I would not use Smiles Dental ANYMORE!!! My mistake was having an upper partial made for 1 tooth. It was definitely not a good fit!! I could not eat without food getting under the partial. I just about choked on my food. Talking was a disaster, I slurred my words!! It was a small metal piece with 1 tooth inserted. I tried it for a couple of weeks to no avail!! I called to make an appointment to discuss getting my $1400 refunded. Nope!! The Dentist was rude, unwavering and was not interested in my issue re: the partial. I believe he was upset because he was the one that recommended the partial!! Sooo, I would not go to Smiles Dental for any dental service!! It was good for a few years until I needed upper dentures. The dentist made them to tall on the left but acted like I was lying, tried to adjust my lower partial which I've had for years with no issues. Pretty much said don't come back unless it hurts. One week I got a sore on my lower gums because the uppers were pushing down. I'm tried to tell me it was because I smoke? Never had I ever had sores on my gums. While I was inspecting my dentist see where they were off noticed the left front tooth stuck out farther than the right and the two front teeth are off center, seriously. He told me that he had to make them like that because of my y bottom teeth and that my bottom teeth were also the cause of the off center front teeth. My original teeth were not off center and sticking out nor were they off center. Still trying to see if I have to sue them and get my money back and go somewhere else. read more

This office cares about nothing more than lining their pockets. My first visit was for a cleaning, where I was told at the age of 19 ( never having had a single cavity ) - that I needed 4 root canals and 15 crowns. The dentist was extremely rude, and the only thing he said to me was he was going to ' save as many as he can '..... Also told his assistant he needed to start with these root canals to get me out of pain. I had absolutely NO pain. I was there for a CLEANING. I was just made aware he also noted that I needed my wisdom teeth extracted. Went back to my old dentist who has much more experience than this quack job, and was told they sold me a load of bullshit. I need a couple of fillings. That is IT. The fact that they were going to completely destroy my mouth and the teeth I get once for their own benefit, is absolutely disgusting. read more

Unfortunately this place lacks any customer service. I was told I needed crowns. it was an urgent situation. I was told it would be covered, then it wasnt covered. Over a yr later I am still dealing with them. I call numerous of times no one bothers to follow back up with me. I was told my account would be written off. Next month I get a bill again. Then I call and I am told they cant and wont write off the account and we owe this. I was told per notes in their office I call and am making monthly payment. This place is a joke. each time my husband goes there and needs work on a tooth he has countless of issues and his teeth always hurt months and months later. DO NOT GO HERE PERIOD. read more

When this was Atkinson Family Dentistry I left a sterling review. When Smiles purchased the business everything changed except the wonderful building. I give the building 5 stars. I can't, however, see my way clear to anything but a 1 star setting. Atkinson would give you a plan and costs. Smiles takes each issue one at a time and I never received any form of estimate as to how much my insurance would cover. It wasn't until I received a $700 bill that I knew that cost of the treatment. Shortly after Smiles purchased the location, I had two fillings done. This was 2 years ago. Both have fallen out, within 1 week of each other. I would not recommend them for anything other than a dental emergency where you are unable to visit another less corporate dentist. Dr. Atkinson's team really seemed to care. Smiles corporation is not expected to care about anything besides the bottom line. read more

I was a patient here from 12/20 to 06/22. They made so many mistakes time and time again, I will never go back. Two dentists recommended new crowns without explanation, not showing me the issue or going over my options. They sent a referral to the wrong office. They took over 2 weeks to send my records. On and on. I've gone back to my previous dental office, worth the distance. The new dentist says I don't need a new crown on either tooth. read more

First appointment around 2021 the dentist used too much numbing injections turning wisdom teeth removal into two day ordeal. Later appointment they scheduled me for a cleaning even tho I was there for a cavity repair. Third appointment they scheduled a Thursday and a Friday, I called to cancel the Thursday and confirm the Friday. Then they called my wife and told us we had to do the Friday appointment later in the day or reschedule. They always call the wrong number between my wife and I, mess up and change the scheduling, reschedule every appointment and still make mistakes in that process. This business is way too chaotic for us. I don't want a dentist appointment to mess up my weekend schedule every other appointment. read more

I specifically asked that nothing be done that wasn't covered by my insurance. They checked and said it was all covered. Supposedly was, until I went back in & asked them to correct a few things from their work, said corrections were also covered. Then several months later I get a bill for over $500, that on disability checks might as well be $5000. I can only make small payments, & with "finance charge ", it basically cuts my payment in half. So, it'll take forever to just pay off the balance, not counting the extra fees that they just started tacking on. Thanks so much, Smiles ( ) read more

I recently had 3 fillings needing attendance at this location which resulted in one of the most traumatic dental experiences of my life. I have extremely sensitive teeth/gums which having the nitrous does help a bit, but the insensitive staff left me having an anxiety attack. The tech asked if I was Ok as I had tears streaming down my cheeks, gasping for breath and clenching my hands so tightly together it was obvious - I shook My head "NO" but they kept proceeding. The tech said, just keep taking those deep breaths, as they kept going. I left visibly upset and they asked me if I was OK with my response of NO, and walked out. I was left with pain from the injection site in my mouth for almost 2 weeks and traumatized from the experience. I had called office back explaining my traumatizing experience in detail and told them that when a patient says no, or they're not OK, and proceed without taking into account their permission, that is plain and simple ABUSE. I was a victim of abuse at this location by a simple procedure that could have had simply more bedside manner, a gentle touch and technique to not hurt patients. I do not recommend this dentist at all costs. read more

Do not fall for their Facebook promotion of free whitening for life. It is a bait and switch scam. You pay $29 for an initiation fee and the "whitening for life" consists of a one size fits all whitening tray, and you have to buy the refill gel, which they don't even offer in their office! I was told I would get a custom tray made and they would give me the gel refills at each 6-month visit. This was not the case after they got me in for my first appointment. Despite the scam, I loved my hygienist. Such a lovely lady! The dentist on the other hand was not personable and only said a few words to me. He was in and out like fast food service. read more

Incompetent dental technician, incompetent dentist--EVERYTHING had to be re-done! Front office experience reminiscent of high-pressure auto-sales closers. Money wasted and undiagnosed abscess caused a nasty systemic infection, bone loss, a tooth extraction and the expense of the oral surgeon. read more

This use to be Dr Atkinson office and it gone down hill . The treated my wife very poorly . The we're doing a deep cleaning and made her feel like she deserved the pain that she was having . The person that cleaned her teeth was rude and made my wife feel like trash . They could care less about patients or feelings it wasn't until we told them that we will never be back that we got a compassionate person in that office to say they were sorry . read more

I have been a patient here for many years and really like being treated so well! When I first came here I was having a problem with an implant that had moved and was now a different color than the surrounding teeth. They got it fixed fast and a new end for it made that makes my smile look 100x better! Look no farther for a great place to get great help! read more

Very kind and patient. 30 years old and had to have my wisdom teeth taken out. So so scared but they made it so my husband could come back with me and hold my hand.
