I'd like to start with I came in for a emergency visit, there was an issue with my insurance when I got there after waiting 45 minutes after the appointment time I was called back. I had made a comment to the girl with pink hair oh they must have figured out the insurance, she ignored the comment and tried to get the machine to work to take X-rays but was having a hard time and could tell she wasn't happy. I was then brought to a room and more x-rays were taken by Emily! Then Dr Perry came in and had said he recommended pulling a tooth due to a cavity and the tooth being chipped and discussed the cost of removal without insurance applied and that he recommended coming back in a few days after I had some meds to relieve the swelling! When scheduling the front desk person who made the appointment said we can diagnose and fix same day when I brought that up it became an issue. I then had 4 different people come in back to back all saying something different then the next. After finally talking with the office manager they said come back at 2 and we will get it handled (my appointment was at 8am) when I returned at 1:30 to give them more insurance info as I have triple coverage, the front desk was trying to get ahold of insurance and I wasn't brought back until 2:30 where the front desk said they got ahold of one insurance and they will cover 75% I said fine I'll pay the rest and get reimbursed later from insurance! When I was in the room and had been numbed the Dr said I'll let that sit for a few minutes and be back. Well that turned to over 30 minutes because he had a meeting and no one could find him. I was then brought a form to sign for the operation basically if something goes wrong I can't blame them I thought that was weird cause I was already back and had been in the chair numbed! Then the office lady that said insurance would pay 75% came in and asked for the remainder of the balance and was over $100 more then discussed so I asked to have the office manager come in cause the math didn't align after spending 20 minutes talking to the office manager and getting everything figured out because they didn't tell me they were charging me $378 dollars for X-rays from the morning that I never signed for I gave the office manager my card and then she quickly came back saying now insurance won't cover anything because we didn't have pre authorization but was told everything was fine in the morning when I left! We finally came to an agreement that I would pay 25% today and they will try to figure out the insurance and if not they will send me a bill. This office is so disorganized it's not even funny but is very normal when half the people working there are family! The work that was done was good but the service was horrible. I didn't leave until 4:30pm and all that was done was X-rays in the morning and a single tooth removed in the afternoon! They will tell you whatever you want to hear but not the truth, this goes for everyone even DR Perry who didn't tell me I had an infection in the tooth I found out from a pharmacist cause I had to go get meds when I left in the morning for them to even see me in the afternoon! Over all just avoid this place unless you want the most disorganized service of your life! read more

Yes, it is a dental practice, and I don't know of an inexpensive dental practice so despite it being in the upper 1/2 of average dental costs I look more at value, you get what you pay for, and so far I find this dental practice to be of a good value. read more

I don't usually give five star ratings, it's just not something that I believe in myself that anything could have five stars unless they are AMAZING! Well, this place is amazing! From the moment I walked in the door until my checking out, everyone was absolutely FABULOUS! Racheal, my hygienist, was so professional, so gentle, and so thorough, (I hope), that each time I could take a breath during my cleaning I felt so relaxed. Dr. Perry, who had only heard from YouTube, was as real and is need a person is anyone could be. I am new to the Washington area and new to having professionals work with me in this manner, all I can say is that if you want good service good work done the prices (honestly, I really don't know about the prices I have insurance that covers a lot of my dental needs) I think it may work with me coming here until I don't need to go to the dentist anymore... I was very happy to find this dental office. My family and I were patients for 6 years. Dr. Perry helped me through all my dental troubles. I had a crown go bad and had an infection from previous dental work. Dr Perry put in an implant and I was very scared. The dental assistants were always helpful and put my kids at ease. My hygienist always did a manual cleaning because my teeth are too sensitive for anything too powerful I always appreciated that. The wait times can be long sometimes but overall I recommend the office for good dental work and preventative care. read more

The pits...nearly $10k in major $$$ dental work had to be redone by other local dentists and this dental office + dentist need to be avoided entirely. Absurdly overbooked and arrogant...my crowns (4) broke within one year and much more experienced (no self-promotion needed) dentists explained that this is why labs are essential for successful dentistry.   Dr. Perry seemingly could not address why his broken crowns fail because the fellow is in total denial. Worst experience at a dentist. I had fillings done, one tooth removed and an implant/crown put in. This took 6 appointments. They routinely make you wait 45 minutes plus to be seen. 2 of my fillings chipped and broke with in the first 3 months. They are deceptive in explaining billing to you. They quoted me the total price for my implant/ removal/fillings and then after the work was done they added more than a thousand for the crown. Way unexpected since they made the implant/crown initially seem like one price. It's like quoting you a price for the filling and then adding extra for the drilling. I paid $3500 out of pocket. They don't use gas for the health of the dentist. So I got the surprise of getting a my bone drilled without anything to help with my enormous anxiety. I'm not used to having doctors highest priority be their own comfort not their patients. The dentist see's multiple patients at a time. He would get something half way started then disappear for 30 minutes to go to another patients room. Leaving me laying back in the chair with metal stuffed in my mouth and a nurse kept trying to get him to return. She commented on how over booked their new schedule was. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY DENTAL AXIETY. They provide no gas, and they lengthen the time you are in the chair so they can book multiple procedures for the same time. In every matrix of care they are lacking. Exceptionally frustrating, very expensive, poor quality. Avoid at all costs. read more

Found him via his video net advertisements several months ago. Felt pretty good about all he said and encouraged to make an appointment if the opportunity came to be which it did with a sore molar. Appointment was set for 7AM which is not the best time but I did it arriving a little early. Sat in the waiting area for 20 minutes. Not bad I thought. Got led to the exam room and placed on the chair in an upright position which was very uncomfortable. Not having any food and only a coffee at 5:30 my blood sugar was falling and I was getting hungry. A tech came in and questioned me for several minutes and took an xray and exchanged basic communication I felt was useless and should have been queried by the Dr. That is what I was there for. Finally at about 8:10 he came in and we talked about the condition, treatment plan and costs. He mentioned saving the tooth but in reality it was pulling it and doing an implant varying from four and then to five thousand dollars. There is more to add but this is getting wordy. Suffice to say, my impression and expectations diminished rapidly. First impressions are very important when it comes to putting my health care in the hands of another. I'm left feeling I need to go back to Dr. Ernesto Schwedhelm, associate dean for clinics and clinical professor for restorative dentistry at the U of W. I've been going to this office for over 15 years, the first half of which it was run by different dentists. Given how I feel about going to the dentist, picking a new one is something I don't look forward to or do easily. When ownership changed, I was very impressed at first. Some of the staff had carried over from the previous owners, and one of the new additions in particular was a phenomenal dental tech. Literally the best I've ever had at any office. Sadly, he is no longer there. As the years went by, I began to notice changes at the office, both positive and negative. I was always very impressed by how well the office keeps in contact and ensures you don't miss appointments, thereby invoking the dreaded missed appointment fee, for example. Some of the other changes included cutting the waiting area in half to add another patient room, which I certainly don't begrudge them - It is a business after all. I began to get a sense of disquiet, however, shortly after receiving a crown on a cracked molar. The process was quick - First time I didn't have to use a temporary crown for a week or so while the porcelain was was crafted off-site. What others say about the latest technology being available here is very true! That was my second crown ever, and after some time went by I began to feel that there was a difference in quality between this new crown and the other one. For starters, the gum tissue around it has been perpetually irritated ever since it was installed, and one of the edges always catches dental floss and snags it making that area difficult to keep clean. This isn't to disparage the work they do here - It's just a little background to reinforce the point I want to make below: One of the downsides to an office that has all the latest technology is it sometimes feels like they're constantly trying to push add-on services on you - Things not covered by most insurance. Whether it's bleaching, sealing, or in the case of my recurring gum inflammation, antibiotic inserts and laser treatment of the gum tissue. I'd rather they just listened to me, took a look at the crown itself, and maybe address the root cause of the inflammation rather than try to sell me an neverending (and expensive) laundry list of stopgap treatments. I really like the techs that I get for my cleanings and regular check ups, but I also noticed that the last three times I've been in, the doctor himself never came in to look at my teeth. I haven't been a problem patient nor been a critic of the crown work (beyond asking politely if they could look at the edge of the crown to insure it was fit properly on two occasions). Certainly nothing confrontational. Anyway, the bottom line is I went inactive here and chose a new dentist - Not because they were bad or incompetent, but because I felt I'd lost that personal touch with my doctor and was seen as a revenue stream rather than a person. After getting a second opinion on my crown work, I'll update this review. I know how negative reviews can damage good businesses and do not make them lightly. read more

I've been to Dental practices where the staff was terrible and the dentist was outstanding. It's the other way around at Perry Family Dentistry. I was left waiting for over 30 minutes more than once, and one time, after waiting 30 minutes, I was told the dentist could not see me at all. On top of this, multiple mistakes were made regarding my treatment due to a lack of attention to basic details. It was all very amateurish. read more

I am new in the area, so finding a good dentist was important. I chose Perry Family Dentistry because of all the good reviews, and the notation that they were voted Skagit Best in 2018. My first appointment was for an exam and cleaning, and I have no complaints with the hygienist, Vanessa. However when Dr. Perry came in, he spoke very briefly with the hygienist, looked at my x-rays, and left without saying one word of introduction to me. As a new patient, I felt confused by that. He also did not look at my teeth at all. I decided that perhaps there was some more important situation that meant he didn't have time. My x-rays showed I needed a filling so I came back a couple months later for that appointment. Again I have no complaints with the dental assistant Carlos for the prep he did for me. But when Dr. Perry came in, he again said not one word to me. He took the drill and drilled long and hard and left. Carlos constructed the filling. He told me that it might be sensitive for 2-3 weeks. It has now been 7 weeks and the sensitivity continues to worsen. I am going to need to find a new dentist to fix whatever was done. I have never had a filling without the dentist doing the work or at least supervising the work. Dr. Perry was not in the room. I saw him as I left the office, so I know he was on the premises. There was no one waiting in the waiting room. The office sent me a text message asking me to tell about my experience. I told them my view of the experience. I got no response at all. I am not going to return. I don't know who wrote all the wonderful reviews that influenced me to try this office, but my experience was not good. read more

They had a hygenist that was suppose to have transferred their license from Florida to WA work on my teeth for over a year. It turns out the hygenist was unlicensed, damaged my gums and I lost a tooth. I was never compensated for the lost tooth. I went to a periodontal specialist and received an implant. It cost me $4,000. The story is very long, I was lied to, told not to seek another option etc. I was also told by Dr. Perry that I couldn't get an implant because my bone was not there. I strongly warn anyone against this dentistry office. Go in for a cleaning - but do not have work done! I write this almost one full year after treatment. I am still experiencing TMJ, and I believe that it is the result of poor work completed by Dr. Perry and his associates. Before seeing the staff at Perry Family Dentistry, I had no pain, no TMJ, and no complaints about any of my teeth. I had been without any dental work for over 6 years, and was quite happy. I received a teeth cleaning by the Perry Family Dentistry hygienist, Rich, who was very nice and delivered a warm and caring service. He also answered any questions I had very thoroughly. Dr. Perry looked at my teeth and recommended that I have two cavities in my molars 'drilled & filled.' Since I had insurance at the time, I thought, "why not?" When I went in for the recommended procedures - another dentist (not the Dr. Perry I had met with before) who did not introduce herself to me began work on my mouth. It was quick. 5 hours after my visit - my jaw was still numb on the side of the local anesthesia injection. As soon as the following day I was experiencing pain in a particular tooth. I had not been experiencing this before receiving 'care' at Perry Family Dentistry. What was of more concern to me: my jaw was cracking and popping, my bite was not fitting as usual. I had not been experiencing any jaw trauma before I had my cavities filled by this administration. I called the office to make an appointment. This is where things get fishy. When I went in and met with Dr Perry himself - I told him what I just told you, in a very calm and concerned way; that i was experiencing pain in one tooth and also jaw problems. He reacted very defensively. He told me that "This isn't some fly-by-night operation" and told me that I was, "making accusations." He told me, "They're only your teeth." He also told me that I needed to understand my teeth better than I did.. as if the problems occurring since my visits with him and his staff were the results of me not understanding how a compound bite fits together. May I remind you - that I did not have complaints about the functioning of my jaw or any of my teeth before seeing these people. It was on their recommendation that I had work done. I should have known right then that this was not someone to be trusted. Instead, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He offered to work on the problem tooth for free, and so I accepted. It was when he demonstrated 'how weak' this particular place was on my tooth that I began to fear who was 'treating' me. He used his sharp tool to press extremely hard, down onto the tooth. I know he was pressing hard because I watched him leverage his grip- his whole arm was in action pushing into my tooth! After that I just wanted to get out of there alive. He was insulting, dishonest, aggressive, and dodgy. I figured that my jaw would get better, yet, a year later and this TMJ just isn't going away - it's been getting worse. I can feel with my tongue how they hollowed out my teeth - the ones I used to grind food with. Instead of fitting together, these teeth are now shaped like bowls, and eating something as soft as an avocado can make my jaw pop. I would have called the office again if I thought that they had the capacity to be 'compassionate' or even 'caring' like their web ads say - but I just don't think it would be a good idea, at this point I'm too angry and full of mistrust for these people, namely Dr. Perry. I figure that the best thing to do would be to warn other people who might be exposed to the same non-care that I was treated with by these 'professionals'. Go somewhere else - there are better dentists out there. read more

There's always going to be that one person with the bad experience, well ... that would be me. I'm a new client so I don't have much history with this business. What I can say of my first few visits, the staff was overwhelmingly friendly and gentle with me. I had a crown prepared buy them and on another occasion a general cleaning. The problem I experienced on my last two visits though, were wait times in the lobby. After speaking with Dr. Perry, he confirmed with me that they have been overbooking clients. This is an unexceptable practice in any business and I feel no one should have to wait more than 10 minutes past their scheduled appointments. These establishments will bill your insurance company if you don't notify them 24 hours in advance in the event of a cancellation, but what about the consumers that are waiting minutes and hours in the lobby? Isn't our time just as valuable? As much as I like the staff, I will take my business elsewhere. read more

They might have the skills, but their bedside manner is absolutely terrible. They refused to do a filling that needed to be done based on the fact I couldn't afford a cap, and said they wouldn't do any other fillings until I did the cap. Switched dentists, and they they refused to send my newest x-rays to my new dentist, and instead sent ones that were over 2 years old. I'm extremely happy I switched and didn't deal with their ridiculous attitude. read more

My questions when making my appointment were met with answers right then, the office is clean and neat and everyone seems very happy there. When I had my appointment for my crown all went well, I had some numbing drug the work was done and I was on my way! Another bonus is the fact that the crown was done in 1 day...no follow up needed!! The best dentist I've ever had. Dr. Perry has done a LOT of work on my teeth, including crowns, and I'm very happy with all the results. He is especially good with keeping the pain & discomfort to a minimum. Very advanced technology, with computer acquired pictures of your teeth (no old-fashioned x-rays) and crowns custom made in house with one visit. The staff is friendly and fun. The atmosphere of the office is pleasant. I didn't understand the one negative review at all, because both my husband and I have seen Dr. Perry for years now and we both love him. read more

Dr. Perry and his team took care of me for the last two years. They were very accommodating. Dr. Perry takes time to explain treatment options and answers questions. I enjoyed that this is a pretty high tech office. The crowns are done at the office and the procedure is done from start to finish in one day. Very convenient! 4 out of 5 stars only because it is not the cheapest option, but it depends on your insurance and if you like convenience you have to pay a little more wherever you go. I have learned to seek out a Dentist who has invested in their practice and education. When I moved to Burlington to take a new job I researched Dentists in the area who could do the entire implant process and could also place crowns in one sitting. I found Dr. Perry to be such a dentist. He has replaced four crowns with one more to go. His work is excellent! I have found him to be a master craftsman when it comes to fitting the new crowns. Dr. Perry and his staff is great with my family. When we come in to get any dental work done, Dr. Perry re-evaluates the tooth (or teeth) and explains exactly what is going on for each tooth that he will be working on and why it needs to be repaired or crowned. It feels wonderful to be going to a dentist that doesn't just plop down, work on you, then get up and leave. Sometimes there's a wait for the next available appointment or for him to see you during your appointment time, but it's definitely worth it! read more

I have never been so mistreated my a dentist in my life. I went to Dr. Perry for my cavity. Dr. Perry made it feel like I was not important and just a burden to him. I informed him that I have been taking ibuprofen for a week to keep the pain from driving me crazy and so i could sleep. Dr. Perry said to keeping taking it until my next appointment a week from then. On the second appointment, they moved it up 40 minutes and then had me wait an hour before calling me in I did not get an apology for having to wait so long. After 2 and a half hours of drilling and filling which was so incredibly painful I have been have nightmare about it since. I was told to keep taking ibuprofen for the pain. I had already informed them of the fact that I had stopped taking it because I was waking up at night from severe abdominal pain. They gave me a pathetic look and said sorry then sent me away. I will never recommend them to anyone and I hope you will go to someone else. read more

This dentist came highly recommended by a few friends. At first I had mostly positive experiences from around 2011 to 2012. There was a fantastic dental technician that made the place great, named Rich. I was never overly impressed with dr. Perry, but his work seemed to be fine but I did feel often belittled over whether I could afford his work. I always pay, can afford to pay, yet every time he always questioned my ability to pay. Unfortunately, things went downhill quickly by around 2013. The great dental technician was gone and the replacements just were not up to par. Then one day I had a cracked filling that needed a crown. It took this untrained, apparently, technician at least 5 times to take one Xray before the doctor came in and showed her how to do it!! Then the final straw was my last visit in 2014. I had a small cavity to fill. Without warning, and I guess this is now legal in this state, the technician did the entire procedure from numbing my mouth, drilling, and filling!!!! And the guy barely spoke English and was nervous as could be. To say the least, that was it for me. Why a dentist would do that to a patient with no warning or given a 'choice' was pretty bad. It may be legal, but it's a cheap way to go. And since that time, I come to find out the friends who recommended Perry had left for another dentist as well. read more

I've had great dentists, I've had great hygienists and assistants, and I've had great office staff at a dentist's office. But never all in one place! I love this group. Dr. Perry is patient and concerned with your comfort when doing a procedure. Even with me, a self-proclaimed dental tough girl, he constantly asked if I was okay or having pain during a recent crown/filling. When I did, he apologized and changed whatever was needed to make it better. Rich Gibson is the best hygienist ever! It's not very often you find one who actually makes you laugh during a cleaning. Charlene is sweet and great about providing tips and advice, like ways to floss more often and catching spots easily missed when brushing. Finally, the office staff is friendly and willing to answer your questions, no matter how routine. Last time I was in, everyone greeted me by name, even those I wasn't seeing that day. In the past, I have had dentist anxiety to the extreme. On a fairly recent visit, Dr. Perry told me that I had to get 2 crowns, which was not good news to me. It took me a few weeks to get up the nerve, and then made the appointment. Dr. Perry and his staff know that I am a nervous patient, and did everything they could to make the experience as comfortable as possible for me. I have no problems stating what I need, and my questions and requests were respected. Dr. Perry was very calm with me the whole time, and took the time to tell me everything that he was about to do. What I most appreciate is that the Novocaine he used did not hinder my ability to swallow or breathe, as I have had in the past with other dentists. He has a sure hand. I was able to get both crowns done in one visit, and happily, through the great work from both he and his staff, no longer have dentist anxiety. What a thrill and relief for me! read more
