New resident in Sacramento, became a patient with Smiles Dental Studio and Dr Khan examined me, took xrays, did cleaning in October. All good. Then had a broken tooth that was causing pain and needed a crown. Called Smiles Dental and was told they could not do a crown for several weeks. Went to another dentist who asked me to have my xrays sent to their office which I did and that dentist did the crown. When I called Dr Khan's office to schedule next appt was told my account was "deactivated" by my asking for my xrays to be sent to another dentist. They refused to "reactivate" it, said it was against company policy. Guess they have enough patients, don't need more. read more

I am giving a 3 since I had 4 crowns and only 2 are good. Yes the office is friendly , clean. But that does not change the fact that my 2 crowns feel like 2 globs of enamel . I visited Dr. Khan at Smiles Dental Studio this morning to correct a loose crown on an implant that she installed 3 years ago. According to Dr. Khan, the screw that holds down the crown came loose and needed to be tightened. However, the screw was only part of the problem. The crown itself was never properly installed, as the base of the crown never met the gum-line, and the crown itself was never properly seated to the abutment/post. The crown should fit tightly over the post, then screwed down, but the crown was never fitted to the post. When I had this work done 3 years ago, the doctor had to send the crown back to the lab once or twice because it did not fit right. By the third time I went in to have it installed I think we were all exasperated and she just installed what she had. The crown never met the gum-line and when I flossed the string easily slipped under the tooth to the metal post. I figured as long as I flossed often and used my Waterpik, I could keep the food from accumulating under there. I wanted to give Dr. Khan the opportunity to correct her error and shoddy work, but when I started questioning why the crown was never properly seated to the abutment in the first place she started to look nervous. I'm guessing she was hoping the screw would never loosen so as to make it appear that all fitted properly, but I have since learned that the screw loosened because the crown was never properly installed. I think she felt I might go after her legally, so she stated she was not comfortable performing any more work on my mouth. So I left and am now having to pay another dentist to correct her poor work. Last note: I am not new to crowns. I have had 16 crowns installed by several dentists over a 50 year span, including two implants. This is the only one I had done by this dentist. And this is the only time I've had an issue with a crown. She and her staff are nice people, and her office is neat and clean. However, as a professional in the dental field, her work and her ethics to correct mistakes leave much to be desired and I would never recommend her. read more

DON'T GO HERE, THEY ARE NO GOOD!! Here is my experience: I spent $5000 on getting braces because it's what the dentist at Smiles Dental Studio said that I had to do before getting composite veneers. I spent two years wearing these braces and was only supposed to be wearing them for one. Throughout these two years she only changed my wire three times, I know that the wire should be changed more often than that because my daughter had braces (at a REAL orthodontics office) and her wire was changed almost every appointment or every other appointment and she had them often. The dentist that worked with me, and honestly all the staff, were incredibly standoffish and rude (and I am not the person to point this out because I understand that everyone has a bad day every once in a while) it was so bad that I began to feel nervous asking questions. The progression o my treatment wasn't noticeable and after a year of them on my teeth still looked the same. I often swallowed my nerves to ask why my teeth weren't shifting and whether or not it had to do with my wires or possibly they needed to refer me to someone else's office, which is fine, but if you can't do it, say so. She always told me that I'm impatient and that she knew what she was doing. SPOILER ALERT: She has no idea what she is doing. So on top of being rude and a terrible dentist, she also took five thousand dollars from me to leave my teeth looking almost identical to the way they did before. And the worst part is that when I asked about the composite veneers afterward, she said my teeth are just too strangely shaped to do it and that the braces did all they could. I know this isn't true because my mother and my daughter had teeth that were identical to mine before getting orthodontic treatment and they both have beautiful smiles now, there also wasn't much off with my bite and the only teeth that were really crooked were my front four due to them being slanted back slightly. I am deeply disheartened and don't know what else to do other than write a review. I'd like to be compensated for my time and money lost at least. Anyways. Don't go here, just trust me, I wouldn't want anyone to have the experience that I had. Especially because a smile is so important for one's confidence. There are better offices out there that'll be tremendously more helpful and much easier to work with. In case you didn't read the whole review the gist is: Look elsewhere for care. read more

After I tried calling 10 or so other dentists that were within my insurance network, I finally called Dr. Khan's office. They were open on the holiday.. thank goodness! She agreed to see my son within an hour of my call. After we arrived we only waited 10 minutes. They were friendly, thorough, and kind.
