I initially enjoyed this place but it has changed over the last three years. I suspect business pressures have dropped the quality of service. My last two visits I waited 30+ minutes after my appointment time before I was even admitted. The second time they actually ran out of chairs so I ended up standing in the waiting room. Once in I was rushed through my checkup and the dentist missed a major issue, which was confirmed by another dentist at another place who even showed me the x ray. The next visit the told me they told me I would be able to get a deep cleaning. I confirmed with the receptionist that day that a deep cleaning would happen but after waiting 45 minutes I was rushed through an exam then told this was just an exam and not a cleaning. Additionally they told me they do not do cleanings without prior approval from the insurance company and that it would take 2 weeks because they have to fax the insurance company the details. Very different than what I was told at the front desk. Also different than what happened 2 or 3 years ago when I went there. After two weeks I contacted the insurance company and they told me they gave all the details to them the day of appointment and they had never recieved an authorization request (which they accept via email, again different than the office told me). I called the dental office and they told me even if they emailed today it has to go through a 3rd party provider that they cannot connect me with or prove a phone number to. I asked why I am doing all the work when it appears that either they or their 3rd party appears to have dropped the ball. They stated they do not contact insurance companies. I simply went to another office and got treatment before they even sent me a followup message (which took another month) If you care about timely care, an accurate diagnosis, or accurate description of services, I would advise going somewhere else. read more

Care is good, quality of care is so far a 90%. Office experience: front desk help is friendly, informative. On top of their work process, On schedule. Dental process is a LONG wait time before getting treatment. Sometimes you can sit there waiting and then someone will come and do their work (X-rays) and then your waiting period can be long for next session. And nobody will inform you what the hold up is unless you ask. The wait is the annoying part. ‍. TV is great but people have things to do. Do not get dentures from this place!!! The first set of dentures I got three years ago were great. But they must have switched to a cheaper dental lab. I took so long to get them! This new one is terrible. Has an inferior feel and the the bite is so bad that I can't eat with them. I just put them in so it sort of looks like I have teeth. No one ever gets back to me. read more

4 years later...we still love this office. Dr Rivera and Dr Flores are great. I'm the biggest cry baby and they put me at ease. The female endodontist (I don't know her name) is my least favorite person at the office. Not because she is a bad Dr but because her bedside manner is subpar. I won't take a star away because of her, that's not fair to the amazing ladies that run the front and back office as well as the techs, hygienists and of couse Dr R and Dr F. They, are all amazing and reassuring. One thing I love about SWMV is that they remember you and details of passing conversations. They treat you like family. Going to the dentist isn't easy for alot of people, but they make it suck less lol...except for the lady endo, she sucks! read more

This place is a joke they will make you waste your time and have you waiting for a long time ,they don't honor appointment times and apparently they double book appointments at the same time for all their other patients it's a first come first serve type of place, that explains the long wait time. I don't recommend this office to anyone. Also the two girls that are in the front desk have resting b**** faces like they don't want to be there, They definitely don't greet you with a friendly smile or hello. 1 star for cleanliness that's all. read more

Went as emergency, in pain, took one month of them telling me I needed authorization from my insurance. 3rd visit in pain, needed tooth pulled. Charged me out of pocket $855 for a bone graft not done. Also Charged Medi-cal for 2 teeth not pulled and nitrous oxide that they already charged me for! When I requested my records, sent forged documents, with not even the correct date!!!! Denti-Cal is on this and has encouraged me to file a complaint with the Dental State Board of CA!!!! read more

The worst experience with these people. Went to get an extraction done and it took them more than 2 hours and then they finally put me in a little area where I still had to wait still. Dr came in speaking Spanish, never introduced himself or anything he just starts talking and when I said excuse me he tried to play it off like he was talking to his assistant. He left and never came back, Nelly came in trying to collect money before they even did anything and she never got back to any of the 4 calls I had left for her. Natalie came in after and asked if I wanted water or to go get food, told her I wanted to get the procedure done so I could go home. I ask her to please check with dr to see how much longer and she left and never came back. They left me sitting in the back so I got up and walked to leave and they tried to stop me and tell me something but I told them it was ridiculous to wait that long. When I was making my way towards the front all the employees had cleaned up and were leaving, they also had the front lobby lights off. This place was ridiculous they overbook patients with the specialist and want to bill you some outrageous amount that was never talked about and try to practically turn the lights off when patients are still there. In the end nobody could find where the specialist was supposedly. Once I left they kept blowing up my phone but it was ridiculous. Disappointed in this place because initial visit was smooth and quick. Don't come here if you want to get ripped off. read more

Terrible service. I've not gone here in several years but the several times I've gone I was there for 3 hours when there were no other patients in sight. My mom has gone several times recently to say the exact same thing. Not sure what they are doing during this time, but they shouldn't leave patients waiting for 3+ hours. read more

Normally, I'm very particular about where I go for my dental visits. I've been to some that left me concerned about the hygiene practices of their doctors. But it wasn't a bad experience! Everyone is professional, while also maintaining a friendly atmosphere. Very clean, too! I'm very happy with the work I received. I hope to keep them as my dentist for a long time. read more

I like to say Dr. Dagwood was very nice . He made me feel relaxed and comfortable. And that's incredible because I never feel that way in a dentist office . His Staff was very nice . after years of going to the same dentist in Moval and change after change of dentists and staff in the past 3 years I decided to find a new dental office. My son has been going to Smiles West for a few years and I decided to try it. What a GREAT decision. The office is very clean and has modern updated equipment. The staff is FANTASTIC. If I could leave no stars I would. I saw one other review with an experience similar to mind and I should have listened. First off the dental assistant was very rude and unfriendly. After they took my x-rays I sat in a chair for 45 minutes with no one checking up on me or telling me what I was even waiting for. I got up multiple times looking for someone and no one bothered to check in or explain. Finally when someone came by they claimed I had about $8,000 worth of things that needed to be done that also coincidentally wasn't covered by my insurance. I had just been to the dentist 6 months ago and had no issues so I find it hard to believe that all of a sudden I needed $8,000 worth of work done. They were 100% trying to pry money out of me AFTER making me waste my time just sitting there. I didn't even end up getting a cleaning done which is covered by my insurance because they INSISTED I get a type of cleaning that isn't covered so they can charge me $735. Overall they wasted 3 hours of my time, rude, unprofessional, and straight up scammers. I do NOT recommend anyone to go here. read more

I read all the reviews before I decided to come here. I decided to give them a chance. Which I very much REGRET coming here and will note to NEVER come back again. The doctor is absolutely RUDE. He hit me with the i'm the doctor here and started listing all his pointless degrees or whatever. Like yay congratulations ! I don't care , can we at least focus on my teeth ? THE MAIN REASON I CAME. Then the waiting time was way longer than usual dentistry's i've been too. When I went into the waiting room the lady in the front had the audacity to say didn't go well huh. WITH AN ATTITUDE like are you serious ? this is no way to talk to a costumer personally. Call me bratty but this isn't the service i'd like to get treated by. If there was an option to ZERO STARS i'd absolutely do it. DONT COME HERE ! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE !! there are much better places ! SAVE YOURSELF ! I spent 2 hours just so he can say "no I can't do this for you" & thats it.
