Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.

Our fireplace was on during one of the coldest day's and heard popping and vibration noises in the chimney and turned it off. After Isaac arrived to inspect our chimney inside our fireplace, in the attic and on top of our roof, he determined everything looked securely connected with no issues. He determined since it was so cold and the heat from having the fireplace on was only expansion noises. We felt very comfortable with him showing us that everything was still in place and we had no problem moving forward. He was very, professional and reassuring that we will definitely use him again for any future issues. Identified only the things needed for the AC replacement. Two other companies, missed to account for the return ducts and added the cost to install 2 new return ducts to the quote. Ezekiel after the inspection, told no need to any extra inspection. Complete HVAC system replaced and all the old equipment were hauled away. Job finished in 1 day. Ezekiel explained the maintenance of the new unit and gave info about the new AC filter and explained about the new Lennox thermostat. In few days, got an email with information about warranty. They had best finance option, 5 year 0% interest installments, compared to other companies which were offering only 18 months option.

When something goes wrong, just know labor was upwards of $500 for a part installation. The only time they did not charge was when the brand new units were not working directly after install. At this point I don't care about a warranty on parts to continue using these irreputable people who do not stand by their work. Currently battling a heavy leak in the roof from a vent directly under unit coming from the condensate pan and will not call these people to come into our house ever again. FYI drain lines are not the culprit. Too many issues for a brand new unit post-install. This is the 3rd issue in two years or less.
