After calling B & H Parts company numerous times, they continue to be disrespectful and impolite…read more The purpose of my calls was to talk to Tom Goodie the manager of B&H, who is rarely in the yard about the 1982 Checker sitting in the lot. Associates continue to talk about selling it whole for $1500 to $1800 or crushing it. Then hang up after I explain that I am looking for ways to save this car. Guess if you don't play by their rules, they leave. Evidently, my encounters are similar to others who have dealt with them considering the comments left on various sites. I guess they are still in business because people are willing to pay such prices or know someone. While talking to a body shop person who wanted to buy a truck door, B&H wanted $400 - which listed else where for $300. When the person explained how only sheet metal was needed not all the extras, the sales person wouldn't budge. A friend acquired it later for $50. Interesting enough, there are other Checkers out there for less money and better condition. My concern is that we lose another vehicle that could be used by someone for his or her car. This is more important then scrape metal. Please let me know if you have any suggestions to save this piece of history for the future. My home is about 15 minutes away from their junkyard. I am willing to work in any capacity that I am capable in doing to save it. Third time is a charm. At least for getting me never to return…read more 1) The first wonderful experience was receiving an incorrect bulb for turn signal. They looked it up for me. Not the end of the world but frustrating. 2) I purchased an entire stainless exhaust system for my VW including rubber hangers. I am not sure what vehicle those hangers belong to but they are not for a VW. They are still in my garage. I keep kicking them around from time to time. I attempted to return them but the incompetent employee couldn't figure out how to let me return them and I needed to return home to complete my oil change. After 20 minutes I left with these parts and the oil. I DID NOT return to this location since that time about 2 years ago. They are 10 minutes away from my house. 3) Final straw. Today I attempted to purchase a battery at this store. Manager was unwilling to go out in the cold and only wanted to sell me the battery. (Yes I could have done it but they advertise that they do it for you and if I am spending over $150 on a battery they can change it for me. I had to jump the car to be able to leave. Maybe corporate would be interested in the fact that a snow storm was coming. My wife and I both returned home after the snow started. We planned on running out and getting this before the snow. I am guessing that a lawyer would have had a real opportunity here if we had been involved in an accident because we had to get a battery. Or if we ended up stranded and injured. I will not be going back to this location EVER. I have not had issues with any other AutoZone but I am contemplating banning them all after this one store.

I've spent many hours and an additional $600 in labor fees for the mistakes made by this incompetent lot. I still do not have the correct part and I am now out about $2k because of them. My truck is parked and they are refusing to refund my money even though they have yet to provide me with the correct part. They are also ignoring my calls and when they do pickup they pass me around, put me on hold, and one time they hung up on me! Do yourself a favor and avoid these guys at all cost.

Paul assured me that I can pick up the parts on October 15 (I live in Baltimore and we spoke in the evening on October 14, so I couldn't pick up the parts at the same day for obvious reasons). He even wrote down name and phone number. I confirmed that I will arrive at noon on October 15 to pick up the parts. As promised, I arrived to the autoparts store at 1.30 pm on October 15. I was told that the parts that have been booked for me were sold to another customer earlier that morning. I spent 4 hours driving to the store, $70 for gas and tolls, and it's all for nothing, only because Paul can't keep his promises. I wouldn't recommend this auto parts store to anybody. Rather than fix his mistake, he recommended she go somewhere else to get it fixed! So much for "free installation"; not only will it cost money to have the bolt drilled out, but what should have been a simple/quick repair now requires more running around since the recommended repair shop had no techs available. You can be sure we'll think twice before getting service here again. If a store can't deliver on its promise, then it shouldn't make the promise.
