I've never written one of these, in fact I had to download the Yelp app just so that I could. My wife parked her Prius, that has an exclusively electronic keyless entry system, at the Portland airport short term structure and flew to California for business. While in Cali in her rental car, she was struck by another vehicle. In the commotion of seeing a doctor, dealing with the rental company, and her job she went there for in the first place, she lost her Prius keys. The Toyota dealer wanted an outlandish price for programming the new key, plus the purchase of the key itself, and to top it all the car had to be towed to the dealership. Impossible! I am so impressed by Smiling Locksmith! We ended up locked out of our house yesterday when our front door lock basically imploded. Blaize was out in about an hour. He was very upfront about how long it would take and even gave me the opportunity to find someone who may be able to come out quicker, while still driving out to us (so awesome, seriously!). My 91 year old mother needed a new front door lock and handle. The first call I made was to what looked like a local locksmith listed on the Internet. After some run around we made an appointment for the next day. As I did more research it became clear that the field of locksmithing has been taken over by scams. I need 3 deadbolts rekeyed and I requested quotes from several locksmith services. The Smiling Locksmith , aka Blaize, responded fairly quickly with a fair price and he was able to schedule me in within 2 days. I am extremely happy with the work he did. he finished in a timely manner and he was very cool and professional. He did the locks on my security doors only, he didn't feel comfortable rekeying the ones on my inner doors because they were antique and he isn't experienced with that kind of lock. Our front door lock mechanism broke hours before listing our house for sale! This is a high end mortise lock & the manufacturer said it would take weeks to ship a replacement (no longer under warranty). Blaize (Smiling Locksmith) showed up quickly, diagnosed the problem, and had the repair done in no time. Even when the work required extra time he explained why, how long, and followed up on what he said. So many locksmiths out there are scammy, but this guy was legit. You can't go wrong with this fellow. He is detail-oriented by nature and takes pride in his work, and genuinely believes in making sure the customer is on board with his approach. He replaced a worn-out master key for my truck. By the way, I thought it might be easier to drive to a locksmith shop to get the key done, and maybe it would save me a few bucks over calling a mobile unit-- but it is clear to me now that a locksmith has everything they need in a van, and there's no need to pay overhead for a storefront. I called Smiling Locksmith after being referred by my daughter and son-in-law. I needed some locks rekeyed. Blaise took apart on of my locks and said it should be replaced soon because it was old and wouldn't last much longer.
