Loyal customer and love the service and product but when my card renews or I have to cancel one (fraud) I get skipped. I was told that there were emails sent in regard to payment, but I have none in inbox or junk folder, so that cannot be true. I was told they called and left a message which I believe, but I did not receive it (not their fault). This is going to hurt the delivery salesman. I had an order of $60.+ and I will cancel other deliveries until I get over the fact that they skip me after I have easily paid for several of their trucks over the last 20 years. Hands down the freshest best milk and dairy products available. We have run out of Smith Brother's milk two times prior to our weekly delivery. The first time we bought a gallon of store brand milk that we used to buy before starting getting Smith Brother's milk delivered. I was shocked at how bad it tasted compared to the fresh Smith Brothers's milk we had been drinking for months. The second time we ran out before our next delivery we purchased the more expensive Darigold milk thinking it would be closer to the fresh delicious Smith Brothers's milk. However, it too was nearly undrinkable!! We now make sure to order enough milk each week so we don't run out. Their new iPhone app is so convenient when I need to make a change to my order (Usually to add more milk). Our milkman places our fresh milk in our refrigerator on our porch each Tuesday! We have noticed that our monthly grocery expenses have gone down even with the very slightly more expensive milk. We don't have to go to the store twice a week to get milk and end up buying more things we don't need! I can't thank Smith Brother's enough! I've been a long time customer (around 6 years) and recently there was an issue with my payment card. Instead of reaching out to me personally, they simply sent an auto email indicating that there was a problem with my card, I was out of town and not expecting a delivery during that time. When I got home and checked in again (card info was up to date) they emailed telling me that they are cancelling my account. I expected better treatment after being a long term and loyal customer, paying more because they are a local business. The customer service has always been mediocre at best. I first learned about Smith Brothers at the Fremont Market, and kept seeing them around so finally gave it a shot. They were a bit hesitant about coming to my apartment, but because it is exterior access and close to the street (you'd think the rent would be less) they started delivering. The box is easy to clean and keeps things cold, especially if I'm gone for a few hours. You can always call and they will bring ice packs along. The milk is fresh and it lasts a while. I like the flexibility the most, because I don't always need it. The wide selection of items is ever changing. I use it in conjunction with my Amazon Fresh. read more

I came online to change our order for this week, and just happened to read a few of the reviews. There were some uncomplimentary reviews that I read that really surprised me. We've had delivery service now for several years, and I our experience had been nothing but good. The service has been flawless, and the milk is unsurpassed in quality by anything available in the grocery stores. Often other brands of milk have an "off-taste" that sometimes is so bad it is not drinkable. This has NEVER happened with Smith Brothers milk. I like the fact that they do not "ultra" pasteurize their milk as I think that changes the taste, and I see no need to have milk last for two months! I also like the fact that they do not put a plastic "spout" on their bottles, which is not necessary and creates more plastic to recycle or pollute the environment. We have now been using them for a few weeks, our delivery's are always on time! Great service! I love that their milk is hormone free. All of their items are super good quality and always fresh. We love Smith Bros! Josh Martin is our milkman and he is fantastic. He delivers every week and is in and out before I even turn the house lights on to get moving in the morning. Never once have I been woken up (which is shocking because I'm a light sleeper). Finally its like the old school customer svc that we crave so badly these days! He doesn't have to leave little notes for the kiddo or even leave a thank you card when we leave him a Christmas gift but he does and I have to tell you-this is the cherry on top. Our daughter thinks Josh is the best and they've never even met face to face. My husband is a milk snob and now refuses to drink anything but Smith Bros milk. Great stuff and great employee! Looking at the reviews and seeing that there are so many single star ratings complaining about the same crumby service, and then a suspiciously large amount of raving reviews definitely makes me think that their employees are chiming in on this. Beware of getting involved with this delivery service. Customer service is bad, they deliver expired food, and charge a delivery fee for already overpriced products. Canceling is a hassle as you have to call a number to speak to them directly during their business hours. It's just one hassle after another. I originally thought that it was just the quirks of a local small company but I see now that their way of doing things is churning them a bigger profit at their customer's expense. read more

Had just signed up for service a few days ago after hearing rave reviews and always liking their dairy products. It was a modest starting order to try things out. My confirmed delivery date comes and no delivery. At 6pm that night I receive a voice mail stating they cant service my place because my entry gate is too narrow for the delivery truck. I don't have an entry gate to my complex so I call them back to find out what the problem is. I am told the delivery driver has left a note stating he can't service my complex because the delivery truck can't navigate through. I try explaining that there is nothing narrow or small about the entry, I have a circle drive (meaning they don't have to back out) and full size school buses, garbage trucks and other delivery vehicles have no problems. The woman just states, "sorry we can't service your area". Talk about horrible customer service. read more

Like other, I HATE to give a bad review. Aside from a few cracked eggs I've never really had a problem, and that's where our tale begins... It was all to good to be true. One day, a mommy and her two kids awaited their milk delivery anxiously, by lunch time it had not come, but mommy did not fret, and continued to wait patiently. By 3 o'clock when the fridge was still absent its normal milk and eggs the mommy started to worry, what if the driver broke down? Did the driver get in an accident? What could've happened to have caused the empty milk box to remain empty?! By about 4 o'clock the mommy decided to call the Smith Brothers, and inquired as to where her milk could be, as it hadn't made it to the milk box yet, the conversation went like this.... "In our system it says the milkman couldn't access your milk box..." *insert puzzled sigh from the mommy* "Was there anything blocking your milk box?" "No." Says the mommy. "Do you have construction going on?" "No..." Says the mommy. "Do you have a dog?" "No...." Says the mommy. "Was your milk box out?" "Yes, it's been in the same place it's been in for over a year..." Says the now slightly annoyed mommy. "Let me call the driver and see what happened. He's done for the day, but I'll call you back when we figure this out." Folks, I'd like to say I got a call back, but I didn't. Around the middle of the next week I reached out to Smith Brothers on twitter, they also said they would look into it, I got a similar series of questions about the access to my milk box, then a response basically saying they don't have a reason I never received my delivery, and it won't happen again. Sorry Smith Brothers. That's not good enough. I shouldn't have had to have a PUBLIC wall to wall convo on twitter to find out you were clueless, and I should've gotten a call back. Some might think I'm over reacting, but frankly, I don't care. That was the WORST customer service ever, and I'm furious they didn't even let me know my milk wasn't delivered, no notation on my account or anything. The idea is great, and I too am sentimentally attached to milk delivery, having received it as a kid. However, their website is not user friendly (especially for changing orders). I also doubt the "we're just a simple family farm" aspect of their products. Seems to me like they are producing on a fairly large scale, and we all know what that means. This is my first Yelp post, conceived because I just spoke with one of the most irritating/passive aggressive "customer service" people ever, who when I told her that my recently changed order was wrong said, "well, sometimes people make mistakes." About me! No apology for my inconvenience, no thanks for my patronage, no "customer is always right" philosophy (in fact, the dead opposite). I was so stunned, I told her I had to hang up before I said something I'd regret. I would cancel right now if I didn't have 3 milk guzzling kids in my house. And I'll still probably cancel - the convenience of milk delivery may not be enough to outweigh the pissed off/ankle-grabbing feeling I'll get now each time I open my milk box. I've spoken to a lot of customer service people in my day, and wow. Just wow. When I contacted about missing milk....no answer.....I love the products but QC and customer service email need upgrading. It is superior products that I am am more than happy to pay for. I was looking for sustainability -- I'd give them 4-5 stars if I was looking for convenience or nostalgia. We just tried Smith Bros for a few months and decided to cancel. I tried them out because I wanted to buy local milk from a local business -- I was interested in signing up for sustainability reasons, not for the convenience (though of course that's nice too). I was turned off by their apparently complete disinterest in sustainability / organic food: (1) there is no information about sustainable options or practices on the website, (2) there are often few to no organic options, and (3) they don't offer glass bottles as an option and responded with a patronizing email when I contacted them to ask why. My overall take is that this is a business that is benefiting from everyone's nostalgia about milk delivery, without joining the 21st century in terms of trying to be sustainable, etc. ... Which is too bad, because I'd much rather go with a local company than with Amazon Fresh -- but only if they're going to be meaningfully different in terms of sustainability. I really don't want to give this company a bad review, the products are great and our milkman is the best, but their customer service and billing department SUCK BIG TIME! We've been on autopay for months, and they've switched something in their backoffice billing so that they can not get it right. They send a bill, we call and remind them we have autopay, they confirm it, then they send another bill....it goes on and on. And where is their back-office now anyway? Did they outsource? I had been stopped multiple times by them at my local farmers market, and since first time you get a $10 credit thought lets give them a try. If don't like can always cancel and we lost nothing. Their selection is kind of overwhelming having way more then just milk. All my friends are amazed when I tell them everything I can order. You can order everything from dairy items, eggs, baked goods, to premade meals. I mainly do this for milk, as having a toddler, running to the store every time she is out of milk is a hassle, love knowing it will be there every week. The ordering system online is very easy to use, just have to make sure always have something in your cart. You can change your standing order too. The prices are higher then the store, but for convenience I am fine paying the bit extra. Never had any problem with the milk man or customer service but I have never needed to talk to them about anything. I like that they support local companies, but wish they had more organic items to choose from. read more

I will never make any orders from Smith Brother's Farm again! The milk was good but no where near good enough for the price. The buttermilk was amazing and the other products I tried were pretty good but still majorly overpriced. My main reason for my low review besides being expensive is the customer service. The customer service is ridiculous. Here is what happened to me: I canceled all our orders in May because we were doing the Whole 30 challenge. Toward the end of May we decided we liked the lifestyle and went ahead with canceling our delivery for good. Then sure enough a charge of $14 was made to our account for Memorial Day. I called to ask what that was for and the guy said we received an order that day. I told him that was impossible and that I canceled all of May's orders and then canceled it all together. I asked if when they picked up our box if there was milk in it and he said the box was empty. I proceeded to tell him that we didn't get the milk and if the milk wasn't there when they picked the box up then there was no milk to begin with. He argued with me and told me that someone in my family must've gotten it. I'm pretty sure I would notice my 10 month old bring in the milk! My husband has never touched the box and I would notice if some milk magically appeared in my fridge (Whole 30 remember). He continued to argue with me saying I was wrong. I informed him I would never do business with this company again and I'm sticking to my guns. read more

Not sure I'd go back to store bought. Their milk is so sweet and real tasting and they have a good variety of local products on their website. Bagels from Tukwila, Coffee roasted on Vashon Island, yogurt made in Auburn, eggs from Yelm, and of course milk from the Auburn Valley. I love the delivery and I love supporting local businesses and local jobs. Their prices are about what you'd find in the stores, and delivery is so convenient. Changing your order is super easy on line and I don't mind popping on line mid week to adjust my order depending on what I need or don't need. My little kids look forward to seeing the milk truck on Friday morning and helping bring in the items (hey, it's the little things that make a 4 year olds world turn lol) and I love how fresh everything is. I'm a fan for sure. UPDATE: After moving across Puget Sound to Port Orchard I was thrilled to discover that I could still receive delivery albeit with a small ten cent per item increase to cover additional travel. I LOVE having fresh milk delivered to my door and not ever having to think about if I need milk or running close to running out. I like the variety of changing up my order online and have never really had a problem with customer service or billing. I think it is a great service and enjoy the products. Love the little 1/2 pints of chocolate milk for my son, just the right amount for him and I don't end up drinking it all myself when there is a 1/2 gallon of delicious chocolate milk in the fridge. I do not think there has ever been a missed order, I was completely surprised when a delivery showed up on a holiday, way beyond the call of duty but very much appreciated. I discovered this company while trick-or-treating... strange but true. Apparently everyone in Dupont loves this company. On almost every doorstep was this white box with the logo on it. I went home and looked it up immediately. I couldn't believe that it was for milk delivery. I signed up and have been happy ever since. Every Friday morning my milk is on the doorstep. I've never met the milk person since he apparently comes sometime between 3:00-4:00am but thats okay. I leave a note on my box if I need additional things like butter, yogurt, eggs, etc. the night before and everything is there when I get up. Smith Brothers has been delivering to me weekly for three years and I'm very happy with it. I'm a one-person home so my delivery is small and often I skip weeks in order to keep dairy from taking over my fridge. Both skipping and changing my order through the website works great, and there's no penalty. I'm occasionally home when the milkman comes and from my kitchen I can see him waving at my silly barking dog through the window, which makes me smile. Remember that huge snow storm a few years ago? Where EVERYTHING stopped for days? Well, the milk man didn't stop. I couldn't get my car down my street if I wanted to, garbage trucks didn't even bother to try, but the milk man delivered! It was awesome. I love having milk delivered. It's one less heavy bag to carry home from the grocery store. If there's a week that I can't make it to the store, I can order bread, yogurt, butter, etc. One of my favorite products is the Simply juice brand and when they run the occasional special on it, it's cheaper than I've ever seen it in a store. I have been using Smith Brothers for almost 2 years now and have been extremely happy with my service. The product quality is great. I always knew that I needed to spend a minimum of $10 a week to not pay a service charge and honestly with 2 kids it's not hard to do. But the service charge is so minimal that I would pay it if I didn't need to order as much stuff. We travel a bit from time to time and have never had an issue suspending service for the weeks we are gone and I am able to do it all online. I had an issue once or twice with the wrong milk coming but customer service was very nice and it was fixed right away. I recommend this service to all of my friends who don't already use them. You have to order the pizza bagels at least once as I swear it's the best bagel I have ever had. It needs to be toasted with copious amounts of butter... you will not be disappointed. read more

I've been using Smith Bros for over a year now and I don't have a single complaint. They've recently switched from paper order forms and payment to all online, which is super convenient. They have a great selection of dairy products along with other staples like eggs, coffee, and bagels. Everything is fresh, local, and reasonably priced. I've noticed it is slightly more expensive than my local Safeway, but the convenience of having it delivered to my door vs dragging three kids to the store is worth the slight uptick in price. I'm stunned to read the horrible reviews regarding customer service. We have had the opposite experience with Smith Brothers. We get deliveries of the butter, whole milk, half & half (we cannot live without) and almond milk. The prices are not much more than the store prices especially when you factor in that it is Grade A and delivered to your door. My son has a dairy allergy and refuses to drink any alternative milk up until now. He LOVES the almond milk and is always telling people about his special milk. We have had to go a day or two without the half & half and buy it from the store and there is a noticeable difference in taste. So far, we have had a wonderful all around experience and I encourage others to give them a try. read more
