I was pulling a fifth wheel and my truck started to over heating going up grade I pulled over call Smiths Diesel talked to Carlyle I told him what was going we were about 10miles from town he said they close at 5:30 but they would wait for me I was able to limp it into town drop the fifth wheel off at the RV park about a mile from the shop got it into the shop they had 3 mechanics jump on it trying to element quick fix's water pump thermostat fan etc this was Friday night they are closed on sat and sun so we waited until Monday morning blow head gasket and a couple other things I am sure they put me ahead of other trucks they got on it right away trying to get me back on the road Carlyle would txt me keeping me updated I thought that was awesome they had me back on the road Thursday morning they upgraded something replaced my def tank also it was even cheaper then they quoted me which I was thankful for everybody there was professional knowledgeable polite guys I really appreciate all they did for us they were awesome read more

I made an appointment on 8/18/25 For 8/27/25 at 8:00 am. Matt said to bring it in by 8:00 so they could diagnose the problem and that he would let me know by noon. I called at 11:30 to check since I hadn't heard from Matt to see if they had found anything, the guy I talked to said they were still working on it and said he would have Matt call me. I stopped by the shop at 1:00 to talk to Matt and my truck was still parked where I left it at 8:00 am. I talked with Matt and he said he was going in to find out when they would start on it and then he would call and let me know. Smith Diesel is an extremely well-run, thorough, and tidy diesel shop. I had the unfortunate event of towing through mountain passes with a 15k 5th wheel in my 2012 F-250 6.7 and (I thought) partially blowing my turbo. Upon limping to our campsite in Capitol Reef, and the local shop basically telling me to get lost, I phoned Smith Diesel. I walked them through what happened and my thoughts. It was Monday morning, my family was with me, and they said it would take all week to fix. Other shops didn't even return my call. I dropped it off at 11 AM on Monday. There were ~20 diesel trucks in the parking lot. All of their tickets were neatly lined up on the counter. The waiting room was absolutely spotless. The parking lot and landscaping - tidy. There is a lot of pride in ownership with this business. I love to see it. I received a call before 2 PM that day. The turbo was fine but my exhaust manifolds were leaking and the studs were shot (known issue with this year). While it was more expensive than a new turbo, the work would be quicker. Instead of Friday, it would be ready Wednesday. This was a huge save because we were running out of things to do in Capitol Reef with 2 little kids. Low and behold, I get a call at 4:30 PM on Tuesday and they tell me I'm ready to go (a day early!). We happened to be in Zion (with a rental) so we were able to grab it on the way back. They also mentioned they found a small leak in one of my fuel lines so they replaced that, too. In the following 48 hours, we made it all the way back to Austin. We never had a single issue. I'm incredibly thankful for the professionalism, speed, efficiency, and empathy the Smith Diesel Team showed. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

Took my 03 6.0 F-250 to diagnose an oil leak Service writer Matt said the engine needed to be pulled for bedplate reseal along with rocker boxes and oil pan. Specifically said that the rocker boxes were the major source of the leak. $9,600 estimate. I declined of course. When I picked up the truck the write-up indicated that the front cover was the major source of the leak, not the rocker boxes. The front cover gasket is on a few hour job nowhere near $9,600. I replaced the front cover gasket and the leak is fixed. It did not need the recommended $9,600 work. Buyer beware. read more

After our 6.6 Duramax on our 2009 GMC pickup threw a code for low rail pressure for the 3rd time in two days and after changing the fuel filter each time and still going into limp mode we realized it was not bad fuel (pickup was pulling 5th wheel). Smith's was recommended so we called on a Thursday afternoon, they said to bring it right over. We found an RV park to drop the camper and got the pickup to them that afternoon. They looked at it right away even though their lot was full. And then had us come back Friday morning so they could finish running codes. Turns out the fuel injectors were shot. Fortunately they had a full set in stock . I still can't believe they finished up by the end of the work day on Friday and we were back on the road first thing Saturday morning. Kyle, Skyler and Joe were unbelievably knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt. They definitely check all the boxes. I still can't say enough about how amazing we were treated. Was on vacation and they fixed radiator and was happy then few days later my 06 powerstroke was running hot. Took it back in to another great shop in vegas and they said wire for fan clutch was ripped from fan and did someone recently work on it. Smith diesel when putting in radiator bumped wire or didnt put wire 100 percent secure because days later wired got chopped into fan. Smith diesel said they secured it but how then did it get chopped up in fan blade. That means it wasnt all the way secure. I called to see if they can help out with money towards new fan clutch but insult just offered $100. New world we live in. read more

Living in Vegas is hard to find a good & honest repair shop when it comes to owning a 2006 5.9 Cummins. My baby wasn't feeling right at idle & my 48re tranny finally gave out on me. I decided to be patient & had my AAA auto club tow it to the professionals in Cedar City based on their reputation. I'm so happy that I made that decision. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Go to a diesel shop in St. George or rolling rubber here in cedar and save yourself tons of money and time. I Had my truck in there for a few simple fixes. Had an oil leak on my HPOP and a parking brake that needed a new cable and my fuel psi was dropping when I was low on diesel fuel. They would tell me a date to bring it in and I'd get a ride so I could drop it off and they would tell me I can't bring it in today because they don't have room or time. (I set up a date with them over a month before.) okay same thing happened the next time. And the next time. I should have known then to go somewhere else. After I got it in And had them work on it I had to bring it back in multiple times because it never stopped leaking oil from the HPOP (literally pouring out oil), the brake still isn't holding the truck in place, and my PSI was now maxed out at 120 PSI! They told me they don't know how to work on fuel regulators so they don't know how to fix the PSI and make it go back down to a normal range. And told me I needed to figure it out on my own. After they messed it up. They left rags and starting fluid in my engine bay. Oil was EVERYWHERE all over the motor. The last time I brought it in they stripped a bolt on my HPOP (that I just payed 900$ to have done) and they told me it needs to be towed and said they aren't going to fix it and I could "find another shop your keys will be in it and it I'll be out front." I couldn't believe how disrespectful Kyle is. I've never been treated worse by a company in my entire life. I drive my truck into the shop and have to tow it home because it's completely un drivable. WHAT!?? The Parking brake still doesn't work. Psi is still maxed. I paid over 2k to have more issues then I originally had.. Makes me so frustrated they don't have any competition in cedar so they think they can treat people like crap and get away with anything and they will still get business I can't believe it I truly can't. !!DONT GO TO SMITH DIESEL!! read more

This place is clean and professional. The lounge has AC, free bags of chips and packages of M&M's and other chocolates for their guests. The interior reminds of a new auto dealer waiting area. I made an emergency stop here to have my Sprinter serviced. The check engine light came on and the van was loosing acceleration power. I could only top off at 65 mph. Feeling uncomfortable to continue driving 7.5 hours to get home I decided to get the van checked out. After a little waiting they found the problem was the fuel filter being clogged. On September 10th me and my wife were headed home when the truck lost power around 10:00AM, I had it towed in and the tow truck driver recommended Smith Diesel, so we went there and they found out the high pressure oil pump went out.
