I briefly started getting my hair cut by a curly girl specialist but I always came back to David for the shape. I have been seeing David for over 10 years. I met him when my hair was down to my waist. He carried me through the emotional roller coaster of a pixie cut and back to a perfect curly bob. He can literally do anything and do it well. I always find myself enjoying the music and I appreciate the quality products he both sells and uses. I appreciate his work so much that he now cuts everyone's hair in my family! I have also found David to be a genuinely fabulous human. I enjoy his company during my cuts and always appreciate how easy it is to talk to him. I feel like he would actually be a great guy to hang out with and mountain bike. I appreciate his passion, strong work ethic, and personality. David truly has it all!!

I did not want to leave this review, but after paying $700 and leaving with severely damaged hair,…read moreI feel obligated to warn others about my experience. I went to this salon because a stylist I had been seeing for over a year moved here. She had been maintaining my cherry cola color for about a year, and when she moved to The Boulevard, I told her I wanted to start the process of going back to my natural level 6 brown. I understood that removing red is a process and specifically told her I was completely fine doing it over multiple appointments. I also asked if we could keep the first appointment within a certain timeframe because I had dinner plans, and she agreed. My appointment was scheduled for noon. When I arrived, I sat alone for 30 minutes without being greeted, consulted, or acknowledged by anyone before my stylist finally came over. The appointment ultimately lasted 7 hours, and I had bleach on my hair for approximately 3 hours. When I left, my hair was severely damaged. In fact, my stylist knew it didn't look right because as I was leaving, she told me to "wear a ponytail to dinner." That is not something you say to a client who just spent hundreds of dollars and received a successful service. I have since shown photos from that appointment to other licensed cosmetologists, and multiple have told me the damage was evident as soon as the foils came out. I have always taken excellent care of my hair, use professional products, and have never experienced damage like this. My hair is now rough, difficult to manage, and completely different from how it felt before. I can't run my fingers through it, my natural texture is gone, and it is genuinely unrecognizable to me. I was so upset that I spent the entire weekend crying and had to miss work on Monday. When I called the salon Monday morning, I was told the owner would contact me. I never received a call. When I called back two hours later, the owner suddenly answered. She offered a free treatment if I came in immediately, but the first thing she said to me in person was, "It's not that bad." After spending two days devastated over the condition of my hair, that was incredibly dismissive and upsetting to hear. The owner then told me that the original stylist would perform my next treatment and that I could pay for a new color service. I explained that after what happened, I believed I deserved both a refund and a corrective color service. The stylist refused a refund, and offered the color service for free. I agreed to this, and then stylist put red back on my hair, leaving me looking almost exactly as I did before I started this process, except now my hair is badly damaged and I am out $700. I came to this salon because I trusted my stylist and trusted the salon to guide me through this process responsibly. Instead, I have walked out feeling worse every single time. The most disappointing part is that the owner never apologized, never took accountability, and never made a meaningful attempt to make this right. I wish I had never come here. I am now left paying for the damage done to my hair, and multiple people who have seen the condition of it have told me I should pursue legal action because of how severe the damage is.

I wanted a refreshed new look, and Dominic Michael gave me exactly that and more. Booking my appointment online was super easy. They had lots of time slots to choose from. I showed up to my appointment, checked in at the counter, and not long after, Gena gave me a warm greeting. The inside of the salon is super clean and welcoming. I appreciated how the floors were constantly getting swept throughout the time I was there. I'm indecisive about most things, including my hair, but Gena was very patient with me and helped me narrow down what I want. We decided to do highlights and a haircut. I have very long hair, and I have a lot of it. Gena blew me away by her thoroughness and precision. It's clear she's an expert at what she does! She applied a gloss to my hair, then Keaton took over and finished washing my hair. She was so friendly and sweet! Then, I headed over to Olivia for my haircut and blow dry. Once again, very friendly and sweet! When I was almost finished with my haircut, I thought it was so kind how Gena came back over to see me and make sure I liked my hair. She made me feel so special! I'd been looking for a new salon for awhile now, and I'm so excited that I found this place! Can't wait for my next visit!

I saw a new hair stylist today and she took out all my extensions and come to find out- Nicole had cut the end of two of my extensions (i have 6 in a row) making them not reusable bc of how bad the hair was falling off. Knowing how much I paid for the extensions I couldn't understand why she would do this. It ruined my extensions that I paid SO much for and were in great condition before I saw her. Needless to say I will not be back.

Rather than fix it in the salon, she told me to wet and scrunch them at home. They did not improve. When I had dinner with my grandpa the next day and he saw how awful my extensions looked said my hair looked like a "mop." Everyone who saw my hair was appalled at how awful they looked. After sending photos, neither the stylist nor the owner could acknowledge the obvious problem. The owner admitted the curl pattern wasn't an exact match but offered only a perm + reinstall, no refund. I was never shown the extensions before they were ordered, and Michelle the stylist told me that she had the "perfect extensions" to match my curl pattern. On top of the wrong curl pattern, the extensions were installed too heavily for my fine hair, leaving my scalp red, irritated, and scratched by sharp adhesive edges of the k tips . Given the damage, I declined further work and still received no refund for either the hair or the installation. No one at Kink Hair salon took accountability. If you have 4A curls or tighter, please save yourself some money and go to a curly extension specialist. I ended up buying 4A clip in curly extensions myself and they look like a perfect match, proving there's no excuse for licensed cosmetologists to not be able to find the proper curl patterned hair for my extensions.

One of my sisters was getting married and the hair stylist working her hair did an amazing job. Her hair looked better than her original hair trial! Her hair was perfectly curled and the accessories the bride brought were added exactly as she wanted. Her hair lasted the entire wedding perfectly! The stylist who did my hair was perfect for me! She was so friendly and a little chatty which I loved! I had asked for a sleek bridesmaid bun. She took my requests (straight instead of curled, simple and smooth but cute, etc) very well. It was everything I had expected perfectly executed. Amazing customer service as well. The issue where I could not give 5 stars is for my other sister's hair. She was the other bridesmaid and her hair was supposed to be a simple bridesmaid bun with some curls. The stylist (I believe named Alexis) was 15mins late and did a horrible job with her hair. It was loose, messy, and did not look professional. Lots of flyaways - like she didn't use any hairspray or something. Her curls fell flat right away when we got into the car. Picture of her finished hair is attached. I'm not sure what happened- it looked like she just gave up and tried to wrap the last piece of hair around the bun without securing it. We are so disappointed with her experience. To top it off, the stylist was not even friendly. She seemed upset to be working at all. No customer service from her. Unfortunately we were on a timed schedule that we couldn't get it redone.
