I have 3 favorite MaMa is great with pedicures and the woman a little younger is great with nails and youngest is great with brows and lashes. Besides that the prices are great as well. They are very patient and so nice. I have a hard time deciding colors so they will paint a finger to see which one I liked more. I would just make sure you are 100% certain the product you purchase in store is what you want. I purchased an item in store and where I live we only have the "free standing store" and they will not allow you to make returns. Called customer service like suggested and was told there is nothing they can do to help me. So I'm stuck with the product. OK, assuming you're picking up what I'm putting down; Sephora is the place to go for all your cosmetic needs. They offer a humongous selection of nail color, lipsticks, eye shadows, foundations, lotion, fragrances, makeup remover, top of the line skin care products, accessories, hair care items and much more. Mirrors, vanities, makeup applicators and remover are located throughout the store for those who like to play in makeup before they buy. If there is something you're not quite sure about ask for a sample and they'll gladly accommodate your request if at all possible. If there is something you like but they are fresh out of; simply order from the store and they'll ship it directly to your door free of charge. If you're a regular; sign up for the rewards card. I always leave this store so frustrated. Im trying to find the right foundation. The last time I went in, the lady seemed so annoyed, put a little swatch on my neck and walked away. Shockingly it was not the right color and I ended up returning it today. It was like a chore to help me. Today I walk in and ask for help. The girl was nice, matched me and brought a couple things over. I didn't like them. Instead of helping me find something I did like, she was just like "sorry, hope you find something." Maybe I've been out of customer service for too long, but wouldn't you think you'd help your customer find something they were happy with and make sure they don't leave empty handed? Reviewing Sephora... even though I don't wear make up. Sue me. My honey-do errand list occasionally will require me to stop in for a visit, which is what happened yesterday. If Julia needs something that she didn't give me enough notice to buy on Amazon, then this is my spot. It more than gets the job done! I find the folks who work here to be really kind and helpful. Typically when I walk in they ask me if I'm looking for a gift for someone, which makes me laugh, but is true! I often take photos of her blush, eye brow pencil, concealer, etc... unless I am 100% positive that I know what it is. Then when the employees greet me, I just ask them for help finding XYZ... Their reaction is always, "Oh, easy peasy! It that it?" The other thing I noticed, they have tons of fragrances for anyone. I guess some people may expect that, but their selection was pretty good. The only downside was that store already smells so fragrant, I felt like couldn't get a great idea of what certain ones smelled like. Still cool that they have so many options, tho! I went into this store and was immediately offered a greeting and assistance. Score. I then made an appointment for a custom makeover with Jasmine. I was impressed to say the least. She taught me how to amp up a smoky eye and blend contouring powders. While I'm aware there are YouTube videos on the matter, I much prefer the in person experience. The store was well organized again, and this time the service I experienced was great. The makeover I received lasted about 45 mins, and required a $50 purchase( free mini makeovers are also offered) I'm so pleased with the skill/ advice. I'd do it again. I left feeling really pretty. It's easy to spend a lot of money here and walk out with a teeny tiny bag. It's overpriced. You can get a lot of the same products at Ulta or Beauty Brands. I'm not sure if it costs any less, but those places have coupons and I've not seen one for Sephora. Nor does Sephora have a sale area that I've noticed. The salespeople are real artists who take their time to gather different products and try them on you. Definitely join the rewards program. It'll take you years (I hope) to spend the $500 for your big reward, but it's free. read more

This place is so dangerous for me. I walk in, there's always good music blasting that makes me want to dance my way through aisles and aisles of every beauty product known to man. I also like ordering online because you get three free samples with every order (though sometimes the sample choices are pretty meh). They also offer classes here for those who are learning or those who need a refresher. They have rows of trial size products that you have to walk through to check out, and I should complain about that blatant consumer manipulation, but to be honest, I love it. They also have a rewards program where you get a pretty decent sized free item after spending $100. That along with their free three samples is a pretty good deal (plus you get a birthday gift annually). The only things I don't like: 1) I feel like a leper if I go in this place barefaced. Some of the employees give off a judgey vibe. Others are very helpful. 2) They are always out of way too many products. Who orders for this store? Order more, silly pants! I was unable to get a moisturizer I wanted last time I went because they were out, and I had to settle for Clinique, like an animal. Still. This is where my money goes to die. I love it. read more

I'm a sephora vs ulta kinda girl for a few reasons... Although it's nice that ulta carries drugstore as well as similar high end products to sephora, some of my favorite brands can only be found at sephora (sure you can find in dept stores, but ain't nobody got time for that!). Brands like KVD, Nars, cover fx and hourglass are housed in this mini beauty warehouse. What I really enjoy about sephora (v. Ulta) is their customer service. I can walk into an ulta store, pass 5 different employees w/o once being helped. & when you do track them down, the ladies are usually huddled together, chatting like some middle schoolers. Sephora on the other hand, you're immediately greeted, the employees are constantly walking around asking if you need help, giving you a shopping basket if you're w/o. They get it & they're knowledgeable about the products. Hell, even if they're not, they fake it til they make it. Although I do more of my sephora shopping online, I do like to pop into this store to get color matches (skin IQ rocks), swatch new makeup I've been eyeing, & just peruse. A girl can never have enough makeup & sephora helps w/ that fix. read more

I generally like coming to Sephora shop and this was my first time getting my makeup done here. I had an appointment at 3:30 for a 45 minute custom makeover. My artist wasn't ready when I got there so I sat there for 10 minutes waiting. I overheard them say they were on break which was irritating since I had an appointment but they sent over someone else to do skincare prior to my makeover. My artist arrived but took another 10 minutes or so going around the store picking out my colors. It got to be 4:30 and I wasn't even done yet and had a baby at home to get to the babysitter before getting to a wedding so I had to end my makeover before he was done since it was getting so far past my scheduled end time. I had planned on having a little bit of time to shop my look before I left but ended up having to book it out of there. I was happy with my look but wish they would respect their appointment times a little better for busy people! read more

Sephora is one of my faves as well - the only reason I don't give it five stars is because I don't always have the focus or willpower I need to get through the store without spending waaaay more than I should! Even for someone like me, who buys makeup and it lasts for years, I still like playing in here. And they have a great selection of skincare products, even stuff like powder sunscreen for your face and several different kinds of oil free moisturizer. Although I haven't done this in awhile, I like to stop by here on Friday or Saturday afternoons before I have somewhere I need to be. I'll buy a mascara or eyeliner and let Chris (the guy who Sarah F mentioned in her review) do my makeup. As long as he gets the commission on the sale, it's not necessary to tip him. But if you are getting your makeup done and don't plan on purchasing any product, I'm pretty sure you need to tip them at least $5 or $10. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here! I need to stop in here to get some makeup soon, but am afraid I'll end up spending my entire paycheck on beauty products. There should be a service for people like me - like a buddy who holds on to your list and slaps your hand when you pick up something that's not on the list. Any takers on that job? I came in asking about some nice red lipstick to wear out every once in a while. The woman.--I forgot her name but it may have been similar to "Susan"--I spoke with asked me, "Let me just ask one question first. Are you ready for lipstick?" (I'm 23) and then told me straight up I have splotchy skin and that I should buy their 57 dollar foundation because otherwise I won't look good in lipstick. Ahem. GIRL, what did you just say? I am a Sephora fan. I LOVE Sephora as a store/brand. I just do not like this particular Sephora location. They have poor customer service. One thing that attracted me to the Sephora stores years ago when I started using Sephora was the customer service. Someone was always eager to help and excited to show me new products. It was a great business tactic on their part because I may have gone in for mascara but I'd end up leaving with 4 things! And I loved it because I love makeup! Since I moved to St. Louis and began coming to this Sephora location, I just haven't had that same positive experience. They still have the product I want, so I shop here regularly, but their employees (and therefore, probably management) stinks! Instead of being welcomed into the store, their employees can be found chatting amongst themselves. I have to interrupt them when I have a question. They are not usually eager to help me try on new products and find things that fit me. During my most recent experience the employee had no knowledge of the products I was asking about and barely helped me at all. Each of the samples was worn down or dried out and I kept mentioning to this employee that this was the case. She just offered a "yeah" but didn't do anything to get a fresh product sample. When I went to check out they were out of the 500 point rewards and had nothing to replace them. Honestly, what used to be my favorite store is now losing its appeal to me. I feel like going to department stores instead of Sephora for my makeup. read more

Huh...the dynamic duo had a killer time at this Sephora location, so not sure what the crying is about! And frankly, it has an even more diverse team than the SF Bay Area locations we go to. Love that the male staffers are having fun with the makeup as well and know their brands. We already had specific items in mind (eyebrow kits, lip stain remover, masks, nail care, makeup tools). At least 4 different people guided us to what we were searching for throughout our visit. Several even mentioned similar products that might be better matches. We actually camped out in front of the Sephora tools area to finally have the chance to see our Loved Items up close (try the Sephora Eyebrow Kit too -- have tried kits from just about every brand out there and this is the most compact yet with decent tools to boot but for nearly half the price as the next brand). For the folks seeking sales deals, log into the app or simply ask...Mom replaced some old favorites and daughter found some sensitive skin masks. read more

I wish I could give it 6 stars.....that is how much I adore Sephora. They have EVERYTHING you can think of when it comes to cosmetics, skin care, etc...! Lots of make-up tools too. And all of my favorite make-up brands like Urban Decay, Too Faced, Tarina Tarantino, tokidoki, Benefit, Smashbox, etc.! I always go in there thinking I will buy 1 thing and then I come out with a bag full of loot. If you shop there at least once a month, get their Beauty Insider card. It's FREE and for every so many $ you spend, you get beauty points. When you hit 100 beauty points you get 1 free trial sized sample of a popular product. When you hit 500 beauty points, you get a FULL sized product free. (Or a baggie of multiple trial sized products that still contain enough product to last quite a while!) Seriously....most of my $ goes to Sephora, lol. But I am also a make-up junkie. This place sucks! The whole store is in disarray, samples are missing or are old and dried out, and the staff has zero product knowledge. I went in looking for a simple limp stain and two associates pinted me to matte lipsticks and lip glosses - exactly the opposite of what I was looking for. When I asked an associate to do a Color IQ match for a foundation, she started arguing with me and kept insisting that she can just bring samples of the makeup I was looking for. Seriously!? I'm not sure if she just didn't know how to use the device or she had zero listening skills but it was just a complete mess. Sooooo, I heard about Sephora just before I graduated from college, working as an Editorial Assistant in my alma mater's communications department. My boss and I had similar - generally oily/combination skin. After discussing our skin/make-up-that-melts-off-our-skin 'issues' ~ she told me about Sephora, and explained why she was such a fan and loyal customer or theirs. As a fairly broke college student at the time, I stayed away from the store - thinking I likely could not afford their products. WRONG assumption! I should've high-tailed it there as they not only carry EVERYTHING, for EVERY skin type (hair products, bath products, products for MEN, you NAME it) ~ they have such incredible bargains AND a rewards program (FREE) like NO other merchandiser I have ever encountered. I recently spent UNDER $60.00 for an online purchase - received three FREE samples (these come with EVERY online order) which really are THE way to go for us ladies in 'trying out new products' - without PAYING for them first. I received ANOTHER free product by entering a promotion code upon check-out, and out of the THREE purchases I made, TWO were markedly clearanced. I have tried ALL the products (about 7 or so) in just two days (I get really excited about trying this FREE new stuff!) and the stuff is just GOOD. REALLY good - all of it. They are lasting, quality products that "do what they say they do," are often made with all natural products and NO animal testing crap! Typically the products are packaged in eco-frienly packaging, with portions of purchass often going to charitable causes, and for TWO extra dollars at checkout, you can get a truly lovely and USEful sachet bag - OR - a VERY sturdy gift box that not only LOOKS cool, it has magnets that keep it closed - offering functionality, practicality, and FUN - while making it easy to open/close - regularly - for all the AMAZING products ~ you just bought ~ from Sephora! read more

It doesn't get any better than Sephora for your cosmetic shopping needs, IMO. I bought some Smashbox eyeshadow a few weeks ago. A small crack formed, and within a few days the pressed powder had lost it's shape and was completely loose. I went into the store today without a receipt (I shred them pretty quickly) and only my Beauty Insider card. They processed the return/exchange within a few minutes and I was out the door with a replacement. Great customer service! read more

I have received terrible service both times that I've been here - the staff at this location doesn't know anything about their own products, or where anything is. When you ask questions, they gesture in a direction and say that it "should be in that area". They are also rather rude - just their tone in general. As opposed to trying to help ensure that you spend money in their store, and have the urge to return, they act like it doesn't matter, because at the end of the day they get their paycheck. I'm not sure why everyone here has such a bad attitude... definitely need some corporate management to step in and administer some training. I won't be returning. read more

I came back to this Sephora location this afternoon because I happen to be at the mall and I have been thinking about getting a different eyeliner. I have very oily skin around my forehead but the most annoying area would have to be my eyelids. I have been reading some articles about how to prevent the eyeliner transfer to my lids (which actually looks horrendous) and have been using a primer by Urban Decay which came highly recommended. Somehow, my oily lids are still winning the war and I resort to reading more articles. I saw that someone had recommended powder eyeliner. I have been experimenting with them but with not so great brands so finally, since Sephora was right there, I decided to check out Laura Mercier's tight line eyeliner. At first, I walked around to check out their products and then asked an associate to help me. I told her my issues and of course, she told me about the primers, etc and asked me if I wanted to try a different primer. I told her I think mine is fine right now but that I wanted to try a certain product. She applied it on me and was helpful with the whole process. She even suggested some tips that might help with my issues. I loved how the eyeliner looked and made the purchase. How it will hold up to my oily lids, I have yet to find out. Surprise! When I was at the counter checking out, I was asked to choose between 2 birthday gifts since it is my birthday month and I am a Beauty Insider. That was a nice treat. Now, not only do I have a new eyeliner to try but also a couple of NARS lip pencils! I am giving this place a bump up to 4 star for a better experience this time around. read more

I was greeted when I walked in and politely asked if I needed help finding anything later by another sales associate. I really appreciate how the people who work there are not pushy. Another review mentioned they don't make commission on sales which I think just makes sense. I like how they'll honestly give you their opinion on products either because its a top seller or they use it personally. This is always more important to me than a sales person just pushing their most expensive product. Anyway. I found what I was looking for for my sisters. Mission accomplished. Even with the holiday madness, they had enough people on the registers. There was also a "mobile checkout" for shoppers paying by card only. Great idea to keep the lines down. Even though I do not shop as much as I use to when I worked at this mall, the employees that have been there for a while still remember me by name and make it a point to speak and welcome me back which I appreciate. As a person who has worked customer service and currently hospitality management, something as small as remembering a person's name or some personal detail is quite impressionable and impactful. I don't require assistance that often but when I do MOST of the employees are helpful and knowledgeable. Very rarely do I come here and am not able to get what I'm looking for due to unavailable stock. This location will always be my go to as it has been for for years. read more

I love Sephora, and this location is no exception. After having been to this location several times, I have no complaints about the samples laid out. Some of the items tend to be a bit disorganized or missing, out of stock, etc. but if you ask a someone to help you look for something, they're always willing to do their best. The service is great--workers here have offered me samples, checked in with me, offered to check the back for stock, offered to orders things online for me, offered to give me a mini makeover, etc. all without asking. They've all been patient with me, never short even when they are busier. The workers aren't the most knowledgeable about products, however. They can point you in a good direction, but if you start getting more specific, they're recommendations tend to fall a little short. All in all, it's always a good experience and would definitely recommend. read more

I had an exceptional customer service moment the other day at Sephora. I visited after deciding that it was time to try some new products and makeup. I was in a rut with my usual stuff, so to speak, and Sephora consistently has a great selection of these types of things. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the man who helped me, but he did a great job of recommending some things, and giving me a make-over to try them on. (and I didn't walk out of there looking like I was an extra in an eighties flick, like some of the makeup artist do to you) I'll have to take off one star because of their uncanny ability to leave me $300.00 poorer than when I walked in. Damn their marketing skills! Haha... no, really. They've got some dangerous merchandising set-ups. I give the location one star for the assistance you get from the employees. My main issue is that their brushes look extremely dirty, and I am grossed out after they put them on my face. Unfortunately, I rely on their help when it comes to picking a shade, and not all brushes are available at self-serve. I wish I could do it all myself. I moved here from another city and there, going to Sephora was generally a pleasant experience. Normally I don't review simple everyday stores where people know what to expect to some extent. But the lady who helped me pick out a tinted moisturizer yesterday should not go unrecognized. While attempting to pick out the best shade for me Sarah quickly swiped some nude color on my cheek and readily noted that that was the shade for me and I shouldn't go one shade darker because "it would look like I punched you in the face." Sephora is one of my favorites. If you're unfamiliar with Sephora, they offer a wide range of brands and products. I personally prefer this location to the West County one (I think it's bigger). Sephora is great for trying out new products - ask for samples of a product if you're not sure how it'll work for you! Returns/exchanges are really easy, whether you purchase in-store or online. The employees are really helpful with finding the right product for your needs. Even though this one is more convenient for me to go to I will make the trip to West County just to avoid the horrible customer service of this one. You are not a priority in being helped in their store, instead they stand around and talk to each other. If you are lucky enough to be helped they seldom actually know where products are that your looking for and they aren't willing to help you try out or find new products. Sephora is one of my favorite stores conceptually, but I've had hit or mess service at many of the locations and tonight was just bad: the woman barely said anything when I needed to exchange something, never addressed me at all at any point during the sale, asked "is that it?" When I handed her one of my items, and never offered me a gift even though I have over 800 pts. It was so awkward that at the end I had to say "are we finished?" When I asked if I could get a gift receipt she said "it's too late." It just sucked. I'm buying makeup at a rather expensive store. Make it fun or at least pleasant. Sephora clearly doesn't value customer service as a company culture value because I've encountered this many times over the years. It's a shame because it's one of the few women-centric places.
