This is ridiculous once again no shopping carts. This is the 3rd time. Very inconvenient.
    Vicky B.

Although I love the friendly team members at Smith's the last 2 times I have gone shopping they have had absolutely ZERO shopping carts available once you enter the store, not sure if they just don't have the staff to go retrieve them from the parking lot corrals but it definitely makes shopping difficult when you have to go wander back outside just to find a shopping cart to use, if it wasn't for the rewards points I would definitely just get back in my car and go to one of the other stores in the valleys. Now as far as their products the produce is always great and the deli counter always has fresh food. The clerks are very friendly. They just need to work on having the shopping carts available for the customers upon entering the store.

So I had a pretty horrible experience, but as you can see, I gave them five stars for the way they handled it! As of late, I've been using the shop for me button on the app. I've been pretty happy with the service, I put everything into the cart, pick a time to retrieve my groceries and when I arrive, they bring them out to the car and the service is free if I spend a certain amount. This is my sixth time using this service and I was extremely happy. Today, I ordered about $50 worth of groceries and picked a pick up time at 5 PM. I arrived at 5:35 PM and use the app to notify them. I was there. Came out and told us that they were having an issue and running. It would be another 30 to 45 minutes.... At rush hour, I did not want to go home so I decided to wait. at 6 PM my son went in and complained. Manager explained that they had a new system that was difficult to use and apologized. She gave a $15 store gift card for our inconvenience. About 6:20 PM the order came out to the car and we went home. I saw in the shopping bags was actually pretty abysmal. Most of the vegetables were horrible quality or even damaged. You can look at the pictures. I immediately got in the car and brought the food back to Smith's. the manager acknowledged that quite a few items were poor quality. The roast was probably 50% fat, the squash was obviously frozen, thawed, refrozen as it was squishy and bruised. The manager let me pick out some replacement items, and the produce department was obviously waiting for a new shipment as not only were shelves half empty, but the vegetables on the shelves were really poor quality. The manager popped up with another $15 gift card, and said that I would have to go online to request a refund. The items I could replace, she put in a bag and told me not to worry about. I went through the app and requested a refund for seven items and there was absolutely no issue whatsoever. The automated system even credited five dollars to my account for the inconvenience. I've been shopping at Smith for over 20 years, and they've always had amazing customer service and pretty much no questions Asked refund policy. There's a reason this is my grocery store. Not as well staffed as some of the other grocery stores, but the prices are absolutely meant for people on a budget. Also, it's nice to have a rapport with your baker, butcher, and management. I guess the only thing I could add, is when you do a pick up order, check the quality of items and refused them if they're not up to snuff .

So.....CarbMaster milk has been very hard to get lately and Smith's has the Darigold Fit milk that I used to purchase at Walmart in Idaho. Since cutting out hidden sugar, as much as possible, I have felt better. As usual, staff is very friendly and Jose always brings groceries to the car for me if I'm not going inside. Parking lot and store are always clean.

So i like to stop at the Smith's gas station because it is convenient cheap and straight to the point of filling up. This review is on the gas station portion. Love the snacks that are easily accessible and the staff is always friendly and always have the place clean.

I go to the Lemmon Valley Smiths almost daily. They have great digital coupon deals and they just recently remodeled. There is a Starbucks inside now! This Smiths use to have the best deals, but the prices have slightly gone up after the remodel. It is very clean and modern looking now, but that is definitely reflected in the prices. I still shop here for most of my grocery needs since they are still cheaper than Raleys and have decent meat and produce. They are still a good one stop shop! I like to get the 2 piece chicken meal deal from the hot bar. You get to choose from fried breasts, thighs, drumsticks, or chicken tenders. You also get your choice of 2 non protein sides. The meal was $4.99 a year ago, and now it is $7. Still a good deal especially with all of the different sides you get to choose from.

I thought it was a pretty good shopping experience. It may have helped that it was 9am on a Monday morning, but it was well stocked and people were mindful and polite of the social distancing requests. Once, an employee even got on the PA and reminded everyone of the social distancing expectations including leaving and entering the correct doors. I was able to find almost everything on my list. The store employees I spoke with were pleasant. The store was organized and clean. Once again, it probably helped it was early in the day, but good grade for my first full shopping trip here.

This is what was ordered and charged for.

Anna assists me almost every time I visit, and she is a absolute joy. She always has a genuine smile on her face and possesses the best attitude. Honestly, it's some of the best customer service I've ever experienced anywhere. She consistently turns a routine grocery trip into a great day. Unfortunately, my experience at the deli counter recently was the exact opposite. I went to order a sandwich and, as a first-timer, didn't realize there was a paper form I needed to fill out first. I stood waiting for assistance, and a staff member named Teri walked up, mumbled something, and immediately started to walk away. Because I couldn't hear her, I politely asked her to repeat herself. Teri responded with an incredibly dismissive attitude, acting as though asking for clarification was a major inconvenience. She then repeated, "You need to fill out the paper," speaking very condescendingly, as if I were unable to understand basic instructions. Even after I explained that I had never ordered a sandwich here before and simply didn't know the process, her attitude remained hostile. It was an incredibly uncomfortable and off-putting interaction. If it weren't for Anna completely turning my mood around at checkout per usual, I would have walked out incredibly frustrated. Management has a real gem in Anna, but they desperately need to address the customer service standards and basic courtesy at the deli counter.

Located directly off of S. Virginia St and adjacent to S. Meadows Pkwy in the southern part of Reno, this is one of three locations in the Reno metropolitan area (with the other two stores in north Reno and Sparks). The parking lot is actually quite spacious with ample room to get in and out to the main road. During my visit which was on Friday 7/3/2026 at around 1:30pm, it was fairly busy but the store itself had a great open layout. Those of you that don't know this about WinCo Foods is that they are a private employee-owned company. Prices are probably the best you will find anywhere other than Costco but here you won't get the massive crowds that Costco experiences on any given day. Keep in mind that WinCo only accepts cash, debit cards, and Apple Pay/Google Pay as they do not take credit cards of any kind. Also, you must bag your own groceries but this is their trademark to all of their locations in the western United States. I do want to add that since this is the state of Nevada, this WinCo actually has a small dedicated area (towards the front) where slot machines are available. This is great for those that want to avoid the hustle and bustle of going to an actual casino. In addition to that, they also have an area where alcohol is sold, a customer service area (where you can buy cigarettes, money orders, money transfers, payroll check cashing, and much more). Public restrooms are also available towards the front area of the supermarket. As for the store itself, much of the produce (fruit/veggies) was very fresh and well stocked. They also carry a huge assortment of bulk foods (nuts, rice, pasta, flour, candy, etc.). an amazing variety of meat & poultry, a dedicated bakery and deli section, and just about everything else you can think of. I find their selection to be much better than other big box grocery stores as this place always carries what I am looking for. Best of all, they are open 24 hours. When I made all my purchases, I went to the self check-out aisle (as they accept cash, debit, or tap-to-pay). The whole process was seamless and easy. All in all, the south Reno "WinCo Foods" gets a respectable four-star rating.

In the 20+ years that I've been a Winco customer, I've always been treated well which is a phenomenal track record that some jerk has ruined. Why Linda, why? She was covering the service desk and I came in to return a defective item. As I approached the desk, she was looking me up and down with a very strange expression. So because of this, I wasn't affable but I definitely wasn't rude. I cut to the chase of why I was there. She treated me VERY badly which I ignored for the most part, stating that in all of the years that I've shopped at Winco I've never been treated so poorly. She responded by saying that I was the problem and invited me to call the corporate office! Then she said aggressively, "I've had three horrible customers in one day!" repeating it a few times. I asked to speak to a manager and she quipped that he was busy and he couldn't get away so I asked someone else to page him for me and she interfered with that page, telling them to cancel it. This is a brand new store and everyone else is amazing which is what I'm used to. I wrote this shortly after the store first opened and haven't had an unpleasant experience since and I shop here weekly. I also have not seen Linda. It's a great store with great employees and low prices. I'll keep buying whatever they have that I need from Winco. This store is my first go to store.
