First I must say I was very last minute (3days before the event) Smitty and his wife were great! They came out on a Sunday afternoon. His Communication was good, he gave me quotes and allowed me change meat options. Best part is when he got there he knew my dad and half of my friends and family (from Richmond, CA) which made me feel even better about going with his catering service. I was happy that he was able to catch up on some nice memories with them, I'm am also glad we could support a GOOD hometown business. And he was kind enough to gift my boyfriend, unexpected and highly appreciated. THANK YOU Now about the food, we had links, brisket and chicken it was all very tasty, and smelled amazing. This is a long overdue review for Chef Smitty and his team. Honestly, I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I have attended several events and Chef Smitty's catering crew and fantastic food has been on site for most of them. This team can cook it all - from classic BBQ, Italian lasagna/pasta, Soul Food shrimp n grits, or elevated risotto and chicken sous vide. Yummiest food and kindest, professional service ever that I have used for holiday catering at my office! By far! And now I hope to use them personally. Renee and LaRone are so helpful when we had restrictions and also gave them context about our holiday luncheon needs. LaRone is very responsive, helpful, and the drop off for our buffet was seamless and on time. The food tastes amazing! Fresh, not greasy, beautiful fresh veggies and high-quality meats. Major comfort food but with real flavor. We fed 100+ people buffet style: rolls, salad, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, tri tip, chicken marsala, eggplant rotelli. Everyone loved all of it. Crispy mac n cheese and the flavor is outstanding. They provided plates, napkins, silverware, serving utensils and set the food up on the tables we set up in our office. Smitty's BBQ was catering a party next to our small family gathering a couple weeks ago. I forgot plates for our picnic and was in a desperate way. I did the walk of shame and asked the owner if he had a couple plates to spare. I can't directly comment on the food, but I can emphatically comment on the people the own this catering business. There was no judgement only kindness. The gave me plates and forks to take back to my family. I have a job that can be a downer at times, meeting the owner of this catering business and his crew gave me hope for society. Good people still exist and kindness matters. If I need a caterer in the future, I will definitely hire Smitty's Best BBQ. read more

Just finished some of their Mac n cheese! So good! I think I can honestly say, the first time I've ever liked anyone's Mac n cheese this much. (My mom, Gram & self's excluded) What a wonderful, delicious, thoughtful spread they put out today. Simply put, scrumptious! Their mixed vegetables were cooked & seasoned to perfection. Smoked chicken thighs were really tasty (& cleaned well) ;) This catering staff was pleasant, happy, organized, professional & aimed to please. If I ever need a caterer, I will call this company first. And I will definitely recommend them to folks. I'm picky, so it was a wonderful surprise to enjoy all their dishes so much. From the moment we reached out to owner Larone Smith, the Smitty's Best BBQ team was incredibly responsive and attentive to our needs. They provided valuable suggestions on the menu, which included an impressive selection of BBQ favorites--think tender pork ribs, juicy brisket, huge tender beef ribs and perfectly grilled chicken. Freshly prepared sides, including the corn salad that was freshly prepared with Fresh (!) corn on the cob. It was incredible! Slightly spicy and perfectly tender green beans and more. add Hot links if you like.. those are perfectly Texas Hot! On the day of the event, the setup was seamless. The staff arrived on time, set everything up beautifully, and made sure the food was kept at the perfect temperature. Their professionalism and friendly demeanor added to the festive atmosphere of our 90-person Alumni picnic. One of the highlights was definitely the sides! The green salad, Corn salad, spicy Jambalaya, the best adult Mac & Cheese were perfect complements to the BBQ. Not to mention, the homemade BBQ sauces offered a delightful range of flavors--from tangy to smoky--that catered to every palate. In addition to the delicious food, Smitty's Best BBQ family run organization provided excellent service throughout the event. They checked in regularly to ensure everything was running smoothly and even helped with clean-up afterwards. Overall, I highly recommend Smitty's Best BBQ for any catering needs. I had Smitty cater our wedding and he went above and beyond! The food was so delicious, with the Mac and cheese being everyone's favorite! Chef Smitty was extremely helpful in designing a menu that was perfect for our son's birthday event. We knew we wanted the Ribs and Brisket. In addition we ordered the mouth watering Mac and Cheese along with the tasty Baked Beans. The final piece of their preparation were the Collard Greens, delicious. We used Smitty's Catering for our company picnic over the weekend and we couldn't have been happier. We had Macaroni and Cheese, Texas Style Brisket, Smoked Chicken, Broccolini with Parmesan, Carrie's Summer Salad and Mini Apple Pie's for desert. Everything was fabulous, especially the Brisket and Summer Salad. Our employees were raving about the food and some of them can be hard to please. The portions were plentiful and we were lucky enough to have some leftovers to take home and enjoy it again. Chef Smitty and his wife Rene were very professional and a joy to work with.
