My husband has been a loyal customer for years, and we have always trusted Strickland for oil changes. However, after our most recent visit, we noticed a burnt oil smell, which we reported to your team. Initially, we were told that any spillage would dissipate, but the smell only persisted and became more noticeable when mixed with the antifreeze scent. It wasn't until we saw oil spots on our driveway and my husband inspected the undercarriage that we realized there was oil leaking everywhere. We took the car to Hibdon Tires Plus for an assessment, and they confirmed that the oil filter had been over-torqued during the last service, causing it to break and leak. Hibdon advised that we speak with Strickland to address the issue, but when we did, the response was utterly dismissive. Your staff suggested that unless I was physically present, we could not prove the issue, which felt both unprofessional and insulting. When my husband explained the problem, your team claimed the leak was due to both over-torquing and the weather, despite Hibdon stating that weather was not a factor. Strickland then attempted to blame Hibdon for this incorrect information, but we were clear that it was your team who over-torqued the filter. Ultimately, Strickland refused to take responsibility for the mistake and tried to deflect any accountability, offering no solution to the problem. This has now resulted in significant repair costs--well over $1,000. Your lack of professionalism and unwillingness to make things right is incredibly disappointing. I am particularly upset with your team's refusal to own up to the error, especially given our history as dedicated customers. It is clear that your company values neither customer service nor accountability. Was told that they tightened it the best they could and to call customer service number so they could fix it. We do that and the customer rep is horrible and kept trying to get me to call the valvoline that did it last. He said he was escalating the case to urgent and that someone would call me to get it fixed so we could drive it home as we're traveling and 400 miles from home. No one from valvoline ever called me again. About an hour later we go to get something to eat, came back out after 30 mins and there's a dinner plate sized puddle of oil under the car. So I knew we couldn't drive it back home Found a mechanic on our own who got us in and all they had to do was insert a new drain plug and it tightened up fine. I showed up 5 hrs before closing for a new tire. They called me 5 mins before closing to pick it up. On my way home, the tire light comes on while i am on the highway. I took it to Firestone that same day. They tested all the wheels. Then test drove it. The light went off on the test drive. It was bc my tires were overfilled. Firestone said they might have been trying to calc how much air the tire needed w fancy math instead of a pressure sensor. So dumb. Called Car experts, explained the situation and asked if they may have put on the wrong brake components and if they have had any similar instances to which they did not seem the least bit concerned stating "your car only has one option (for brakes)"....we don't do calipers. I took it for a road trip and the ride is god-awful and this affects the whole driving experience ....not how it was when I brought it in and not how it felt from the factory. I thought you get what you pay for but with Car Experts you pay more for less. Wish I would have just gone to a dealership, could have saved money and probably got better parts and service.
