My brother-in- law is a regular. He always orders their prime rib. They know his table and let's just say I was the proud beneficiary. I don't play around with my love of steak. The pictures below were some of the items my table ordered. Why don't you see a picture of my steak? It was devoured. Partake in their specials! The bone in New York cut topped with a blue cheese crumble was savory. Ordered it medium well but it's a steak house so they made it more on medium side. Excellent. Asparagus and a baked potato had me sleeping well. First, appetizers were shared among my small group. The iron skillet corn bread with honey and butter will have you think your visiting grandma's. The crispy calamari, shrimp with an aioli and marina sauce were a perfect pair. Then, cheese burrata , toast drizzled with a olive oil had us reviving our engines alright. We didn't stop there, the waiter and service staff are so attentive and family oriented, he made sure the old fashioned were served with an abundance of cherries. Our party was a hungry bunch. We snatched up their ahi tuna tartare with wonton appetizer even after the round of food I mentioned above. Dessert? Creme brûlée time topped with smidge of raspberry sauce and a plump raspberry. Only came here for drinks and to watch the NBA semi-finals game. The crowd is a bit older and this place felt kinda fancy. But the drinks are good and the place is pretty chill. I had this cocktail called "The Cool Down," which was vodka, St. Germaine's, watermelon and lemon juice. It was refreshing and delicious. The bartender was really friendly and nice. read more

Staffing - Friendly & Attentive to customer needs/satisfaction. Parking - They have a valet service, but opted to park in a nearby parking garage, within walking distance. Return - Yes definately. We have been going to Smitty's Grill for well over a decade. We understand the Pandemic and all that it entails; however that said, the quality of the food has diminished and it has been for quite some time. Our servers are great and that has been the only reason we return. This last meal was, unfortunately, not good. It was overcooked, ausednd my friend's meal was also a bit overcooked. The manager came over to apologize, which we appreciated. And that was it. Nothing more. Hmmm... I used to work in the restaurant business. Your goal is to have your regulars come back. I'm just sayin'. We regretfully will not be coming back to Smitty's. And the back is hideous, the Tent area. It's dirty. The plastic tarp is filthy. It's gross. The carpets need to be vacuumed (and we are there around 5:30 pm and it is already dirty). It was nicer when they didn't have the tarps up on the side. What is the purpose of that if it's supposed to be outside? Isn't that what outside heaters are for? We are in the month of July! read more

A bit of a hiccup with my reservation. I called in to make a same-day reservation with a lady who answered the phone but when my party arrived, the reservation was nowhere to be found. Luckily they accommodated our party of 8 right away and we got the back patio all to ourselves which was fantastic. Right away we got our drink orders taken and got chips which was an AWESOME touch. Instead of just bread, they have in-house baked chips that were incredible! We ordered the roasted artichoke and calamari appetizers - both of which were very good. Everyone was extremely pleased with their entree choices and drinks were great. My glass of wine had a nice pour ;) Dessert: creme brulee, choc cake, cheesecake...all of them were decadent and absolutely delicious. Customer service was top notch. I have been to Smitty's many times in the past but never really took the time to write a review and my past visit ten days ago reminded me to write one. The place hasn't changed at all in the past few years which is a good thing if you're looking for consistency. The ambiance is comfortable and can get a little loud during rush hours. Service is always good and servers are attentive, be sure to make reservations ahead of time especially on Fridays, otherwise you'll be waiting a white to get a table. During my last visit at lunch time, I tried their Cuban sandwich with fries and it was just OK. I probably wouldn't order it again only because I've had better dishes here and I don't believe this particular sandwich is their specialty. I will probably come back and update this review sometime in the future, depending on my experience at that time. read more

Tender and plump chunks of lobster, soft roll and that lemon aioli makes it all I've had their catch of the day which was barramundi. Really really good. Well cooked, flaky and not dried out. This is my favorite bar and grill. The food is consistently excellent. Service is professional and attentive. The ambiance is welcoming and the vibe is very friendly. Love sitting at the bar with my favorite rye whiskey old fashioned with home made potato chips or amazing onion rings. The bbq beef ribs are on the special email, and I love them. Came here for birthday dinner late one evening and had a fabulous experience. The service was impeccable. All the staff was polite, helpful and personable. The food was excellent. We ordered: buttermilk fried chicken with two cute little cornbread muffins and honey butter - great crispy but light batter crust. The cornbread was good. I might have even ordered more if we sat a little longer. Smitty's Famous Meatloaf - a nice slab of meatloaf and gravy always hits the comfort spot. The Grill Cheeseburger - good burger cook medium perfectly. Shoestring french fries we crispy and plentiful. They had a salmon special, I don't remember what it was called. It was a wee bit over cooked for my liking but the flavors were good. We also ordered a side of creamed spinach. It was pretty hearty. I personally would have liked it a little more "creamed". Since I booked on Open Table and let them know we were celebrating a birthday, they had a birthday card waiting for us at the table and a small ice cream sundae at the end of the meal for the birthday girl. read more

Had a very nice work dinner here with a preset menu selection due to the number of people we had in our party. Complementary potato chips were SO GOOD. I went with a warming, delicious shrimp chowder (I'm kind of a chowder connoissiour) for an appetizer and a steak for the main course (the other choice was salmon). The steak was juicy and sumptuous but nothing less expected from the price. It came with mashed potatoes and a couple of cauliflower. Pretty simple, pretty good, but nothing really special. The most notable event of the evening was the dessert section which they offered amazing bread pudding and cake. After that, 3 birthdays were celebrated (mine included) and we got a HUGE ice cream-topped brownie and a candle to wish on. Always delicious, gracious and attentive service, well-made libations from the bar (my personal favorite is the lemon drop martini). I also love their fish dishes especially the sand dabs! Only shortcoming is their desserts....i don't know if they are made in house or imported but they just taste old and of the inside of the refrigerator. With such a wonderful fresh menu, their desserts are the last impression of the meal and leaves a poor impression when things taste old. read more

Attended a birthday celebration for a dear friend Friday November 18, asked for patio table,, which we got, nice, nothing special served was quick to take drink order, and gave specials and took starter order, drinks arrived super fast and were perfect. Grilled artichokes and crab cakes were great. My three companions ordered the same entree and I ordered a different dish, the meatloaf they ordered looked very ordinary, nothing special. The cioppino looked great, tasted good.but again nothing special. We ordered 3 desserts, the crème brûlée, key lime pie and the ice cream sundae. All were good but nothing I'd have to go back for. Ranging from 3 to 4 stars depending on different times I've been. Parking can be a pain. They have valet in the back. Food is good, but a bit pricey. Service is usually good. They have a room in the back that can be reserved for a bigger, private party, as well as a patio in the back that can also be reserved. My family has utilized both for private events over the years and it's a great space for that. Food-wise I've tried and really enjoyed: * The cornbread - sooooooo good. My favorite restaurant corn bread. A little sweet, comes out in a skillet with crumbles on top. Yum! * Chicken pot pie * Steak chili - not your typical chili but delicious with big tender pieces of meat * Mac n cheese - nice and cheesy with ham in it Tonight I got the salmon special which came in a delicious, light buttery sauce and the salmon was cooked perfectly with mashed potatoes and well cooked and seasoned broccoli. Dessert wise, I've tried the key lime pie, which is good, but could be but more tart for my tastes (but I think most might disagree with me) and the chocolate mousse cake, which is rich, chocolatey goodness. They carry Fosselmans ice cream too! Yum! The main dining room gets really loud when it's full/busy, and service does seem to slow way down and become less attentive when they are busy. read more

This past week was my third time visiting Smittys and I was somewhat disappointed with my food and overall experience. We sat on the patio since we had our dog and although it was a cold night, the heat lamps kept us very comfortable. Our waiter seemed way too rehearsed and unnatural when describing the menu and going over the specials. She brought out the wrong appetizer as well. Appetizer 1- Crab cakes. Just ok, I like the aioli sauce it came with but overall very mediocre. Appetizer 2- Calamari. Possibly the most bland I've ever had. I added salt and lemon, and i dunked them in the sauces but still didn't enjoy it. Needless to say there was plenty to throw out. Entree- I had the burger with "rattlesnake" sauce and bacon with French fries. I had shared a cheeseburger with a friend here months ago and we enjoyed it, so I thought I'd be happy with this one as well. Unfortunately not the case. The "rattlesnake" sauce that I imagined to be peppery or spicy was actually just plain ol' bbq sauce that tasted as tho it came from a jar. The French fries were very good however. My fiancé had steak with mashed potatoes & creamed corn which he really enjoyed. I ordered a glass of Pinot noir which came in a very large glass and took forever to finish, that was nice. Dessert- apple bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. It was good, but nothing to rave about. I will not be rushing back to Smittys anytime soon. The food here is rather basic. read more

My son and I go to Smitty's every Saturday. The service is beyond excellent. They treat us like family. They great us as if they've been waiting all day to see us. The servers are amazing but I have to say our favorite is Jesus. Although he is not our server, he always comes to our table to greet us and asks is if we need anything. He comes over later to make sure we are happy. I was shocked that he is not a server. If I I want a restaurant, he would be the first person I would hire. I also must say that the food is superior. They are martinis are also the best of the best. We always ask bread, an appetizer, and one of their specials. My son loves the trout. We also enjoy sharing a dessert or just having a simple scoop of ice cream. Lastly, I love the environment. Upscale, yet casual. I strongly suggest everyone try them out. read more

Can't say anything about this place except that it seems like an average place at best. I was having business lunch with two of my colleagues. One of them, ordered the filet mignon burger on sandwich side. Prior to ordering his food, he was stating that he is hungry but when the food arrived, he barely ate 1/3 of his burger and my other colleague ordered Homemade Chicken Pot Pie: She only finished 1/5 from her plate. HOWEVER, I have to give their server, GUSTAVO, five stars. I hosted a small dinner party there to celebrate a friend's birthday -- it was her request to go there. There were only six of us but six big personalities. It was hard to get everyone's attention or a word in edgewise. GUSTAVO was simply superb. He maintained his sense of humor, was appropriately attentive without intruding, he was efficient, and professional. He's the kind of server you wish you had every time you dine out.
