I thought I would encounter a more "refined" place where everyone had their pinky in the air because of how everyone raved about Alex and his freaking cheesecake. Gracious! I completely understand now. I mean, I get it. Lol So after the meeting, this roughly drawn menu reeled me in because it had CHAI TEA. That's my jam. Once I had a sip of my delicious hot Chai tea with almond milk, I KNEW everything else was probably tasty, so I (in a reserved way) ordered an apple muffin. The muffin smelled divine, so I inquired (because I HAD to lol) about the best-selling cheesecakes. The cashier smiled at me and directed me to the Bourbon Pecan and the White Chocolate Raspberry flavored cheesecakes. They were $6 per slice, and I couldn't decide, so I had her pack both. I had a long day planned, so I had to take the slices home and refrigerate them. I almost forgot about them until around 10:30 when I had a sweet craving, and...have mercy! BOTH cheesecakes were velvety smooth, flavorful, and decadent. The Bourbon Pecan was heavenly. I could definitely taste its unique flavor pairings, and it had enough pecans. I also loved the buttery crust. The White Chocolate Raspberry was rich and creamy, with the tang of the raspberry exactly where and when you need it in every bite. I had to take bites out of each, you know, to treat them fairly. Lol Although I paid dearly for eating too much dairy, it was worth the experience. Sometimes, you just have to eat the lactose pill and jump in! I'm so glad I did. Now you know that Cheesecakes by Alex is Kiesha Speech approved. Hands down, they are bringing more than flavor. I got my favorite pastry- an apple fritter and some cake donuts. They did not disappoint. They were the perfect balance of soft and sweet without being too cakey or too sugary. It's a small yogurt shop that's inside of the Family Fitness Gym, you don't have to be a gym member to git on some of this awesome yogurt, the gym and the yogurt shop are owned and ran by same folks. I say small because they just have 3 tables if you want to go inside and have your yogurt, but not many do, they have a drive-thru which is where most of the fro-yo action is taking place, it's very convenient to drive up to the window, get your yogurt and roll on. They always have 6 flavors on tap. Chocolate, Vanilla & Tuxedo Twist (choc/van swirl) which are always available and 3 flavors that change weekly. My personal favorites are Keylime, Cherry Cheesecake & Peach, but there are many more that rotate around. You can get your yogurt in a regular cone, waffle cone (which they make), or in a cup (small, medium, large). They do offer a handful of toppings like that candied walnut stuff, chopped peanuts, m&m's, crushed Heath Bars and a few others. Toppings are $.65 for one scoop or $1.20 for two scoops. They also make hot fudge sundaes and banana splits using their yogurt. Right now with the major road construction project being done on Freeway Dr, their main entrance is closed, you must turn on Front St. beside the Freeway Mart gas station & use their rear entrance.
