Our to-go lunches came out in about 8 mins, hot, ready and plentiful. I don't understand how other reviewers found the meats to be dry. I tried the brisket, pulled pork, roasted chicken and hot link and all were savory, moist and seasoned well. The pulled pork was the only good meat, It was lots of tiny pieces, I had never seen pulled pork like this before but it was lean and tasty. The BBQ sauce sat on the table all the containers were sticky and a mess so besides looking at a plate of really fatty BBQ and messing BBQ containers we lost our appetite. We were kind of scared last week Wednesday when we 1st walked end wasn't for sure, but today the reception that we got and the quality of the food is on point. We're from the midwest, and Smoakie's Kitchen has found the way to bridge that gap. I guarantee you that this was some of the best barbecue we've had since been in Arizona over 6 years since living here. The menu is mostly typical offerings like pulled pork, brisket, hot links and ribs but one protein stood out and I probably should have tried it. Lamb. I like lamb but I have never seen it on a bbq menu so a return trip is definitely in order. The restaurant is pretty simple and I was greeted right away upon entering. Much to my surprise I was offered a lunch special on Sunday. Sandwich, side and drink for $11.99. So I ordered one with pulled pork, macaroni and cheese and an additional hot link. I could hear the chop, chop as my sandwich was being prepared and I was quickly presented with my lunch. A butter top bun with a nice pile of pork was on the plate, real Mac and cheese (you can see actual melted cheese, not the goo from the box) and my hot link. In addition to the food were sauces on the table, hot bbq, mild bbq and hot sauce. The pulled pork was great and had plenty of bark chopped in and wasn't wet or greasy and The sauces paired with it nicely. The hot link lived up to its name and was pretty spicy and delicious. One thing I noticed though was the color of the qhe sausage. It did not look like it had spent any time in the smoker and was quite light in color.
