I found this smog station on Yelp and decided to give them a shot. Getting a smog check is like going to the dentist. Nobody wants to deal with a smog check. But, if you have to do it, you might as well have the least painful experience possible. I recommend smog check pros for a painless experience (no pun intended). I was in and out in 10 minutes and the smog tech was extremely polite and explained the results of the test in detail. I will definitely refer friends and family here. Don't forget to ask for the Yelp deal. read more

I was in need of a quick Smog check, and I've passed by this place a few times. It came to mind and out of curiosity I checked Yelp reviews to see what it was all about. Needless to say, the reviews are very accurate. I rolled into the Smog Station, and before I could even get my paperwork in order, he is already finishing up with a second vehicle ahead of me. Now it's my turn. I'm maybe about 5-10 minutes in when he's already telling me I've passed and I'm already good to go. Before I even realized what was going on, I'm already paying the reasonable $45 price and driving out of there. No long waits, no long inspections, no unreasonable prices. Just in and out straight to the point. I will be coming back here in the near future and onwards. Great place! read more

A friend recommended Smog Check Pros to me after three other places couldn't figure out how to get my older car to communicate with their computer. I drove over on a Saturday afternoon with no appointment -- luckily there was only one person ahead of me. Going to Joe's is a breeze. You get in and get out within 10 minutes without a wait. However there were 2 cars ahead so it was closer to 20-25 minutes total. Very simple process and he follows all Covid procedures which made me feel safe. Definitely recommend going here for your next Smog check. It's a flat fee of $40. In all this craziness of quarantine, my car registration is due and I need a smog check. I called in the morning and they are open and ready. I drove over at about 10 on a Saturday morning and it took 10 minutes. He was so nice and noticed my tire was low on air and fills it too. $45. For everything else in life being so stressful right now, this guy made this normally stressful situation painless and easy. read more

Just got my smog check done here yesterday. We called ahead and the man that helped us (assuming he was the owner) was very nice said we could come 30 mins before closing and he would take us, unfortunately I had a personal health issue that delayed us from getting there so we thought we would try anyway and if he wouldn't be able to take us we would just come back in the morning and we were so surprised that he took us! Quick, easy and $5-&10 less than most of the other places we looked up. Will definitely be back with our other cars and will highly recommend him to our friends! read more

Needed to get a star certified smog check. I drive by this place everyday and decided to stop by on my way home from work. No appointment and didn't wait more than 10 minutes. Took about 15 minutes to complete the smog test. Saro was very helpful, quick and friendly. Customer service overall was great. Why am i giving this shop 5 star is because, i came in a week ago and Saro checked my car which i had the engine check light on so he said that i have to fix that first which i did and came back today. I was out of there in less than 15 mins and only charged me $40 bucks. Not like MR SMOG AND REGISTRATION SERVICES, 2 years ago(2015) in Van Nuys, i went there and the charges were way out of line. I paid him for the registration of my car since he does the service but the fees he charges are ridiculous and also he charged me $10 fee for him to change my address to my latest address, come 2016, never got my Vehicle registration Renewal Notice, come to find out, by going to DMV, my old address was never changed. So actually, i was scammed by MR SMOG AND REGISTRATION SERVICES. read more

I originally went to another place first and the guy wanted to charge me $50 for a smog check, and he said that was after the "coupon deal" he was going to let me use. Ha! Came here around 10a on a Wednesday and only waited about 10 minutes until he was ready to test my car. There were couches in the waiting area so i sat and scrolled through Instagram for about 10 minutes and my car was done! I went in for transmission fluid change earlier in February in my Toyota Camry 2018. I bought OEM Toyota transmission fluid and asked Joe to help do drain and fill.The drain and fill was completed. After that there was a rough driving issues started. I went back to show my car to joe and he drove the car he told me he don't see any issues. I wanted him to check transmission fluid port on if there is low transmission fluid he didn't agree and told me I might be overthinking. I went to different mechanic in April and he checked. I paid $100 to reopen the port for transmission fluid and what we saw was no fluid came out from the primary port. He added 0.5 quarters left. The issues I have had for rough idle and need to have higher RPM on slope went away completely.According to him you have to keep the car running when you drain the fluid and you need to have it at the right temperature he said the drain and fill wasn't done correctly that's why there was still room for fluid. The viscosity of the fluid makes a difference in how much you can fill and drain. He double checked for leakage and there were no leaks either. When I went to joe and asked about don't you have to keep car warm to see if temperature is right? He said you only do it when there is a leak. I don't think Joe knew enough about mechanics of New car. I wasn't overthinking when I went to ask Joe for help and asked to recheck the transmission fluid. I paid $260 for labor only( $160 to Joe and $100 to another mechanic) for same job. It's really absurd. Overall this could have damaged my transmission. I think for future the customer advise should be taken seriously. I know my car well so I know when it's not acting good. I have been driving it from 10 years.

Getting a smog check is like going to the dentist, nobody wants to deal with a smog check inspection but you have to do it every 2 years. The good thing is, when you have to do it, you might as well have the least painful experience possible. Definitely go to Smog Check Pros. My car was tested in about 15 minutes and the tech was extremely polite and explained the results of the smog test in detail. I will definitely recommend my friends and family here to get their cars tested here. Oh yah, don't forget to mention yelp to get a discount. After getting my DMV renewal in the mail, i needed to get a smog check done. I looked up smog check locations in van nuys near my house and decided to give this place a shot. When I arrived there were no customers so the technician immedietly started my smog test. I had some questions along the way about the test and various CA requirements and the tech was very patient, knowlegeable and professional and answered all my questions. I checked in with yelp and receieved $10 off my total!! I will definetly be back in 2 years!! read more

After tirelessly searching for hours on end for a good smog check station, I found this spot called smog check pros which was right by my house. Its on Sherman way and Sepulveda (theres a statue of a giant Paul Bunyan looking man in front of the shop so it was real easy to find. As far as the test: only took 10 minutes. I was in and out before I could finish my coffee. Price was reasonable as well, they honored my smog check coupon. I will definitely be back and recommend all my friends. read more

This is hands down the best place in LA for smog check. The service is fast and there is a nice, comfortable waiting area in the garage. If you call ahead, they are happy to tell you how busy they are and if you should expect to wait. read more
