I was dreading getting my car smogged, because the check engine light had been going on and off. Hovik did a great job of explaining what was happening and my options if my car didn't pass. He wasn't pushy but helped me make a decision to test my car anyway. I passed but then...I forgot my wallet at home. Hovik was very gracious. "I trust you. I'll see you when you get back." He was waiting with a smile when I returned. Fast, polite service. The perfect smog check experience!

This is a good place to have your car smogged! John is a reliable and trustworthy man. My husband and I bring our cars here when it is car registration time and it needs to be STAR certified. Let's just say, I will be having all of my future smog certifications done at Quality Smog. I had the pleasure of working with Hovik who was extremely friendly, honest, and fair. He walked me through everything and had me in and out in about 10 minutes. As soon as I came in I was greeted and assisted! I called called earlier during the week and they answered all my questions and were very flexible with the time I could come in. They have free coffee while you wait for the smog test to be done. Their service was quick and efficient! I highly recommend this place. read more

I went to get my out of state plates changed here as well as get a smog test, and vin verification. They were so helpful. It was much faster than the DMV. They were very friendly and explained everything that I needed in order to do it. I will be going back to get smog tested here as well as getting my tags done again. I highly recommend this place. Very fast service and very helpful. I would recommend anyone to go here if you need your out of state plates changed to California plates. It's much better than the DMV. It was the best place I've been to get a smog check as well, just due to the customer service. I can't wait to go back. This place will continue to get my business! read more

Come here every other year to get my smog check and never left a comment. The staff is friendly and is straight forward. This year my car passed with no problems, but the year before I needed a gas cap for my car to pass. I will continue to bring my car each year a smog is needed. I have doubt where to go for smog check, some places try to cheat on you. But "Great" I found this place and just .02 mile away from my home. I checked yelp reviews before going to this place. To found out by myself I Walked in Check the place, really good environment. This Guy Named Hovik was very Kind, looks honest to me and I let him do the smog check to my BMW Z4. Was fast and at the same time I did the CA registration Tags for a small fee. Save me a lot of time and the price was right not expensive. Smog certificate not expensive too. Excellent service. I highly recommend this place. read more

Went in at about 4 PM for a smog check, it was done and certified in about 20 minutes. Not only that but the mechanic (think his name was Jovic) calmly walked me through the process since it was my first time getting smogged. And once it was certified, they provided me with updated registration and tags for an extra $38 (a small fee to pay for not having to go to the DMV or even use their website). All in all, I would highly recommend this spot for your smog check needs :) read more

A friend recommended this place to me so I decided to check it out due to me needing a smog check this year. I called to see if I could stop by the same day and it was no problem. He greeted me when I pulled up with my car. Friendly with great customer service! He explained what happens if I pass or fail and proceeded to do the smog check. He has coffee for his customers if you'd like to help yourself to some. It was super fast and easy!! I thought it would take up a lot of time but I was in and out in a flash. They also offer to do your registration for a small fee which is great and saves time. Better than waiting at any DMV! Will definitely be coming back when I need another smog check and recommending this place to anyone who asks. read more

Had to get a smog test for a car that I don't use often.. I looked up a nearby smog test shop and this place popped up. I'm always a bit hesitant going somewhere new and being a woman I always get charged more. To my surprise, the gentleman who helped me was honest and told me to park and he would assist me in a couple of minutes. Whole thing took about 20 minutes start to finish. Hands down The Best smog check spot in the valley, Along with the best pricing and customer Service. I was helped by Hovik today he was very professional ,extremely polite, very welcoming. I waited 5 minutes before he approached me (since he was with another customer) he took less then 20 minutes to finish everything. he even took the time to back up my car and that was super nice of him. I had a great experience at S&S Smog Check Star Test Only with Jack! As soon as I pulled in around…read more10 AM, a UPS truck arrived right before me for a smog check too, which told me this place is trusted by locals. Jack immediately greeted me, told me it would be about 15 minutes, and invited me to wait inside while I paid my DMV registration online. The office is currently being updated, but it was clean, smelled fresh, and had plenty of seating. By the time I finished my registration, my car was already being prepared for service. Jack has been in business since the 1980s and at this location for the last 10 years, and you can tell he knows his stuff. He was friendly, funny, and easy to talk to. Yelp sent my request to five smog shops, and Jack was the first to respond and had the best pricing. He even took the time to explain what a "Star certified smog" meant when another shop said they weren't. Quick, stress-free, and great customer service. If you need a smog check, it's definitely worth the drive to see Jack!

I went in for transmission fluid change earlier in February in my Toyota Camry 2018. I bought OEM Toyota transmission fluid and asked Joe to help do drain and fill.The drain and fill was completed. After that there was a rough driving issues started. I went back to show my car to joe and he drove the car he told me he don't see any issues. I wanted him to check transmission fluid port on if there is low transmission fluid he didn't agree and told me I might be overthinking. I went to different mechanic in April and he checked. I paid $100 to reopen the port for transmission fluid and what we saw was no fluid came out from the primary port. He added 0.5 quarters left. The issues I have had for rough idle and need to have higher RPM on slope went away completely.According to him you have to keep the car running when you drain the fluid and you need to have it at the right temperature he said the drain and fill wasn't done correctly that's why there was still room for fluid. The viscosity of the fluid makes a difference in how much you can fill and drain. He double checked for leakage and there were no leaks either. When I went to joe and asked about don't you have to keep car warm to see if temperature is right? He said you only do it when there is a leak. I don't think Joe knew enough about mechanics of New car. I wasn't overthinking when I went to ask Joe for help and asked to recheck the transmission fluid. I paid $260 for labor only( $160 to Joe and $100 to another mechanic) for same job. It's really absurd. Overall this could have damaged my transmission. I think for future the customer advise should be taken seriously. I know my car well so I know when it's not acting good. I have been driving it from 10 years.

I actually was in a very bad position in which I was referred to Alpha Omega Auto Electric. It was here that I met Hovik, who also works at Quality Smog. Hovik worked at Alpha Omega on my alternator with his father, Avo. I had exceptional service here by both of them. Hovik made a comment to me about my car and a smog test, in which I replied to him that my car would not pass a smog test. He told me he knew that because of the smell it was putting off. This amazed me. Hovik was very knowledgeable in regards to the alternator I was working with him on, but he obviously knows his stuff regarding smog checks, too! I definitely recommend going to Quality Smog and working with Hovik!! read more

I've been going here every year or two for at least the last 4 smog-check. The last DMV notice said that I had to use a Star inspection station, and sure enough these guys are. I have always been able to get my car inspected the same day I stop by. They are as good as it gets as far as service. I pay a little extra, and get my registration and sticker right then and there. I like going somewhere where I don't worry about them trying to sell me repairs. These guys have been honest, even friendly. I doubt anybody does this better. It's only smog, but it's important. Simply Awesome! This is the go to place for me for smog test. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable. They make the process simple and even give you advice about what to pay attention to for the next time. For example, last year I brought in a vehicle which had older vacuum lines. I replaced them before this year's smog and no problems. You don't want to fail a test and then fix stuff. Much appreciated :) read more

I have been bringing my cars to Quality Smog Star for years because they continue to provide quality, fair, efficient, and friendly services. Although there was a line, Hovik greeted us upon arrival and brought out some chairs while we waited.
