Well then he guided me and showed me all the websites that I can search and look for the headers that I had in my car and see if those are legal in CA, well after a few days I did my search and brought the part number of the headers and I was able to pass smog clean and he only charged me 65 or something pretty affordable. And he talked to me really good and gave me a lot of knowledge. Now a few months later I when back with another car. Pumm he started to check the codes and stuff like that and found out that I had like a few codes that the machine was not able to read because the battery had been disconnected before, he gave me a paper with instructions and like how long should I drive it, how to drive etc etc so all the sensor or like monitors would start ready, after I drove it for like an hour I came back and pumm the car did passed smog, we had another really great conversation he was giving me again more advices on what to do with my life etc etc. I less worlds I really recommend this smog shop and I hope he gets a lot of more clients, he already has me, I will try to refer him to my family members and friends. Great smog shop and great guy.

When I dropped off my car, I was told it would be ready around 12:30-1:00 p.m. and that I'd receive a call when it was done. I decided to stick around the area. At 1:00 p.m., after waiting two hours, I walked back to check on the status and found that they hadn't even started working on my car. When I told them I was leaving, the employee suddenly asked if I could wait another 10-15 minutes because he could "start it now". So frustrating. My scheduled appointment meant absolutely nothing until I complained and I was not interested in a rushed oil change... If your business can't honor appointment times, don't offer appointments. Respect your customers' time. I would not recommend taking your business here. I certainly won't be back.

They sure hustle! I was directed here from the Berkeley location (closed as of Sep 08 due to fire next door), and was greeted by someone who already expected my arrival. Fast, courteous service from beginning to end -- I will definitely be back when I'm due for a smog! I was in and out within 15 minutes, which felt like no time at all after helping myself to the complimentary snacks and thumbing through the numerous magazines in the waiting room. Ken, the smog tech on site, was kind, helpful, and patient while I shuffled through papers in my glovebox to find my registration. This guy was great. I had been scammed by a local smog shop on san pablo dam road across the street from Raileys earlier that day, so I know how easy they can take advantage of people. Smog Express Richmond was clean, polite, and helpful. They had snacks and beverages in there clean waiting area. Even with two cars ahead of me I was out with in 45 min, and was able to sell my audi wagon a half hour later with smog cert in hand. Thank You Smog Express! :) read more

I have been a loyal customer to 7 Days A Week Smog Test in Berkeley since I moved in to the area 3 years ago. I am sorry to hear that they are closed for renovation, but I find the exact same amenities I found at the other shop. What separates these guys from the rest are the fast, friendly service that I do not find elsewhere. The donuts and free internet also helps! After, they really took their time helping me renew my car registration - I needed to renew that same day - I was desperate. They have internet on site, and they guided me through the DMV online renewal steps, and I walked out of the shop resting assured that I am completely done with this stupid annual obligation. read more

I called at 8PM Saturday to their other shop, hoping to find out what the hours are, and somebody picked up the phone... he told me they are already closed for the day, he profusely apologized although it was not his fault, and for my troubles he gave me $20 coupon and not one, but two free retests. read more

The owners and staff are very friendly. They are true to their words and have given me the best deal and service for a smog check. As I mentioned in the Berkeley stopre's Yelp space, I was directed here by a very kind lady who gave me coupons, maps, and driving directions so I would not get lost. (The Berkeley store is closed for renovations). I am glad that this place, not only closer to my home in Pinole, has plenty of food, drinks, and even free internet just like the one in Berkeley. Smog took about 10-15 mins . No appointment , just showed up and I was in and out no problems . Robert was there by him self and it still didn't take long . I was very pleased with the service and professional attitude and care with smog . He also seem very knowledgeable when I asked him a few questions about smog . Very quick and the gentleman assisting me today was very kind and friendly. Affortable, star certified, smog! Checked in on Yelp and was offered a first time $20 off coupon. Been coming here for the past decade. They act on a first come first serve basis. Usually it's not crowded, so if you come at the right time it can take less than 10min but up to 15 (for the test itself). It's a fair price considering the certificate is included and you get a free re test. I will always be coming back here. read more
