I stopped by Smog Zone to get a smog check done on my 1998 jeep, mainly because of all the great ratings and reviews on this site. I read about other companies but I thought these guys were closer and they appear well qualified for the job. Long story short, the gentlemen who helped me was eating lunch but he stopped to assist me with my smog check and politely asked if it was okay for him to eat and work. That is the type of work ethic and professionalism I thought only existed on black and white movies. The work was top notch, the customer service was real classy and the pricing was not a maze to understand how and why I was charged. The fees were straight forward and they did not have a hidden agenda or hidden fees. Awesome experience! In the end, a smog is a smog, but what set Smog Zone head and shoulders above the rest is the service! The owner(?) was extremely polite and helpful, and gave me constant updates during the test itself. My wife pointed me to Smog Zone due to the yelp reviews, which I mentioned when he asked me how found out about Smog Zone. That was good enough for $10 off the posted price. But this place was just as great as everyone else who posted said it would be and I felt I should add my two cents. I sincerely agree that this is the best smog service around. The price was right and the service was excellent. BTW, the legendarily awesome owner other people wrote about was out at the time. I was helped by an employee named Brent who was personable, knowledgable and super-efficient. No mess, no fuss. I had originally considered calling ahead to make sure they could fit me in for a smog check, but time got away from me and I ended up just arriving at 1:30pm. I was immediately waited on, my car was looked over and passed inspection, and I was out the door in 15 minutes. Haik, the owner, is courteous, told me of on-line $10 coupon though there was confusion about "Free Retesting". I'd seen it referenced on line but he said it was a mistake and was supposed to have beentg removed. My car failed, then it was adjusted at my longtime mechanic's shop and passed at Haik's. This time the "Free retesting" was not to be found so I paid the second fee and was out the door. The seating area is comfortable, has tv, magazines and current to charge my iPhone.
