Haik is incredibly professional and honest. He helps make the painful and annoying process of getting a smog check simple and easy. I was in and out quickly and was glad I was referred to Haik/Smog Zone. I noticed a copycat shop is going up next store and the owner of that shop is going to discount his prices to capitalize on Smog zone's client base. I wouldn't support anyone who does that. I'll go back to smog zone anytime I need a smog check. read more

These guys are fast, efficient, and friendly. Pulled in on a Monday morning without an appointment and they were able to get me in and out in about 10 mins! They even honored the $15 off coupon with Yelp check-in and review. Located on Oxnard blvd. among the other car service places... 'just look for the brick building painted in blue, you can't miss it. Because I have an older car, my emissions check is more expensive than later model cars. I called around to a few smog stations and Smog Zones by far had the most reasonable price and on top of that, the owner gave me an additional discount. He has great customer service and he is very personable. I felt like I knew him right after meeting him. He made sure I had a clear understanding of what he was doing and the service was fast. I reccomend Smog Zone. read more

Haik - You are the man. Best smog check ever!!! There's even a place inside where you can sit down and read a magazine or be glued to your cell. I think I waited, at most,10 minutes. Then he backed out my car and practically valet'd it for me to drive easily away. read more

Just went to get my smog test at Smog Zone and noticed that they moved location - but luckily just across the street and a few doors down! New place is bigger, easier to park and get into. Haik is a great guy, hard working, honest - always happy to give him my business. I usually can get in and out of there quickly with my smog check and then on my way to work. Great service, friendly service. Haik also just got STAR certified which means this is a legit place to get your smog check as opposed to some of the shady places out there. read more

Such a great place! The guys there are beyond courteous and friendly. Haik really tried to squeeze me in and was super fast. I took my '95 Taurus to Smog Zone today after reading all the Yelp reviews. TOP QUALITY service, polite, friendly and fast. No waiting on a Friday morning, spotlessly clean workplace with plenty of chairs etc for waiting. Good location with parking spots in the yard outside the shop. My previous smog guys were fine: I re-located so this was an easier journey for me. Smog Zone was better in every way though!! I'll be back in two years........ read more

They also offered DMV services which was convenient for me and my husband . Full disclosure I intended to write this review whether my car passed or not . Those are the things the business cannot control. Just like any other business or service it may or may not go in your favor specially if necessary steps are not taken . I definitely will be coming back in the future and recommend this place to friends and family.

Getting your car smogged a pleasant experience? Actually yes! We just moved into the neighborhood and its always a hassle trying to wade through the incredible number of shady mechanics and car services until you find one you can trust. Usually along the way you find jerks, smooth talkers, idiots and sleaze balls. Lucky for me I found these guys through Yelp and was pleasantly surprised to find that all the great reviews were right on the mark. The gentleman working there was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and fast. Unlike some garages where you feel like getting a root canal might be more comfortable than being there, this place has a family run, neighborhood feel that makes you feel that you are in good hands. In fact, as I was talking to the guy, I found out that his dad actually runs a full garage right across the street. From now on, not only will I be getting any smog checks done here but I think I have found a garage for oil changes and any work I need done. Highly recommended! read more

I took my 2004 Honda civic there for a smog test on a Saturday, and was in and out in under half an hour. The owner, Haik, is extremely knowledgeable and has been in the business for over a decade. Very friendly, great service, and the price is great. You can plan your day knowing when you come to this operation, you won't be held up for hours waiting for your smog test to be done. Honest people in any business are hard to come by - but you can tell that the owners of this business are good people and are not trying to scam anyone. They got me in and out fast! I was looking on Yelp for a smog testing facility in my neighborhood, and found myself consistently put off by either the reviews or low ratings. I was thinking that I might have to settle for a less than pleasant experience when I finally came across Smog Zone. Like I said, they got me in and out fast. I was maybe there 10 minutes, and that includes the time I waited for them to finish checking a vehicle they had been testing when I arrived. They finished my test only a few minutes after I had filled out the paperwork. They were polite, quick and I plan to use them the next time I need a smog test. This is the place I go every time I need to get a smog test. The man who runs the business is so friendly and so nice, and so professional. And since the move (they used to be located across the street), it's actually even better, because there is much more room now, and it's easier to get in and out. There is now a small parking lot, so if you have to wait, it's no big deal. That being said, I've never had to wait. And if you call ahead, he'll let you know how busy he is, and when the best time to come in is. This is the sort of place that I prefer to give my business to, because it has that personal touch that I appreciate. One last thing: the chairs in the waiting area are really comfortable. read more

I have been going to Smog Zone for years now, and every time, it has been a great experience. This is my second review for these guys. I have been to other places in the past and these guys by far are the best. Haik and his staff have always been friendly, professional, efficient, and very informative. They have all the latest equipment and know what they are doing. I wouldn't want to go to anyone else. I needed a smog so i was calling around trying to find a good deal. All these places i called were giving me the run around and charging way too much. Then the places that had reasonable prices were charging hidden fees. I found smog zone on this site and called. The owner quoted me a reasonable price and promised no hidden fees or charges. I went and got my smog done there and he charged the price as quoted. He is very friendly, fast, and efficient. He even give helpfull tips on how to maintain your car. I highly recommend smog zone. Haik has been taking care of our old mitsubishi for years. He is so good with cars that he knows exactly what's wrong before we even take the test so we can fix it and not waste our money doing a smog test we might fail. He is always honest, forthright and looking out for your best interest. I live in Marina Del Rey and would rather drive all the way to see Haik than waste my $$ anywhere with people who aren't as thorough or caring. By the way... with Haik's expertise and knowledge we never fail a test. And our old jalopy keeps running. read more

These guys are as legit as it gets. I had 2 cars ahead of me and was in and out in 30 minutes. Great guy and very professional. The shop is clean and air conditioned on the inside. Parking was crowded and the owner Haik accomodated a space for me. I suggest anyone that needs to be in and out and on with thier day come to this shop! They also are DMV designated registrars so you can actually take care of the whole registration process at the shop and recieve your tags on the spot! Will def take advantage of this next time around! read more

I went to a different shop and they told me my vehicle needed a few hundred dollars in repair. So i had a second to look at it , the previous shop told that the timing was off, so i brought my car here and they took a look at the vehicle and it turns out there was nothing wrong with the car. they didn't just save me money they saved me the hassle of looking for another smog place in the future i couldn't be anymore pleased with the results. I went to Smog Zone today @ 14125 Oxnard Street in the city of Van Nuys. My first time being there and I have to say I am happy to have found a new smog place. In the past I have had bad customer service, long wait time or just lazy people to do my smog. Haik @ Smog zone was very friendly and seemed to know exactly what he was doing. Haik could not have been more professional. I called twice before going in and both times he answered with a friendly, warm greeting. Haik was prepared when I showed up and took my car immediately. Because my car is older, he requested that I give him a heads up before arriving so that he could set up the special equipment for its' testing. I was in and out in no time and even though my car passed, he took the time to explain the test results to me. What a guy. Oh, and the place was clean and comfortable. read more

Had to go to the DMV to get my car registered for CA (I just moved here) and found out that I needed a smog test. I located this place on yelp and decided to stop by since it wans't far from the DMV. All of the reviews were true. It took the young man 15 min (or less) to do the test and get me on my way. Cost was $50 and the most difficult part was actually finding the entrance (it is in the middle of a strip of shops). When I have to get the smog renewal, I will be going back here for sure. read more

It was finally time to smog my Lamborghini Murcielago, and with my busy schedule I needed it done promptly. When looking for a smog station, I wanted to avoid being overcharged just because my car is a Lamborghini and not a Honda. After all, a smog is a smog. The work is the same. I stumbled upon Smog Zone, and Haik quoted me a lot cheaper than other places, even for my Lamborghini. He did a quick job, took care in his work, and was very informative. Overall, very pleased. I have a tercel which needed to pass a smog first I took it to my Machanic he said everything was good in it so I went to different smog places telling me that some things need to be fix trying to get extra money off me when I knew everything was fine in my car so I went here 2 days ago this guys are trustworthy good customer service and fast I strongly recommend this place other places were lying to me, i didn't have any problems here and my car passed the smog thanks guys read more

Unfortunately I knew nothing of Smog Zone when I drove in. If I had, I would have been going to them for a long time. Haik impressed me immediately. He is pleasant and professional. He made every effort to get me through quickly even though he had three cars ahead of me. One hour later, my car was ready. The building is clean and bright, and unlike other smog stations I didn't feel weird being there. Smog Zone is now my only smog check station! read more

I always dread receiving the DMV renewal that says "Please take this notice to a SMOG check station"! So, naturally, I put off going to get my car tested until just a few days before my renewal is due... luckily these guys are super nice and super efficient. I was in and out of their shop in about 30 minutes, with no appointment, and with two people ahead of me when I first arrived! Would absolutely come back here the next time I need a smog test. read more

Had never been to Smog Zone before, but my first experience there was a great one! I was due for a Smog Check and Haik helped me immediately, took care of everything, processed my DMV registration renewal and gave me my sticker, and did all of it very safely (with a mask on and a plexiglass wall up at the payment desk). It was a smooth and easy process, and then I was on my way back home. Would definitely recommend, and will return again! read more

To customer who is looking for a SMOG test check that has Shop-DMV online submission, SmogZone is the place: I was here this morning, 10/19/19. Haik is straight forward, i showed my DMV notice and took my car right away. Website says open at 9am, i arrived 8:50am done at 8:59am and pass! To Haik: Keep this kind of service man, not like others with blah blah blah and say need to fix something only to make money. Thumbs up to you Haik! read more

This place was recommeded by a friend. A bit difficult to spot, just west of Hazeltine on Oxnard, but fairly priced and nice people you could understand. Even though I had no wait, they've got a waiting area that you can view your car as it is getting tested!! Important to keep an eye out and for asking questions. Fairly priced after checking around with other locations. I had no coupon, so $60.00 I'll go back for next year's check! read more
