The setting is perfect! From the layout of the dining area to the spacious work areas, everything is clean, sleek, and bangin'!!! Good job on the Grand Opening!!! The pizza speaks for itself!!! Best pizza I've ever had!

If I could give ten stars, I absolutely would! Smoke Pizza Company just moved from their food truck into a brand-new storefront, and WOW -- they are already knocking it out of the park. From the second we drove by and saw the huge crowd gathered inside, we knew we had to stop in, and thank goodness we did. I ordered the combo with a 10" BBQ brisket pizza, a drink, and a brownie topped with cream cheese frosting. Let me just say: this pizza was next level phenomenal. Cooked over fire, it had that perfect smoky flavor that makes every bite unforgettable. I'm visiting from Arizona and honestly, I would come back here just for this pizza -- it's truly some of the best I've ever had in my life. And it didn't stop there. The brownie? Pure decadence. Rich, fudgy, with that tangy cream cheese frosting that takes it over the edge. I also couldn't resist grabbing some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies from their dessert area (which was overflowing with incredible options), and they were just as amazing. You can feel the heart and soul in this place -- it seems family run, and the pride they put into their food is obvious. They've clearly built a loyal following from their food truck days, and now that they're in a permanent space, I have no doubt they'll become the go-to pizza spot in town. If you're anywhere near here, do yourself a favor and RUN to Smoke Pizza Company. I can't stop thinking about it, and I'm already planning my next visit.

Cheesy bread. Can easily see cheesy wasn't evenly spread out.

Pizza was really good. It's wood fired, with a nice crust and sauce that was just right.

I was very disturbed by what I saw at Thatzza Pizza on Saturday, April 18 around 8 pm…read more I have since received a call from the San Juan County public health inspector who equally as concerned and disturbed as I was (his exact words were "if I were you I'd have told the cashier to take his pizza and shove it") and threatened to take the restaurant's permit away if they did not provide employee training. The owners response on to me on Google Maps confirms that their employee was eating pepperonis and sticking fingers in her mouth while preparing a customer's pizza. As I was paying for my pizza, I witnessed a young female employee stick her fingers into her mouth and then into the pepperoni tub as she made a customer's pizza. I saw her continue to eat pepperonis as she prepared the pizza. I pointed this out to the clerk (a 20-30 year old male with a dark ponytail) and I said it was inappropriate and disgusting for an employee to be touching the customer's food while sticking her fingers into her mouth, and eating, and that I don't want someone else's spit on my food. The man got visibly upset and nasty, and said in a whiny tone that she wasn't doing anything wrong and it's totally fine to have your fingers in your mouth while making food to sell to the public. I was shocked at his response - it's one thing for a child to make a silly mistake while cooking, another for a grown man to not see the obvious health hazard here. We paid for our pizza and left (to avoid making a scene, and to support the employees working who were innocently doing their jobs), but threw it away out of fear of retribution since the cashier was so nasty to me. I've filed a complaint with both the city of Monticello and the San Juan County public health department. If employees are willing to be that disgusting in public in front of customers, I shudder to think of how they behave when out of sight.

If you want Pizza, I recommend coming here. They have other food as well, but I can't comment on it. I got the pizza and took it back to the hotel room. It looks like a decent place to sit there and eat it, but certainly not a place for a date.

My wife and our two girls ate here the other day and we really enjoyed it. We started with the…read moreCaesar salad and mozzarella sticks and both were solid. For dinner we had the angel hair Bolognese, the sopressata pizza with that great Italian ham, and I had the polpette with meatballs. Everything tasted fantastic. The flavors were rich, fresh, and exactly what we were hoping for after a long day on the trail. Service was quick, efficient, and everyone inside was genuinely friendly. My cup was never empty and the staff stayed on top of everything without hovering. The space is more open and cavernous than intimate, so if you're looking for a cozy Italian date spot this isn't that. But if you want great food in a relaxed place, it hits the mark. We took some pizza home and ate it the next day and it was still amazing. We enjoyed the whole experience and would absolutely come back.

We were pretty excited to see a Neapolitan pizza and pasta restaurant in Moab. The reviews looked…read moresolid, and from what I remembered from our last visit many years ago, there were not many pizza options in town. We ordered the Salsiccia e Funghi, a sausage and mushroom pizza, along with the mussels in white wine sauce appetizer, homemade Italian cream sodas, and one additional limonata soda. The pizza was okay, but not the quality I would expect from a polished Neapolitan-style pizza place, especially at this price point. The mussels appetizer had potential because white wine sauce is exactly the kind of dish we usually enjoy with bread. Before ordering, I specifically asked about the bread because we like having enough to sop up the broth, the way you would expect at a good Italian restaurant. Our waitress said she would bring as much bread as we wanted. There were three of us, and the appetizer came with three pieces of bread. Given the earlier conversation, we later asked for three more pieces. The request seemed to bother her. When she delivered the extra bread, sensing her frustration, we said she could add it to the bill, and she told us she already had. That was frustrating because we had just discussed it before ordering. We were attempting to be more gracious, and she missed the mark with her response. She could have said ok, or thank you, or "no it's ok I told you could have as much bread as you wanted for the mussels" The mussels themselves were also uneven. Several had not opened during cooking, which is generally a sign that they should not be served or eaten. With mussels, the usual food-safety rule is: if they do not open during cooking, do not eat them. The FDA's consumer seafood guidance says clams, mussels, and oysters should open during cooking, and the ones that do not open should be thrown out. That made us question the quality control and preparation of the dish. The cream sodas were mixed. The berry version was delicious, but the mango version missed the mark. It was not sweet at all and tasted like the mango may not have been ripe. A little simple syrup, or ripe mango, would have helped a lot. The unripe mango soda ends up tasting a little like pine sol smells. We were also disappointed because the prices were more in line with what we would expect from a higher-quality meal. For the items noted above, plus one additional limonata soda, the meal came to over $60. I typically tip over 20%, but I took the extra bread charge off the tip, and the tip was still over 17%. Overall, this was not a terrible experience, but it was disappointing compared with what we were hoping for. The food had some good ideas, but several details felt off, and the service created a communication gap that left a bad impression.
