This place serves frozen, air fried food for an insane amount of money, plus they ask for a 20% tip and require a 20% service fee for to go orders. It's crazy as The service is slow and judgy. I stopped in this restaurant a couple times. The first time I stopped in I had the soup/salad bar which was decent with a lot of choices. The second visit I got the Navajo taco to go and I only had to wait about 10 minutes before it was ready. Unfortunately I thought everything in it was pretty bland... no seasoning to the beans. The best part was definitely the fry bread. And they charge an automatic fee for anything to go... I probably would have tipped more than the fee but I don't prefer when a percentage is automatically added to anything. The food here was excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly, the sides were delicious, and overall the kitchen did a great job. If I were rating the food alone, this review would be much higher. Unfortunately, the service was a completely different story. Our waitress was rude, seemed uninterested in helping us, and rarely checked on our table. The frustrating part was that the restaurant wasn't particularly busy, so it wasn't a situation where the staff appeared overwhelmed. Whenever we actually needed something--whether it was a refill, a question, or assistance with our meal--it was difficult to find her. We spent far too much time waiting and felt like an inconvenience rather than paying customers. It's disappointing because this is a restaurant in a tourist town where many visitors are looking for a memorable dining experience. The food certainly delivered, but the service did not. Homestead Steak house knows their audience, that's for sure. The food here is "comfort food", simple and plain. The service is energetic, friendly, and synchronized by a team that works well together. Our server was stellar....Kailey was so cheerful, and keen to make one dish "just right" that had come out LESS than, uh .... "perfect". That dining room is spacious and well "socially distanced" for modern times, even though they might have squeezed in more tables (we're glad they didn't). We felt safe, and enjoyed just the right amount of "communal" energy. Blanding doesn't have much in the way of dining experiences...in fact, our hotel staff described The Homestead Steak House as "the only sit-down" restaurant in Blanding. The Navajo Fry Bread Taco was my personal favorite, big enough for two, and delicious, too. We loved the piping hot French Fries, and especially the Onion Rings. We loved our burgers so much that we ordered one more "for the road". Tourists from Florida. My family ordered the chicken tenders, blue mountain cheeseburger, and navajo tacos. The chicken tenders were obviously out of the freezer and came on a piece of lettuce that made them soggy. Fries were actually very good. Baked potatoes were extremely good. Unassuming restaurant in a town that's seen its better days. I was expecting dreary lackadaisical food, but was pleasantly surprised (Especially after checking into a dreary rundown hotel). The staff all wore handwritten name tags, a homey touch. Our server was a nice young lady who didn't mind answering questions. Excellent home style food, generous portions, a tad on the pricey side. Clean and homey environment, my only gripe is the chair legs didn't match up with the table base...you have to sit farther away from the table than is comfortable. The biscuits are amazing - buttery and moist. Whoever makes them is a total biscuit making pro. They serve them with a homemade raspberry sauce bright with tart fruit flavor. My salmon was tasty, served with a sesame oil infused sauce. The side veggies weren't soggy, which was nice. Just a good dinner in an unexpected location. For those who drink be forewarned: I've read on other reviews that Blanding is a dry town (which I would never have known since I don't usually drink alcohol). read more

Whenever we travel through Blanding, we have to stop at the Homestead. The steak is great, the sides are great and we love the salad bar. So often on the road you can't get enough vegetables, so we really appreciate the ability to make our own nice fresh salad, they even have gloves to protect from germs. One of the best parts are the biscuits with the fruit sauce that come with the meal. The staff are awesome, friendly and very attentive. read more
