I don't smoke. I love this place! There are two reasons. Impeccable customer service and product knowledge for everything they sell no matter how inexpensive. Second, and this is a big one, they have the best snacks! For such a small place, that isn't an eating establishment they have a lovely assortment of snacks.They carry familoar brands but seem to have the most unique and exotic flavors. Think of the most mundane snack you can and Smoke Plus will have a version that came from an enchanted tree harvested on the new moon by sprites. If you want BBQ chips, they got them but a pitmaster, for sure marinated, dried and smoked the potato personally. Even if you don't smoke it is worthwhile to shop here. read more

You'll also find basic food items, non-alcoholic drinks, personal lubricants, incense, candles, and even surprisingly well-made knockoff LV wallets and hats, all at prices that offer great value. Every time, I've been helped by one of the same two employees, and they're always incredibly friendly and attentive. Even when the shop is packed with lottery buyers or customers browsing, they take their time with everyone, ensuring you leave with exactly what you need. BUYER BEWARE dishonest place (most of the staff)!that resells older products some of which is defective based on more that one experience. Please note that every store of this sort---let's just say many of the stores in the Castro and/or smoke shops in the city have 5 star ratings or so. I came to buy a vaporizer as recommended by my doctor. Please see the past post of the other yelp user who was also given a vaporizer that did not work. They sold him a lemon. DO NOT BUY A VAPORIZER OR ANYTHING THAT IS NOT PREPACKAGED. One can easily say that this "shady" place based on other reviews, open the boxes for a reason. They sold me a lemon for over $110. I was sold a used nonfunctional vaporizer. This was medically recommended specifically. I went to them 3 times. The first time they said the battery needs to be charged. It was odd that the manufacturer specially states that this particular product comes with 4 hours of battery life. I noticed the screen was broken that night and realized I had been duped. Still, I thought I could show this and get a replacement. However, this Australian guy and this other guy were yelling at me---giving me an immediate panic attack, which ironically indeed a working vaporizer to prevent panic attacks. I'm in extreme distress right now and almost non functional From precious posts, not only is this place putting itself for civil litigation, but also for criminal as there are a few posts by other describing shady stuff, like the transaction where it is said that they are dealing opioids. And, this is not a small business after some research I conducted . It is a huge enterprise (a huge criminal enterprise if they really are exchanging or selling unlawful schedule I to III products such as opioids. Their company (they have many business) is called "B.B.Enterprises". I CEO if this enterprise is named Allam Bittar. I, myself like karma to take care of these things. But, this time maybe Kamilla, as in Kamilla Harris' attorney generals office should conduct an investigation based on all these allegations from the yelp users. I walked into this place very excited to buy a vaporizer, and was recommended one by a very friendly staff member a couple days ago. I know that the policy is that all sales are final, but when I bought it, I asked the staff person if I could bring it back it if it didn't work because it was quite expensive, and he said that yes I could. I've had the vaporizer for two days and it just does not work, I am very dissatisfied with it. So I called today to see of I could exchange it but the staff person who I talked to today was very rude and rejected my request for an exchange. We went in looking for pipes. The guy who was working the counter seemed annoyed that we were even asking him for help opening the locked cabinets. We spent $60, and then called an uber. The store clerk had the audacity to ask us why we were loitering (if we spent $60 on your merchandise is it really considered loitering) and then asked us wait out in the rain and cold. I have been coming here for the past 2 years. This awful experience alone was enough to keep me away forever. read more

This review is not for the variety or quality of the products on this store; it is solely related to my surprisingly unnerving experience with the employee working the store tonight. Tall, bearded, and incredibly rude; beyond any reason. My friend and I had just spent 10mins choosing and purchasing a few items, and once we were done we ordered an uber to pick us up. Because it was raining we waited inside by the door for our car to arrive, maybe up to 5mins. The employee decides that we are loitering and that we now deserve to be kicked out of the store, into the pouring rain. We just spent +$80 at this store, during which this employee was dismissive, rude, and patronizing. And now that we are done being mistreated customers, he decides we are an inconvenience and throws us out. It doesn't end there, we express how we thought he was being rude for throwing us out after being purchasing customers, we get into an argument, he throws us out of the store, out of under "his canopy", states that all sales are final and we can't run anything even if we wanted to, and yells at us. Hahahaha. I'm don't believe the customer is always right, I don't even believe the customer is right most of the time, but the employee in this store was fucking dick, and he treated us like we were trash. I don't know if it had anything to do with the fact that I'm Latin and my friend is Asian, or that we are both gay, but the treatment we received makes it hard to believe this employee is anything but racist and homophobic. And this store is in the Castro. So to the owner of this store; the experience we had was insulting, and perhaps this employee needs customer service training. These guys deserve a plaque for the rudest shop assistant ever! After being ignored for ages I bought an ecig battery (without getting a receipt, duh, I should have known..) that started working faulty after a few hours of use. I was in the area and went back and of course it did work there again. The shop assistant who ignored me earlier was quite aggressive accusing me of making it up. The battery then stopped working again and they offered me to exchange for a different one which I agreed to. That one, you might guess it, stopped working after half an hour. No receipt to demand money back, tired to try faulty batteries and fed up with bad service I am waving those 30 dollars good-bye. DO NOT GO THERE! read more

That said, on the occassion that one might need to purchase a gift of this nature for, say, a friend, perhaps, Smoke Plus is not a bad choice. The sales representative who may, in fact, have been the proprietor, was every bit as friendly and helpful as the girls at the Chanel counter at Saks, but without the attitutde. Or the gift with purchase. He even apologized for his limited gift wrapping capabilities. In fact, my companion commented that this might just be the best head shop on the block. This shop used to be cool and friendly. But the tall dude with dyed black hair the tats on his knuckles throws WAY too much attitude, which would be cool if he knew his stuff. But sadly, dude doesn't know jack. I went in with out my glasses, and couldn't read the labels of the small cigar packages. I had to ask him for help; So check this: he sells me a complete different brand than what I ask for. When I asked him (in two different ways) about the label looking different then the brand I was asking for (of which I pointed out to him in the larger cigar size), he says "For the third time YES IT'S THE SAME BRAND". Then, no eye contact: just the shaking of his head like I just put him through this horrible ordeal. I guess he was pissed that I interrupted his smoking break. Or, maybe he didn't have his glasses. Smoke plus is one of the local Castro district smoke shops. Personally I think this place is overpriced and taxed on super tuff. I went in there during my break at work to re up on some vape juice, prior to calling them and asking if they had any discounted juice to use for my juul pods for refilling. They told me they had a wide variety of flavors and brands that are currently on sale. When I went in I was not greeted by the dude who mans this store front. He was engaged with another man who didn't seem to be buying anything and I didn't want to be rude and interrupt there deeep conversation they were having about whomever and or whoever they were gabbing about. After some time I asked where the juice was at. He made a comment about "patience being key" which I paid no mind to and directed me to the front of the store where they only carried one brand of juice with around 10-15 different flavors. Overall this is a shit take on a head shop and variety isn't there at all. $30 for a shit brand of juice at 30ml. Barf, shit, caca, poopoo shop will be walking my happy ass down to 7-11 when I'm in a pinch next time and be walking right by this place without a first or second glance at the place. read more
