I just got off my plane and was starving. I found this super cool house boat restaurant thing that made me reconsider everything. Their smoke burnt ends. Decisions. Mac and cheese. Delicious. Collard greens. Seasoned with just the perfect pop of heat. I also tried each of their bbqs sauces, my top two were the Texas and Kansas City BBQ. I also appreciate that they know how to make some authentic sweet tea. I came in, not knowing how to order, and one of the sweet gentlemen working explained to me the whole process. You do have to park in the marina parking lot in order to get to there. 10/10. I'm only here for 2 weeks and I'm definitely coming back for more! read more

Food was absolutely wonderful!! Big portions, and flavor was very tasty. This is probably the best hidden gem of Key West, although most of the locals probably know about it!! It is actually on the water, as it is comprised of three floating pontoons. The view of the marina is beautiful, and so peaceful. The waitress was very friendly and prompt. Service was good. This is definitely going to go on my favorites list when I am here. Oh, and the orange cream cake was terrific!! Gotta try it!! read more

Smoked BBQ has excellent food. The Burnt Ends are the best I've had and the Big Hog sandwich is amazing. I'd recommend this place to anyone with a hankering for some BBQ. I get food from them at least a few times a month. read more

We are so glad we found this place & stopped for a late lunch. We ordered the smoked Rueben sandwich, half rack of ribs and burnt ends. Everything was delicious and a good portion. My boyfriend is a bbq connoisseur, and he commented that the rub and bark were excellent. For sides we had the cucumber salad, which was very refreshing, the Mac & cheese and collard greens. Their sauces are tasty as well. I especially enjoyed the blackberry jalapeño sauce. The restaurant is located on the marina in a boat. We are on the roof, under a cute tiki roof. The people here aren't just nice & friendly theyre caring. They're so proud of their food. And they absolutely should be. This food was unbelievabl, some of the best homemade hot sauces I've had. This so-called barbecue "restaurant" should be avoided at all costs. They most assuredly don't care about their customers, and judging by the appearance of the restaurant AND THE NUMEROUS HEALTH DEPARTMENT VIOLATIONS, this place obviously doesn't care about cleanliness. When the food came I will admit that it did smell delicious, but upon taking that first bite I felt like I was eating a rubber boot! The pork barbecue wasn't tender AT ALL and tasted like cardboard, the baked beans were cold, the sweet tea anything but sweet and my date's beef brisket was barely cooked! After a few bites we decided a refund was in order. Upon returning both plates to the manager on duty for a refund (who stated he was part owner) we were horrified to see how disgusting the back kitchen was. Flies landing on the food as it was being prepared, the windows and walls appeared as if they hadn't been washed in forever, and the cooking surfaces were absolutely disgusting! Not only this, but the manager downright refused to refund our money for such a horrible meal, and having to catch a plane we decided to just leave. It should be noted here that as we were leaving a guy was coming down the steps, his head bleeding profusely from contact with the low overhead partition at the entrance, and as his wife was asking this very same manager to call 911, his angry, disrespectful reply was, "didn't you see the sign to watch your head?!" We later learned this same restaurant has had many health department violations over the years, and they even had to close their doors back in June of last year to address same! All this should make any prospective customer be wary, and think twice about choosing this restaurant. This place was positively disgusting and they couldn't care less about their customers! read more

This is a really cool concept - eating BBQ on a boat! - but to be honest that's all I liked about this place. First things first, when you arrive, there is no signage instructing you to walk up and order at the counter. Had the employee on duty not verbally told us to do so, we probably would have just seated ourselves to wait for a server - and that is just what we saw several other groups do! (So it wasn't just us.) Of course the other people were also instructed to get up and go stand in line at the counter. A sign or poster or *something* would be very helpful. Key West is not a cheap place, and I'm not a cheapskate either, but over $50 for what was basically fast food quality BBQ for two adults and one child is excessive in my book. The food was mediocre (none of us even finished our meals) and the bottled sodas were warm before the food even arrived since there was no ice available. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be giving this place a second shot. read more

Very cool setup on a boat. Great views from the tables if you're dining inside. Brisket plate with Mac and cheese and coleslaw was great. Big portion but brisket was very thin and unlike thick Texas brisket where I'm from. 4 different types of bbq sauce was fun to try and choose a favorite. Bacon hush puppies weren't what I expected. Didn't see nor taste bacon at all. Great selection of drinks and staff was super friendly. Would try again! read more

Somewhere between below average and average. As someone who has eaten bbq across the country, just skip it and do the food key west is known for. Dry meat, cheese on burnt ends which wasn't mentioned in the door dash menu(I'm allergic), no sauce on the meats, very expensive. read more

Just left here and can't say enough good things. The food was some of the best smoked bbq I've ever had. Then add in their in house made bbq sauces....chefs kiss. The collards were amazing , if you like a Mac and cheese with a kick they've got you and the creamy Cole slaw didn't disappoint. Also if you have kids there are fish you can feed and get a chance to enjoy your food while they throw bread. The service and people running it were very nice and attentive. Can't wait to visit in the future. Just don't forget they are closed on Mondays. read more

I typically don't rate at 5 stars nothing is perfect. Put this is one of the best barbecue places in the country!. It's on a barge in the harbor so there is not much ambiance. Your food comes on a parchment lined cafeteria tray and you use plastic utensils I've said it before, at Smoked all the effort and expense goes into the food! Absolutely great and awesome experience!! We are pretty picky about bbq and that place met our criteria's (at least for what we tried so far). We got there towards the end of the day and I see many comments complaining about items being sold out, warm drinks and whatnot. Guys, it is obviously a small business with a few employees, and the owner told us right away what was sold out and he just restocked drinks so it would be warm... on top of people complaining that it is not well indicated on how to get in, very sketchy stairs, etc... again, you are dining on an actual boat in the port and there is no cooler BBQ experience than this!!! please be a little bit compassionate! Mick is the sweetest and most passionate chef, treated us (and I'm sure like everyone else) like friends! He can be proud of his food and place which are so unique!! We had pulled pork, ribs and burnt ends, as well as the hush puppies, baked beans, corn on the cob and Mac and cheese. Everything tasted delicious to us: very well seasoned, great BBQ flavor, not too fatty, good balance between sweet and savory... we also tried all the sauces and they were very good too. The blackberry jalapeño was my favorite one for sure! Overall price seemed fine for us, again for a very good BBQ in Key West, on a péniche. We will definitely be back!!! read more

We first noticed Smoked BBQ on a bike ride around the key and from the amazing smell of smoked meat, we decided to make it part of our dinner plans during our stay. The service was on point and very friendly. My kids ordered the pulled pork on a bun with fries. My wife and I shared the combo with pulled pork and brisket. We also opted for the shrimp balls with the mango jalapeño sauce for a quick appetizer! Those were excellent!!! The pork had a nice hint of smoke, not over powering and was juicy! The brisket was good, but seemed a little tough and dry. It was still very tasty, but requires a little more sauce. The sides, slaw and beans were very good! Our view was also cool as we enjoyed a nice quiet atmosphere on a little cooler day! Would recommend this to anyone that want to get off of the beaten path of Duval St. for a more enjoyable dining experience in the marina. We will definitely be back! read more

I also love love LOVE the roasted carrots side... and I don't even love carrots typically! But they make them so good here. The chicken (I get it with the jerk seasoning) is perfectly cooked, moist and packed with flavor. The only thing I don't love about this place is there's no indoor seating so you have to deal with the chickens lol but other than that it's worth being watched by them while I eat. The staff is very friendly every single time.
